Story
Meet Tookie! This handsome little guy is the perfect blend of playful energy and irresistible sweetness. He LOVES to zoom around, chase toys, and explore — but he’s just as happy curling up for cuddles once he’s had his fun. With Tookie, you truly get the best of both worlds: a spirited playmate and a soft, affectionate snuggle buddy. Tookie would be thrilled to have another kitty friend in his forever home. He’s a social boy who enjoys feline companions and would love a buddy who can keep up with his antics. He warms up to humans quickly too — all he asks is a few pets, some gentle attention, and maybe a treat or two to seal the deal. Speaking of treats… Tookie has one adorable quirk: he enjoys an occasional dollop of whipped cream (vet approved, of course!). It’s one of his little joys in life and never fails to make him extra happy. This sweet, joyful boy is ready to bring love, laughter, and endless entertainment into the right home. If you’d like the pleasure of welcoming this wonderful little being into your family, please apply below — Tookie can’t wait to meet you! Story
Meet the Cuddling State Champion, Rosemary! Don't let her "resting grump face" fool you, Rosie is a super social friend who likes nothing more than heated blankets, head scratches and attention. This medium-haired beauty would love to sleep snuggled up right next to you at night. During the day she makes sure to be in the room where the action is! Rosie has come a long way on her wellness journey after a tough start in life surviving on her own. This poor lady came to PAWS in a lot of pain from suspected stomatitis, but after having her teeth removed and some painful mats shaved to reset her beautiful fluffy fur, she is becoming the very best version of herself! Her mouth is recovery slowly but surely from her dental procedure, and she is taking a once daily liquid steroid to keep her mouth comfortable post-op, but we don't anticipate her needing the steroid long-term per se. Rosie does have a heart condition that doesn't affect her daily life and only requires monitoring with periodic vet check ups. She is not in need of any heart medication presently, either! I She has so much love to give and is "all in" on the indoor cat life. If you want a best friend who isn't afraid of anything, Rosie is your lady. Story
True Love Awaits! Westley is a handsome long haired black void kitty with an abundance of charm and affection to offer. When you enter the room, he will enthusiastically greet you with the most adorable meows and chirps. He loves to share in conversation with his humans and will often answer if you ask him questions. When Westley isn't showing off his conversational skills, he enjoys having his silky coat brushed, sitting in a sunny window admiring the outdoors, and hunting his wand toys. When playing, he will perform an impressive array of acrobatics to capture his "prey", and then proudly tote it around between his adorably large fangs. At the end of the day, Westley wants nothing more than to snuggle up beside you and purr himself to sleep. He'll tuck you in with blanket biscuits and keep you warm on chilly nights. Westley shares a home with his foster's four resident cats who he gets along wonderfully with. It is unknown if he has ever met any dogs, but his foster suspects that with a careful introductory period, Westley could also thrive with a canine companion. Westley is currently in diabetic remission. His condition is managed on a Friskies wet food diet and he requires no insulin at this time, though an adopter should be prepared for occasional vet visits for diagnostics to make sure he stays in remission. He would make a great companion to someone who likes to follow a routine, to keep his meals well timed. ------------------------------------ This cat is currently located in a PAWS foster home. Story
The most adorable affectionate tail hugger ever! One of a kind! They say that a child with many names is well loved. Well, a cat with many names is also well loved! Sam Gregannie, also nicknamed “Shadow Chaser,” is an affectionate, social cat that loves to be near you. He gives frequent tail hugs, hops up to meet your hand for a head rub, likes to lay on you, and loves chin scratches. He likes to see your face, and will paw away a blanket to see you, sort of like peek-a-boo. He’s playful and easily satisfied with dangled toys, a laser, and naturally occurring shadows. He likes to look out the window periodically. If allowed to do so, he enjoys sleeping with his owner. Note: He was fostered in a neurodivergent household. He is a chill cat and very easy going. He is skittish around machines (e.g., hair dryer, dish washer) but will just avoid them. He always moves away from the front door; he will not be an escape artist! ------------------------------------ This cat is currently located in a PAWS foster home. Story
Oscar is a free-spirited cat who enjoys a good chase to capture his prey- or even just a fun toy! He is as fast as the wind and eager to prove it to any fly, squirrel, and mouse toy alike. He is super smart and will be the first one to run to the door to greet you or your guests as people come in. He is very clean and litterbox trained, having no accidents. Oscar would love to have a home filled with toys, companionship and snacks! Given his health and history, Oscar would do best in a child-free, pet-free home. He's a lovely, charismatic guy, but he is not above letting you know when he's had enough pets or attention with a little love-nibble or a bop of his paw. He otherwise is a friendly, playful, and hilarious little orange ball of fluff! Our boy Oscar is indeed a special guy. He has a history of occasional coughing, and through diagnostics we've learned he has an enlarged heart +/- possible mild asthma, but with PAWS's limited resources we can't confirm an exact cause for the cough and are mostly monitor his general health. Oscar does get some help twice daily from his trusty inhaler, and it's done wonders to significantly lower his coughing frequency! Coughing aside, Oscar seems pretty happy at this time, and he will benefit from an understanding adopter who can keep up with his care needs and let him remain at his happiest by being an only pet. ------------------------------------ This cat is currently located in a PAWS foster home. Story
Meet Walnut — the ultimate snuggle sidekick! If you’re looking for a cat who will actually hang out with you, Walnut is your guy. This super-social, ultra-friendly cuddle bug settled into his foster home like he’d always been part of the family. He’s got a little tongue that sticks out just a bit, and honestly…it’s ridiculously cute! Between that and his constant purrs, he’s impossible not to fall in love with. Walnut is happiest right next to his people—curled up on a lap during a Netflix binge, stretched out in a patch of sunshine by the window, or following his people around to see what’s happening next. He especially enjoyed playing with the two toddler boys in his foster home, and soaking up affection from everyone he meets. He hasn’t met other animals yet, but since he’s neutered, his FIV+ status will not be an issue in a home with other compatible cats after a slow introduction (see below for more information on FIV). Walnut has allergies that are well controlled. He’s on a special vet-prescribed diet and meds that are helping. Walnut recently had dental surgery and recovered well! He does have a mouth condition called stomatitis, which is common in cats with FIV. Whoever adopts him will need to be prepared to continue his treatment alongside the direction of their full-service veterinarian. What Walnut needs most is a family who will love him as fiercely as he loves them—and trust us, this boy has a lot of love to give! If you want a devoted companion who brings sunshine, snuggles, and endless charm (tiny tongue included), Walnut is ready to brighten your home! ------------------------------------ This cat has tested positive for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV), which is specific to the felines and is not transmissible to dogs, humans, or any other animals. Cats with FIV can live normal, happy, healthy lives, but the virus can weaken a cat's immune system. FIV is spread from cat to cat via mating or deep puncture bite wounds. Thankfully, all our cats are spayed or neutered, so mating is no longer an option! Since FIV does not spread through casual contact like grooming, sneezing, and food/litter sharing, FIV+ cats can live with other cats that have tested negative as long as the cats get along without fighting. Our staff will be happy to tell you more about FIV, and you can learn more about FIV here: phillypaws.org/fiv ------------------------------------ This cat is currently located in a PAWS foster home.
