Story
How this pet arrived: Henry was brought in by a community member on November 12, 2025. Why this pet is the one for you:Meet Henry! Henry is a sweet guy with a slow-to-warm-up, then total sidekick vibe. At first, he may give you the classic polite nod from across the room, but once he decides you're trustworthy, he leans right in for all the head scratches. Being carried? Absolutely not on his agenda. But sprawling in a sunny spot like a tiny lion on vacation? Now that is his specialty. Henry is on the lookout for a home where he can chill out, claim the best sunbeams and quietly supervise life's activities. He brings calm energy, soft paws and excellent sunbathing skills to the table. He does have a quiet heart murmur, so we recommend following up with your vet to keep him happy and healthy. If you're ready for a mellow buddy with a sprinkle of charm and a strong appreciation for relaxation, Henry might be the cat for you. When it's time to bring him home, don't forget a large, secure carrier - Henry appreciates a safe, roomy ride! At SDHS:This pet has been vaccinated, microchipped and neutered. This pet is now ready for adoption! Primary Color: Blue Weight: 13.6 Age: 10yrs 6mths 4wks

Story
How this pet arrived: KC was brought in by her previous owner on November 4, 2025.Why this pet is the one for you:Meet KC, a distinguished feline with plenty of purrsonality! She's beautiful, independent and thrives when she can lounge in a peaceful environment. KC has a bit of a history with skipping the litterbox, and while the exact "why" remains one of life's great mysteries, we suspect she wasn't thrilled about sharing her space with another cat and may also have some early kidney changes. KC is looking for a drama-free home without the hustle and bustle of other pets or young children. A calm environment and a dedicated "KC Room" to help her reset her litterbox habits will set her up for success. She may take her time to settle in, but once KC feels comfortable, she'll reward your patience with quiet companionship and her own brand of quirky charm. Although she has an independent nature, she may snuggle with you at night, once you bond! She also enjoys receiving ear rubs and will show you her air biscuits in return. Think of her as a cat with main character energy - she just needs the right stage to shine! Don't forget to bring a cat carrier for a safe ride home! Shy/Fearful Cat:KC requires a virtual behavior consult, please watch THIS video to learn more about her. Primary Color: Brown Tabby Secondary Color: White Weight: 10.4 Age: 10yrs 7mths 0wks

Story
How this pet arrived: Nala was brought in by a community member on August 22, 2025.Why this pet is the one for you:Nala is a slightly fluffy, gentle soul who is searching for her next throne: a cozy sofa or bed where she can lounge beside her favorite human. She's an affectionate cat who loves being close to her person and will happily hang out with you during TV time or bedtime. During the day, Nala is an expert napper and is perfectly content entertaining herself and when you come home, she'll be there to greet you! Nala loves gentle pets on her head and back and often rolls over in happiness. One thing she feels strongly about: she really does not like being picked up or having her belly touched. She does best in a calm environment - loud visitors, fast movements, or barking dogs outside can frighten her and she's looking for something more mellow in her next home. Overall, Nala is an affectionate companion who enjoys following you around, lounging beside you, and soaking up gentle affection. She will need a quiet space to acclimate in a new home and a dental check-up in the future, so her adopter should be prepared to follow up with a veterinarian. If you're a calm, kind soul looking for a loving cat to snuggle with on the sofa or in bed, Nala may be your perfect match! Story
How this pet arrived:Taurus was brought in by a community member on May 15, 2026.Why this pet is the one for you:Taurus is a shy little star who prefers to make his grand entrance on his own schedule. This handsome cat can be fearful in new situations, so he'll do best with a quiet confinement room where he can settle in, decompress and learn that home is a wonderful place to be. Once he starts to feel safe, Taurus may begin to seek out connection at his own pace, and his adopters should let him do the choosing - no forcing interactions or handling for this gentle guy. The best way to win him over is with calm company, tasty treats and a spirited session with wand toys. He may also enjoy safe outdoor time in a catio, where he can take in the sights and smells like the curious zodiac king he is. Taurus is looking for a patient home with children age 8 and older, and for the people willing to let this timid boy bloom, the reward could be truly celestial.Shy/Fearful Cat: Taurus requires a virtual behavior consult, please watch THIS video to learn more about them.
