You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Please contact Jessica (jessicawalton.jw@gmail.com) for more information about this pet.Howdy, I am Chex! I was surrendered to Castaway Critters after my owner passed away unexpectedly. I have grown up with several cats, and even a large dog! I am kid-friendly as well.  I can be a little vocal, but I mostly just love to purr and rub against you. My ideal family would be one with a feline friend already living there OR I have enough love to give you if I am your only cat. I spend most of my days lounging in my bed, getting pets from my foster and hanging with my sister, Pebbles. I would love a window and a cat tree of my own to lay on and watch the birdies in the sun!  I am spayed, up to date on vaccines, microchipped and FIV/FELV negative. If you are interested in adopting me, please apply at www.castawaycritters.org. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 8, 2026, 6:01 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Allow me to introduce to you Miss Justice!   This formerly hard-knock-life street cat has made an entire turn around. Justice is only 3 years young but, believe it or not, she has given birth to about 15 kittens in that short amount of time. She lived behind a bar with her mama, her sisters(gummy rip), and her kittens. Justice endured harsh winters and even harsher people. When she came to Castaway Critters, her tongue was completely split in half and she had glass embedded in her fur and skin.    Now this long-haired, silky, black beauty loves to spend the day on her human's bed, making biscuits instead of kittens! Justice will even let you pet her belly. Hard-knocks no more for this girl... She's got a good thing going indoors and now she has endless time to shower her forever human with affection. Please consider opening your heart and home to Justice!    Justice has been spayed, is up to date on shots, fully litter trained, and microchipped. If you are interested in adopting Justice, apply at https://www.castawaycritters.org/apply-to-adopt .Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 8, 2026, 6:01 pm

Story
Emo’s Special Home Needs Emo is a lovely cat who has been in our care for over ten months, and her story is both touching and unique. During her stay, we discovered that she tested positive for heartworms—a result that deeply surprised us. Unfortunately, heartworm treatment options for cats are not available, so providing Emo with the best possible quality of life is our main priority. Emo’s current health is good, but her ongoing well-being depends on attentive supportive care. She thrives in an environment where she feels safe and comfortable, enriched with stimulating activities and a cozy windowsill where she can bask in the sun. Regular visits to the veterinarian are essential to monitor her health and ensure she remains happy and comfortable. If you are considering giving Emo a forever home, please consult with your veterinarian to discuss her specific needs and ensure you are prepared to provide the supportive care she deserves.

Story
Foxy is a gentle girl, likely a senior with an adorable little permanent "smirk". She came into our care after a family moved away and left cats outside to fend for themselves. Foxy is a petite girl weighing a little over 6 lbs. She has longer fur but she isn't super fluffy. We are not sure of her actual age, she did have a broken canine and another bad tooth that we had removed to help her be more comfortable. She does well with other cats, she seems to enjoy their company as long as they aren't too overbearing. She likes to groom them and just overall hang out. Foxy is a low key girl, she enjoys being pet and affection in general from people. She is not a fan of being held but would likely come to sit with you and maybe get into your lap on her own. She is looking for a quiet home where she will continue to enjoy living inside and being pampered. She has tested negative for FIV/FeLV/heartworms, she is spayed and up to date on all vaccinations. All of our animals are rescued and transported from South Mississippi where major animal overpopulation means less homes. We only transport them once adopted, in most instances, we can be available for a video call once an application has been approved. _______________________________ Considering adoption? Start by filling out our online application (copy and paste the following link) https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/DIX/Cat Once submitted, we’ll review it and reach out to approved applicants by phone or email. A Petfinder Inquiry is not the same as an application - COMPLETED APPLICATIONS TAKE PRECEDENCE OVER INQUIRIES. If you are interested in adopting, the FIRST step is to complete an application. If your application was successfully submitted you will get a generated confirmation email. DO NOT SUBMIT AN APPLICATION IF YOU ARE NOT CURRENTLY READY TO ADOPT. WE PERSONALLY TRANSPORT OUR OWN adopted animals to meet their new families. We transport every 2-3 weeks. We facilitate adoptions through our own internal transport to ensure the quality of care. We travel to VA, MD, PA, NJ, CT, VT, and NY. Our dogs travel in comfort with 24/7 care. We have been facilitating long distance adoptions since 2019. We are currently unable to adopt pets to ME and RI residents

Story
We inherited this cat from my daughter. We are both retired and travel a lot. We have 5 young grandchildren and she does not interact with them well. She also doesn’t like our Yorkie. She spends most of her time hiding when the kids are here and doesn’t interact with them at all. She would do good as an only pet perhaps with someone who is retired. She’s very sweet and deserves a better home.

Not big fans of being held for a long period of time. They do fine with other cats, dogs and kids.If they are not adopted together, they will need another kitty friend near their age/size and energy level (under 3 year old kitty friend).THEY LOVE TREATS!They do get the zoomies and rip around several times a day! But they also nap like champs!Hailey and Harlow are curious about everything and would love to share their humans food (but do not get human food, haha!)These girls have long eyebrows and whiskers.
