Simba, a sibling and their momma were transferred to ARF in mid-March 2024 from an overcrowded shelter. While we recognize that the name Simba is typically associated with being a male name, our little Simba is actually a girl! She is a longhaired, green-eyed beauty! Since arriving, she and the rest of her family needed treatment for worms. She has also been spayed. Simba was able to spend time in one of our loving foster homes, so we have the privilege of knowing some of her preferences. While in foster, Simba got along well with the resident cats, but she is looking for a home with no dogs. She is currently residing in one of the shelter's cage-free "free roam" rooms with some feline buddies. Stop by to meet her! The shelter is open Tuesdays through Fridays 3:30-6:30pm AND Saturdays & Sundays 1pm-4pm. No appointments are needed during those times. If you are not available during those times, special arrangements for a meet and greet may be able to be arranged by emailing arfcats@bereaanimalrescue.com. 9/5/23 This very talkative girl is Mattie. She is a beautiful girl who will need regular grooming/brushing. She loves canned food and will meow at you when she thinks it is dinner time. She is about 10 years old and needs access to canned food. She would do best with a sensitive system food.

Kenneth was brought into our shelter by a good samaritan when he was found as a sick stray. Kenneth unfortunately had to be shaved, so we promise he naturally has long hair, he is just a little bit nakey right now. He is VERY shy, but adores head scratches. Kenneth has been vaccinated, wormed, spayed/neutered and tested negative for FELV/FIV which is all included in the $35 adoption fee. If you would like to adopt this cat, you must come into the shelter for a meet and greet. We are open 12-4. (Closed Mondays & Wednesdays) All cats must leave the shelter in a carrier. Trinity has been vaccinated, wormed, spayed/neutered and tested negative for FELV which is all included in the $35 adoption fee. This cat is FIV positive which means that their immune system could become a little weaker than a non FIV cat. FIV cannot be transmitted to humans or dogs and is only transmitted to other cats through mating and deep puncture wounds. It is not spread via grooming or sharing food bowls or litterboxes. So as long as they like other cats they can be adopted to a home with them whether the existing cats are FIV or not. FIV+ cats live long happy lives and usually live just as long as non FIV cats.
