Story
Zander is such a sweet boy!. He is very shy, but he is the BIGGEST love bug! Zander has scars on his arms and back and head from being hurt badly in the past, as well as a damaged tail from a break that didn’t heal well. He has been through so much, yet is still the most loving guy. In one of the photos you can see an area on top of his head where the fur was completely missing when he came to us. Since that time he's received quality medical care, nutritional food, and plenty of love and comfort. His fur Is growing back in, his health is back on track, and he has flourished into such a sweet, quiet personality! Zander is very vocal with a huge purr! He has a voice that's very high pitched... he kind of sounds like a goose honking, and he talks/honks a LOT! He has the big cheeks of a male who wasn’t fixed until he was an adult. He loves making air biscuits and just being close to you, and he loves soft beds and blankets, and food. (He is food-driven, likely due to periods of hunger in his early years). Zander also likes catnip, but he has not shown any interest in toys. (We don’t think he knows how to play.) He needs a quiet home. He would do best in a home by himself, no other cats (they scare him.) We're not sure how he feels about dogs. He also is nervous around men. Younger kids are scary, but older, calmer kids seem to be ok. This good boy uses the litter box very well but has medium length fur and litter gets stuck in his pads so he tends to track it everywhere. Our vet estimates Zander at 5-6 years old. Included with the adoption is the kitty's neuter, all current-due FVRCP, FeLeuk, and rabies vaccinations for kitties over 1-year, deworming, flea treatment, a wellness check, FIV/FeLV combo testing, and microchipping. In addition to being fully vetted, our cats and kittens are highly socialized. We offer a 2-week getting acquainted period and a 2-week wellness guarantee, so you can comfortably settle in with your new kitty! To apply to adopt, please complete an adoption inquiry at www.bluesmews.org so our adoption specialist volunteer can review it and contact you!
