Story
WinstonThe first time the interviewer lady came to talk with me, I was so relieved. She quickly figured out that I am what you might call a Furman-- meaning a little, furry human. I am 6-years-old and have lived in my last home for two years. I was surrendered to HSHC on September 1 because I love humans, but NOT cats and dogs. I have gotten into scrapes with other animals all my life. They don't seem to understand that I am not one of them! Before this home, I had been a stray and avoided all dogs and cats. It was probably during an altercation with a stray cat that I contracted FIV, a retrovirus that weakens my immune system. The FIV virus cannot infect humans or other animals, and FIV+ cats can live long, healthy lives when given the proper care, diet, veterinarian visits, and indoor life. I proved to the interviewer lady that I am crazy about humans when I rubbed my head against hers about 100 times. I was so pleased to have her pet me all over that I purred and purred. If you would like to have just one animal in your home to love, why not consider adopting me? 9-27-23

Story
KiernanHello, it's me again. A lot has changed since I arrived at the HSHC in mid-May! First of all, my hair has grown in, and I'm looking like the handsome dude I was meant to be. I've been living with my foster family for a while, and I'm lovin' being in a home! My foster mom (FM) says that I always use my litterbox, though "loose legs" (from an illness or injury in my past) make it tricky. My favorite things include sleeping with my FM, hanging out in cat trees, and cuddling with my people. My personality traits are--neat & tidy, intelligent, social, affectionate, chill, and talkative. I enjoy the company of other cats and was even somewhat interested in the foster puppies living there, too. However, I was eager for it to be my turn to be cuddled! I would love to have an owner who truly enjoys my company. Right now, I sit by the door, waiting for folks to come home! I'm still 5-years-old, by the way! 8-29-23

Story
KieraPlease don't let the number "12" give you second thoughts about adopting me. I am considered a senior cat, but in my heart, I am still that young girl excited by everything I encounter. When the interviewer lady (IL) visited me, I was pleased to socialize with her, but it also allowed me to look around outside my door! I am so curious about what is happening, who is making that noise, why the lights go on or off, whether food is coming or volunteers to massage me. I was passed off from one owner to another, who only had me for two months before bringing me here. Tolerant, I seem to "roll with the punches." I have a long, fluffy, dilute Tortoiseshell coat on a relatively small body. I am on the skinny side but enjoying the room service in this place. I came in with another cat, Newby, who I would not object to becoming my adoptive brother. As soon as the IL left me, I revisited my remaining breakfast. Yum! If you agree that curiosity does NOT kill the cat, come see me. 9-17-23

Story
BaileyI was telling my bridge group the other day about how I arrived at this hotel for cats. My life-long owner's health was failing, and he could no longer take care of me. This event came as a blow to both of us. I am 8-years-old and unprepared to begin training a human to be a good companion. You can see that I am a lovely, long-haired, solid black kitty of the female persuasion. I have been spayed, and I'm a full-fledged litterbox user. The girls in the group agreed with me when I said I am somewhat prickly regarding new situations and people. I was a bit of a drama queen when they first examined me, but I've become accustomed to living here as time has elapsed. Still, I want to caution those who would like to adopt me to give me plenty of time and patience so that I feel comfortable and welcome in your home. Once I get to know you, I will crave your loving attention. But I am a very independent lady and may ask you to "talk to the paw" if I'm not feeling sociable. Do you enjoy playing bridge? 9-11-23

Story
What can be luckier than 7 kittens born on St. Patrick's Day? My name is Gemma and I was that lucky momma! (I know... how did tiny little me carry that many?!) They are all grown and ready for their new homes now and so am I! I loved being a momma and loved all 7 of my babies... but I am not a big lover of other cats. I do love humans though!! I love attention and affection, love sleeping on my people's bed, and even love being brushed! My favorite thing is mealtime... wet food or cottage cheese are my favs! I have perfect litter box manners and am a very chill kinda girl. I would be happiest as the only pet in the house... or if there are others, I will need a slow introduction and time to adjust. I am so excited to meet you! I was one of four cats that people threw out over the last year. I guess they loved me as a kitten, but when I got older, they were finished caring for me. I am ready for a new start. I had kittens which I loved very much. I am so proud of them and have taken good care of them. I hope that you will want to give me a forever home. Story
I'm Marlie. My owners fell on difficult times and were evicted. I was taken in by a family friend in hopes I could go back home in a few weeks. Sadly, my owners kept making poor decisions and it became clear that they weren't going to get me a safe place to live. I was surrendered to the rescue to find a new home and family. I am 8 years old and can be a little sassy but I am beautiful and just need a chance and someone to be patient with me.

Story
These are not “cuddlers”. These are mostly-grown kittens that came to us from Indy Neighborhood Cats. They were born feral and we have been working on socialization for months. They do NOT like to be picked up, and barely allow us to pet them. But they LOVE playtime with tunnels and cat trees. ADOPTER WILL NEED TO CONTINUE SOCIALIZATION. Azalea is a sweet girl who will only let you pet her on her terms. Larkspur will not let you move him, pick him up, or do anything to him, except pet him sometimes. He was the spiciest kitten when he came to us and hasn't changed much. He does not trust human hands. He needs a covered litter box with no door or he'll overshoot the sides of the litter box. WE WILL ONLY ADOPT THEM AS A BONDED PAIR. Azalea & Larkspur are TRUE long-haired and will play to the point of overheating themselves, and then panting. These cats have not been around dogs or small children. We insist on a cat-only household with children over 12. Azalea & Larkspur are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, tested negative for FIV/FeLV and are microchipped. Approximate date of birth is August 21, 2022. Adoption fee = $75 per cat ($150 total) To adopt, please contact us at centralinfostercats@gmail.com.

She is spayed and up to date on vaccines that are mandatory for her age. She does have 1-2 booster vaccines to the mandatory vaccines that are due soon and or past due. She does come with documentation to prove this and for your records as well. She has also been de-flead and de-wormed. She received Bravecto for the fleas. Which is a 3-month treatment and she also received CapStar as a one-time flea pill which kills for 24 hours. She received ProFender for the worms. She will come with the following items: 3 months' supply of Stronghold Plus Flea Topical 1 Month Treatment each and 3 pills of Capstar which gives you 3 treatment's which only kills for 24 hours when given (she currently does n t have fleas. This is just so you have it for a precaution and to keep her up on her treatment), She also will come with a litter box, a few toys, a few treats and a food and water bowl. She is very loving and playful and would love to be your furever pet and companion. Does well with cats and kids.

ARRRRRGGGG MATEY! Ok so I'm not a pirate but my one eye missing makes me very cool and unique. I just transferred from IACS where people cheered and literally cried as I was leaving because they were so happy for me to find my forever home. I'm such a sweet cat, there's no wonder why I am everyone's favorite. Due to my FeLV+ status, I will need to be the only cat in the household or with others that share my disease.
