Story
Linda is truly a sweet cat that has gotten a bad rap because of behavior and medical issues. I have had her since a kitten and earlier this year she was diagnosed with diabetes and anxiety disorder after having problems using her littler pan. Linda prefers to be a solo cat but with the right introduction would be ok with another cat but absolutely no dogs. Kids probably not either. Anything or anyone with high energy scares her into hiding. She does like attention and would not be a kitty you could leave alone for a week. Obviously her medication but leaving her alone triggers her anxiety and she regresses with bad behavior. It breaks my heart to have to rehome my sweet Linda but with my current job I am away from home too much and cannot give her the attention she needs at this time. She thrives on routine and I am constantly having to have someone come watch her, and give her medications. She is on insulin and Prozac. I just want her to live a happy rest of her life.

Story
These are not “cuddlers”. These are mostly-grown kittens that came to us from Indy Neighborhood Cats. They were born feral and we have been working on socialization for months. They do NOT like to be picked up, and barely allow us to pet them. But they LOVE playtime with tunnels and cat trees. ADOPTER WILL NEED TO CONTINUE SOCIALIZATION. Azalea is a sweet girl who will only let you pet her on her terms. Larkspur will not let you move him, pick him up, or do anything to him, except pet him sometimes. He was the spiciest kitten when he came to us and hasn't changed much. He does not trust human hands. He needs a covered litter box with no door or he'll overshoot the sides of the litter box. WE WILL ONLY ADOPT THEM AS A BONDED PAIR. Azalea & Larkspur are TRUE long-haired and will play to the point of overheating themselves, and then panting. These cats have not been around dogs or small children. We insist on a cat-only household with children over 12. Azalea & Larkspur are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, tested negative for FIV/FeLV and are microchipped. Approximate date of birth is August 21, 2022. Adoption fee = $75 per cat ($150 total) To adopt, please contact us at centralinfostercats@gmail.com.

Story
LucyTo say I am confused about my circumstances is an understatement. I can't remember how many owners I have had over my lifetime. I am 10-years-old and have lived with my latest owner for six months. They are moving, so I came to live at HSHC on September 19. When the medical staff checked me over, I had a painful UTI. I appreciate the medicine I received because now I feel much better. I am a sweet-tempered lady who craves affection. I have a lovely, long grey and white coat and a pretty face. But being so bewildered about my future, I often hid in my litterbox or Kasa. I moved into a foster home so I could relax and feel comfortable. My foster mom said that I blossomed, becoming very affectionate and craving attention. I like to curl up next to you or on your lap. I did come out for pets when the interviewer lady showed up. I rubbed my head against her hand because it felt so good to be touched. I have lived with another cat, and that was very pleasant. I don't know if I ever lived with kids or a dog. I am eating a diet designed to help me avoid UTIs, so I hope never to have one again. If you've wished for a new companion, you should choose me! 12-18-23

Story
BeauThis just in! On 2-25-24, my foster mom reported that I was doing very well. I am sweet-natured and love being close to my humans, sleeping, cuddling, or being in the same room. However, I get startled easily and sometimes jump when people approach me suddenly. I am still very hesitant to be around the cats in the house. I still require plenty of time to learn to trust. On October 31, 2023, I was found in Carmel getting ready to go "trick or treating." I ended up at the HSHC, where I've been treated like a king. Being a stray cat, 6 years old, and unfamiliar with the idea of being a pet, I was freaked out initially. I was given a complete check-up, my live fleas were treated, and I was neutered. I went to live in a foster home to learn to trust people and relax. However, this is when I discovered that I don't like cats! I began to terrorize the boy and girl cat in my foster home. My foster mom had to split us up! She said that when I feel scared (most of the time!) I tend to freeze rather than flee. I let her pick me up, hold me, and even brush me, but I still could not relax and enjoy it. So, I am a unique combination of a bully to cats and a coward with people. I need a confident, patient owner who can give me all the time I need to become a brave family member. Obviously, I should be the only cat in the household. I'll do my best to be courageous! 1-24-24
