IN FOSTER: Mies and Minnie's foster is committed to helping them find a new family! To begin the adoption process, please reach out to the foster directly at: lesliesdhsfostervolunteer@gmail.com. How this pet arrived: Mies was brought in by a community member on October 4, 2025. Why this pet is the one for you:Minnie #968507 and Mies #446698 (pronounced Meece) are bonded sisters who are looking for a home together! They're currently in a foster home and we have had the joy of seeing them settle in and show their sweet, gentle natures. Gentle and affectionate, they've only lived indoors in a calm, quiet home and will do best in a similar environment - they haven't ever lived with other pets or children, so a home without those things may be best. They may be shy at first, but with patience they warm up beautifully. Minnie could use a little diet and extra playtime, but both adore treats, daily brushing, wand toys, and the occasional catnip party. They're tidy girls who do best with at least two jumbo litter boxes. Most days they nap together, then in the evenings cuddle on the couch, the bed, or their kitty condos. They enjoy both wet and dry food, and "squeeze-up" treats are a favorite. If you think these sweet sisters might be the right fit, reach out about adopting today! At SDHS:Minnie has been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed. She is now ready for her new home! Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: White Weight: 11.4 Age: 7yrs 5mths 3wks

Story
How this pet arrived: KC was brought in by her previous owner on November 4, 2025.Why this pet is the one for you:Meet KC - a lovely little enigma wrapped in fur. She's beautiful, independent, and has opinions about... bathroom real estate. KC has a bit of a history with skipping the litterbox, and while the exact "why" remains one of life's great mysteries, we suspect she wasn't thrilled about sharing her space with another cat and may also have some early kidney changes. KC is looking for a drama-free home - no dogs, no other cats, and definitely no chaos. Older kids who understand the concept of "personal space" would be perfect. A calm environment and a dedicated "KC Room" to help her reset her litterbox habits will set her up for success. She may take her time to settle in, but once KC feels comfortable, she'll reward your patience with quiet companionship and her own brand of quirky charm. Think of her as a cat with main character energy - she just needs the right stage to shine. Don't forget to bring a cat carrier for a safe ride home!Overstimulated Cat: KC requires a virtual behavior consult, please watch THIS video to learn more about them. Primary Color: Brown Tabby Secondary Color: White Weight: 9.83 Age: 10yrs 1mths 2wks

Story
How this pet arrived: Valencia was brought in by our Humane Law Enforcement Team on September 29, 2025. Why this pet is the one for you:Meet Valencia, a long-haired beauty who loves cozy corners, and her best friend Wilson (#969595), a sweet tabby with an irresistible face. These two come as a matched set-where one goes, the other must follow. They arrived together, stick together, and need to be adopted as a duo. We're still getting to know them, but so far their favorite activities include lounging side by side like tiny royalty and occasional playful wrestling matches that leave them both utterly exhausted. They may not roll out the red carpet right away, but with a cozy, quiet spot of their own, their soft purrs and slow, trusting blinks will steal your heart. Valencia's gorgeous long coat will need regular brushing to keep her comfortable and mat-free, while Wilson prefers life best when it's lived right by her side. If you're looking for two sweet companions who operate on a "no splitting up" policy and are ready to grow braver together, Valencia and Wilson might be your perfect pair. When it's time to head home, don't forget to bring two secure carriers for a smooth trip home! At SDHS:Valencia has been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed. She is now ready for her new home! Primary Color: Black Weight: 13.18 Age: 5yrs 1mths 2wks

How this pet arrived: Nala was brought in by a community member on August 22, 2025.Why this pet is the one for you:Meet Nala, queen of the couch, empress of snuggles and undefeated champion of the nap-a-thon. This slightly fluffy lady is on the lookout for her new throne - a comfy spot on your sofa where she can supervise your life while occasionally requesting pets. Nala is a sweetheart who loves company and treats, but will probably need a quiet space to acclimate in her new home. She will also need a dental check-up in the future, so her new family should be prepared to follow up with a veterinarian. If you're looking for a shy but sweet feline companion to share your days with, inquire about adopting Nala today! At SDHS:This pet has been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed neutered. This pet is now ready for their new home! Primary Color: Brown Tabby Secondary Color: White Weight: 12.96 Age: 11yrs 3mths 3wks

How this pet arrived: Henry was brought in by a community member on November 12, 2025. Why this pet is the one for you:Meet Henry! Henry is a sweet guy with a "slow-to-warm-up, then total sidekick" vibe. At first, he may give you the classic polite nod from across the room, but once he decides you're good people, he leans right in for all the head scratches. Being carried? Absolutely not on his agenda. But sprawling in a sunny spot like a tiny lion on vacation? Now that is his specialty. Henry is on the lookout for a home where he can chill out, claim the best sunbeams, and quietly supervise life's activities. He brings calm energy, soft paws, and excellent sunbathing skills to the table. He does have a quiet heart murmur, and we recommend following up with your vet. If you're ready for a mellow buddy with a sprinkle of charm and a strong appreciation for relaxation, Henry might be the cat for you. When it's time to bring him home, don't forget a large, secure carrier-Henry appreciates a safe, roomy ride. Primary Color: Blue Weight: 13.7 Age: 10yrs 1mths 0wks

Story
How this pet arrived: Gary was brought in by his previous owner on November 9, 2025. Why this pet is the one for you:Say hello to Gary - official heartthrob and all-around mysterious gentleman. With a face that could land him on the cover of Cat Fancy (if he'd agree to sit still for a photo), Gary prefers a quiet life of observation and the occasional dignified interaction. He's the strong, silent type - emphasis on the silent, especially when things get loud or unpredictable. Reserved, quiet, and calm, Gary is still learning how to "cat" in the company of humans and will need plenty of time and space to settle in and feel at home. He must go to a home that already has another cat - a confident, social feline friend who can be his emotional support buddy, helping him feel secure and show him the ropes. Gary isn't exactly a "pick-me-up-and-cuddle" kind of guy - he prefers to keep all four paws on the ground and accept affection strictly on his own terms. Once he decides you're worthy, though, those moments of trust are pure gold. A patient adopter who understands that progress will happen on Gary's timeline is key - with some early help from a cozy, confined space to get his bearings. He's not one for brushing (he says it messes up the vibe), and he definitely prefers top-loading carriers for any necessary travel - because spa days and spontaneous vet trips are not his idea of fun. Gary would thrive in a calm, chaos-free home where peace and routine reign supreme. Bonus points if the household is free of rowdy dogs and the unpredictable energy of young kids. He's all about quiet vibes, slow introductions, and building trust one whisker twitch at a time.Shy/Fearful Cat: Gary requires a virtual behavior consult, please watch THIS video to learn more about him. Primary Color: Brown Tabby Weight: 12.14 Age: 1yrs 9mths 1wks
