Story
I am Friskie and my story is very sad. You see I had a sister cat, a great owner and then one day my owner passed away. A nice family member got my sister and I into this rescue. Soon after my sister passed away too, I think she was just too sad missing our owner. I struggled too but decided I could go on and try and find a new family. I have been doing well in foster care and now it's time to start my new beginning.

Please do not send inquiries. These cats can be visited at PetSmart in Carmel/Westfield (14720 US 31N) during store business hours. Applications are available at the store. These are not “cuddlers”. These are young adults that came to us from Indy Neighborhood Cats when they were kittens. They were born feral and we have been working on socialization for months. They do NOT like to be picked up, and barely allow us to pet them. But they LOVE playtime with tunnels and cat trees. ADOPTER WILL NEED TO CONTINUE SOCIALIZATION and BE PATIENT. WE WILL ONLY ADOPT THEM AS A BONDED PAIR. Azalea is a sweet girl who will only let you pet her on her terms. Larkspur will not let you move him, pick him up, or do anything to him, except pet him sometimes. He was the spiciest kitten when he came to us and hasn't changed much. He does not trust human hands. Thanks to our foster Purrcy, Larkspur will come up to me begging for attention while Purrcy is getting his daily loving. He runs off after a few pets. He needs a covered litter box with no door or he'll overshoot the sides of the litter box. These cats have not been around dogs or small children. We insist on a cat-only household with children over 12. They do great with other cats. Azalea & Larkspur are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, tested negative for FIV/FeLV and are microchipped. Approximate date of birth is August 21, 2022. Adoption fee = $75 per cat ($150 total)

I sure am cute, but I’m a ball of energy and natural instincts! I need to get my energy out and will want to perch up high, cuddle, scratch on a post, and would love a window with a view. Kittens will naturally pounce, wrestle, and play rough. But if you stick with me, we’ll be best friends forever!

Story
Casper is 5 years old. I adopted him from an old couple 3 years ago who didn’t socialize him as a kitten and declawed him, so he’s very easily scared. He needs to have his paws X-Ray’d to ensure there are no bone fragments causing him pain, so please do that upon adoption since I don’t have the time to. He’s potty trained and loves to cuddle at night. He likes having his own space, sleeping on the bed and near windows, loves playing and his favorite toy is a feather on a stick from Walmart. He needs someone with a quiet house with no pets, patience (no yelling, hitting),commitment, will take him to the vet when needed, and can brush him at least once a week. He’s the sweetest boy, but can be a challenge to take care of so please consider this carefully.

Good with cats,
Story
Mr. Bond was named after his big golden eyes. He was born on 3/10/2022. He is a sweet, gorgeous boy who loves to play with the kitty fishing rods, and will sometimes play at chasing a laser. He gets along with other cats, but he is incredibly shy, and sometimes scared. He does not like sharing the litter boxes, so he'd probably fit better in a home with none, or one other cat max. He has not been neutered or chipped. Mr. Bond has only ever interacted with grown-up humans. He doesn't seem to like cuddles, pets, or being held/carried. He will only let people pet him every now and then. He loves treats, ALL the treats, and takes them so gently. He deserves to be in a loving home with someone that will spoil him, be patient, and let him come on his own terms.

Story
Moose was in a set of cats we took in from around the Ft. Meyers local shelter. They were severely affected by the hurricane, and we drove down and took some animals to help and adopt out. We don't have history or his story. He was shaved when he came into the shelter in Florida, as there was hurricane debris stuck in his long hair, and no way to brush it out. Because of that, he will require medical shaving occasionally. He is the first one to greet you when you enter the room, and always wants pets. Don't let his age fool you, he is very active!

Story
TigressaI am one of those beautiful ladies who want to be wooed, courted, and showered with love before she agrees to a permanent relationship. I have lived with two owners, the first of whom was allergic to me. My second owner and I lived together for three years before she surrendered me to HSHC on December 9. We got along like peanut butter and jelly until two significant changes occurred. First, unbelievably, they changed the front door without even asking for my approval! Secondly, her son, grandson, and their dog moved into my home with NO warning. It is a basic fact of life that cats hate change, and the only way to make it bearable is to give the cat a safe place to be alone and decompress for as long as it takes to feel at peace. The interviewer lady has stopped by my apartment several times, and I have always remained in my Kasa. However, I let her pet me today and rub my ears and chin. It was delightful having her undivided attention. She agrees that I am a striking beauty with a long grey and buff-colored coat. I am only 5-years-old, spayed, and litterbox trained. She thinks I will make a loving companion with a patient owner, no other animals in the home, and everyone at least 16 years or older. I`ll leave you with my favorite quote. `Don`t hate me because I`m beautiful` - Pantene Shampoo. 1-8-25

Story
George & Bootsy You may remember us from our interview in January. We are a unique bonded couple who met on a blind date. Bootsy, at 13-years-old, is the elder of us, and I, at just 12, am the younger. We`ve been through a lot, including a period of illness, and were fortunate to spend time with a wonderful foster mom. Here is a summary of her feedback on our special bond. George and Bootsy were my first elderly cat fosters and my first time fostering a bonded pair. Despite their illness, they showed remarkable resilience and were the sweetest, most loving cats I`ve ever had. Having a bonded pair was a joy and blessing! Bootsy loves to cuddle up to your chest and snooze the day away. George always ended up napping away on my legs. It was like a full-body cat hug! Even when they were at their sickest and being syringe-fed medicine twice daily, George and Bootsy never tried to bite, scratch, or even hiss at me. They were uncomfortable, and no one likes taking meds, but they were sweet and quick to look for cuddles afterward. It absolutely blew me away! Once they began to feel better, their personalities shone through. Bootsy loves to sunbathe and watch the world go by. While George is a proper little hunter and still loves to play in his old age. I was absolutely blessed to foster these sweethearts and will never forget them.We are a comfortable couple, satisfied with a warm place to nap, kind treatment, and a loving home. We have lived with cats, dogs, and kids, but a peaceful atmosphere would be welcome. If you are also a member of AARP, you may enjoy company while watching TV. 8-19-24

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
I had 5 sweet little baby kittens in the grass in front of an old school. Some boys found me and ran across the street to see if a lady had a box to put us in. Thankfully, they asked a lady who knew people who were connected with this rescue, and now, we are safe. We have been given good food and fresh water and my kittens have grown and are ready for a forever home of their own. I have a great purr. I love to watch out the window at birds and other wildlife. I will use a scratching post or a cardboard scratcher and sharpen my nails. I would love to sit beside you or on your lap while you watch TV or read a book. Story
Meet (Princess) Azula - She was brought into our rescue by a homeless woman who found Azula & couldn’t take care of her anymore in the cold. She’s a tiny fluffy ball of energy, she adores playing with other kittens and racing through the house with them. She’s definitely a talkative princess & will let you know when she wants attention, canned food, & cuddles (often). She loves cuddling all evening after a long day of playing. She would love to join a family that will give her lots of attention and hopefully a playmate, she’s not shy at all!
