Story
This new friend has just arrived! They have come to us either as a transfer from another shelter, being found as a stray, or have been surrendered to us by their owner. When our friends are new to us, we are typically unsure of their full background, litter box habits, comfort with handling, or experience with other pets or children. Our staff will spend some time reviewing any information provided by previous owners and spend some time with our new friend so that we can better update their biography. If you are interested in adopting this cat, please submit an adoption questionnaire! Our adoption process is on a first-come, best-match basis and we are not able to hold animals. If you are interested in this specific cat but it ends up not being the best fit upon meeting, our adoption counselors will work with you to help find a match! We may require all household members, including children, to come along for the meeting to make sure it's a good fit. If a match is made, we encourage same-day adoptions! Our adoption fees include the animals' spay/neuter, microchip, age-appropriate vaccinations and preventatives, and a small bag of food to get you started.

Story
Savannah is an 8 year old kitty. We got her from a shelter when she was just 4 months old. She is very loving and will sit on your lap and sleep with you. She would love to be an only cat. She got out of the house about 6 years ago for a month and has had problems with other kitties ever since. We love her and it breaks our heart to rehome her but we just want the best for her.

Story
Whoa!  What a handsome boy and a major lap cat!  This is Mercury.  Mercury says, 'I am cautious at first but will warm up to you quickly if you speak softly to me and slowly extend your hand.  I do enjoy gentle pets.  My age is estimated to be 3-5 years old.' Mercury is a new resident (04/09/2025) at our Glen Mills PetSmart adoption center.  He is a major lap cat and is a love-bug with every person he has met; he is fine with other cats.  Please stop in to meet Mercury and offer him you lap! Mercury would love to be in a home environment.  Please submit our no-obligation Adoption Application for a meet and greet or to adopt:  https://forgottencats.org/adoption-application/.  Not ready to adopt?  Please consider fostering:  https://forgottencats.org/foster-a-cat/.   Thank you!  (Foster:  Trainer)April 11, 2025, 2:31 pm

Story
Lap Cat Alert!!!  This black, brown and white DLH tabby is Alphonse.  Alphonse came to us completely traumatized after being abandoned by his owners in their apartment until some concerned volunteers got wind of his situation and rescued him.He was so shut down while he was in our adoption center, so went to foster for a cage break.  Initially in a home environment, he hid for a few days in a closet but would immediately come out to eat, drink and use his litter box as soon as he had the room to himself.  In a matter of 4 days, he completely turned into a loveable lap cat.  This cat who once refused to eat because he was so scared, it gobbed up everything in his path.  He's been working with his foster dad all day, lying on his desk or on his lap. He's still a little timid of sudden movements and loud noises, but we think once he's settled-in at his new home, he will be a great addition.  I think a more quiet household would be best for him or a home where you want a snuggler.  He doesn't seem to be too interested in toys yet, but that might change with more time and confidence.   Alphonse had no reaction to our dog so perhaps he could do well with a mild-mannered dog.  In the next few days, I’m going to introduce my cats. This little guy is the perfect cat. The kind everyone comes in asking for.  Please submit our no-obligation Adoption Application:  https://forgottencats.org/adoption-application/.    Thank you!  (Foster:  Maureen B.)April 25, 2025, 3:47 pm

Story
Belle was surrendered to Faithful Friends when her owners suffered illnesses that left them unable to care for her properly. Unfortunately, when Belle arrived she was diagnosed with Diabetes and would require specific care and treatment. Belle is now on a brand new prescription for diabetics which involves an oral pill rather than the typical injections! She is doing well, adjusting to the shelter, and enjoys the company of our staff, and has even become a staff favorite. She takes her meds in her food with no issues and is now stable! This pretty pretty princess is 6 years old, and she is hoping to find her forever family soon. November 4, 2024, 12:42 pm
