Despite her rough start, Birdy has grown into a kitten full of love, resilience, and happiness. This girl is extremely lovable and lives for attention. If you’re nearby, Birdy wants to be involved—whether that means playing, cuddling, or showing off her very silly personality. She’s very playful and always ready to turn any moment into fun, keeping her people smiling and entertained. Birdy thrives on interaction and affection and would do wonderfully in a home that enjoys an outgoing, attention-loving companion. She’s proof that even the smallest beginnings can grow into something truly special. Birdy is ready to leave her shelter days behind and start her next chapter in a forever home filled with love, playtime, and plenty of attention. Story
Meet Misu, a handsome brown and white Snowshoe with soft medium-length fur and an even softer heart. This charming boy is as sweet as they come—he loves attention, cuddles, and of course, treats (he never met one he didn’t like!). Misu has lived happily with adults and teens and is especially fond of children, making him a wonderful family companion. His gentle, loving personality shines through in every interaction, whether he’s curling up beside you or waiting patiently for his next snack. If you’re looking for a sweet, family-friendly cat with a big heart (and an even bigger love of treats), Misu might just be your perfect match. Misu has dental disease and had an extraction surgery shortly after coming to PAWS, having all but four of their teeth removed. Those remaining teeth will also likely need treatment and extraction in the near future. He also has a low grade heart murmur.

Story
True Love Awaits! Westley is a handsome long haired black void kitty with an abundance of charm and affection to offer. When you enter the room, he will enthusiastically greet you with the most adorable meows and chirps. He loves to share in conversation with his humans and will often answer if you ask him questions. When Westley isn't showing off his conversational skills, he enjoys having his silky coat brushed, sitting in a sunny window admiring the outdoors, and hunting his wand toys. When playing, he will perform an impressive array of acrobatics to capture his "prey", and then proudly tote it around between his adorably large fangs. At the end of the day, Westley wants nothing more than to snuggle up beside you and purr himself to sleep. He'll tuck you in with blanket biscuits and keep you warm on chilly nights. Westley currently lives in his own room in his foster home, but has seen other cats through the screen door, and his foster believes he would do well sharing a home with other felines (with a proper slow introduction). He could also happily live as a solo kitty. It is unknown if Westley has ever met any dogs. Westley does have diabetes, which means he will need to be fed a prescription diet and receive daily medication to keep him feeling his best. Westley would make a great companion to someone who likes to follow a routine to keep his meals and medication well timed. Westley cannot wait to meet you and share all of his love! He also comes with a 3-month care package of all his medication! ------------------------------------ This cat is currently located in a PAWS foster home. Story
Meet Walnut — the ultimate snuggle sidekick! If you’re looking for a cat who will actually hang out with you, Walnut is your guy. This super-social, ultra-friendly cuddle bug settled into his foster home like he’d always been part of the family. He’s got a little tongue that sticks out just a bit, and honestly…it’s ridiculously cute! Between that and his constant purrs, he’s impossible not to fall in love with. Walnut is happiest right next to his people—curled up on a lap during a Netflix binge, stretched out in a patch of sunshine by the window, or following his people around to see what’s happening next. He especially enjoyed playing with the two toddler boys in his foster home, and soaking up affection from everyone he meets. He hasn’t met other animals yet, but since he’s neutered, his FIV+ status will not be an issue in a home with other compatible cats after a slow introduction (see below for more information on FIV). Walnut is also experiencing some allergies we’re working to get under control; he’s on a special vet-prescribed diet and meds that are helping, though it may take a little trial and error journey for him to feel fully comfortable. Whoever adopts him will need to be prepared to continue his special diet and allergy medication alongside the direction of their full-service veterinarian. Walnut is also recovering from full-mouth extractions of his teeth due to suspected stomatitis. The only 'cure' to this condition is removal of all teeth, but his gums may need a little time to calm back down from the condition. What Walnut needs most, though, is a family who will love him as fiercely as he loves them—and trust us, this boy has a lot of love to give! If you want a devoted companion who brings sunshine, snuggles, and endless charm (tiny tongue included), Walnut is ready to brighten your home! ------------------------------------ This cat has tested positive for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV), which is specific to the felines and is not transmissible to dogs, humans, or any other animals. Cats with FIV can live normal, happy, healthy lives, but the virus can weaken a cat's immune system. FIV is spread from cat to cat via mating or deep puncture bite wounds. Thankfully, all our cats are spayed or neutered, so mating is no longer an option! Since FIV does not spread through casual contact like grooming, sneezing, and food/litter sharing, FIV+ cats can live with other cats that have tested negative as long as the cats get along without fighting. Our staff will be happy to tell you more about FIV, and you can learn more about FIV here: phillypaws.org/fiv This cat's adoption fee is waived! ------------------------------------ This cat is currently located in a PAWS foster home. Story
Sally O'Finnegan puts the cat AND the obsession into finding a nice Catholic girl to settle down with (yes, even if they're Portstewart)! Sally was only recently surrendered to PAWS, arriving at our adoption center the same day she came into our care (so you'll have to excuse her right now for being a little visibly stressed). Her most recent owners took her in from another family member for only a few weeks, but unfortunately someone in the new home was highly allergic to her. Once she does settle in though, Sally is quite the charmer and wants nothing more than to be around her humans getting plenty of cuddles and attenion, so give her a little space to start and in no time you'll find out how little space she wants to give you. Sally still enjoys playing and interacting, especially with any feathery wand toys. Sally O'Finnegan would likely do best in a home at your only pet, and ideally a quieter home without too much foot traffic. While she loves people, she can sometimes take a little time to warm up and likes to keep her circle small. Older and cat-savvy children could also be alright, but she probably doesn't want to feel like she needs to babysit and toddlers. ------------------------------------ This cat is currently located at PAWS Old City Adoption Center located at 100 North 2nd Street, Philadelphia, PA 19106. This location prioritizes appointments made by already approved applicants, but we can also accommodate browsers and walk-ins if and as our capacity allows. To ensure your best experience and best chance at meeting your new furry family member, we recommend completing the application ahead of your visit, which you can find at phillypaws.org/catapp. If you have any questions, feel free to email adoptions@phillypaws.org or call 215-238-9901 ext.30.

Story
Gaya is a gorgeous older lady with silky long hair and the sweetest soul. She’s the kind of cat who immediately welcomes you home and is always ready to curl up beside you, purring away, or flop into your lap for cuddles. Despite her dignified age, she hasn’t lost her playful spark, and she loves being part of whatever you’re doing. She spends most of her day following her foster parents around the house and settling down just within reach. Gaya thrives on attention and chin scratches, making her a perfect match for someone looking for a gentle, affectionate companion. Her calm and friendly nature means she’s happy to meet new people and will quickly win over anyone who crosses her path. She is a celebrity with guests who come over to her foster's house, as she selects one person each week to jump up on and demand scratches from. If you’re looking for a loyal, loving cat who wants a restful and joyful home in her senior years, Gaya is your perfect match. Gaya recently had a small mammary mass removed from her tummy, the biopsy for which confirmed a fully excised low-grade (stage 1) cancerous mass. There is no evidence of metastasis elsewhere in Gaya's body and no further masses at present, and her quality of life right now is great, so we recommend an adopter monitor her tummy for any future regrowth and keep in touch with a trusted vet to make sure she stays happy and healthy while entering her golden years. ------------------------------------ This cat is currently located in a PAWS foster home.
