Leah is a big fluffy Muppet who is confident around people and cats who respect her independence. Leah's foster family describes her as a lovely mix of couch potato and snuggle-bug. She enjoys people’s company on her terms—you can hold her and she'll come up and sit next to you in bed. She loves a warm cat bed during the day, but will also join folks for some TV time on the couch when she's feeling more outgoing. She can live with other calm, respectful, "roommate-style" kitties but won't be jazzed about very assertive, pushy cats. Leah has gorgeous long fur that needs regular brushing to prevent tangles and mats, but thankfully she loves a good brushing session!! She has beautiful green eyes and puts on the most mesmerizing intense stare when she wants something. While Leah appreciates being given the choice on when she wants to interact with people, she'll often seek out pets and lovin' as a result. When Leah gets a little overexcited, she will warn you with a swishing tail before gently giving a little bat to let you know if she's had enough attention for the time being. Leah is in remission from diabetes, and her blood sugar is controlled by a strict diet of low-carb wet food pate (such as Friskies pate). A lovely distinguished granny kitty who adores being around her people. Trinity is a kitty who knows what she wants and has opinions on everything. Her calm presence is complimented by a vocal personality. In her golden cat years Trinity enjoys exploring her environment and following her person around the house. She's incredibly friendly around strangers, often curious about anyone new entering her environment, going up to them and allowing them to pet her. When she deems you worthy she might even offer up licks as a way of showing her affection in return. While she is super friendly she does prefer a calm environment that will allow her to quietly nap in peace. She isn't picky about where she naps as long as it's comfortable. She'll flop on anything from a fancy couch to a shoebox. Bonus points if there's a spot with a good amount of sunlight as she does enjoy midday sunbathing. When she wakes up you'll be rewarded with the cutest "one toothed wonder" yawn. Trinity would be an excellent companion for folks who work from home. She's most content when in the presence of her people. She loves getting head scratches and being brushed. But she understands that you might be busy and can't always attend to her needs. In those instances she's more than happy to self groom and enjoys rubbing her fluffy face on any brush and non-brush surfaces. Trinity is also the type to voice her concerns if you aren't giving her the attention she needs. Scarab is secretly a sweet little guy who, once he's had a few minutes to warm up, can be really curious and playful, and he loves toys! He's a gorgeous little tabby who just need a little TLC time in a home to recover from a common skin infection called ringworm. ------------------------------------ This pet is currently being treated for ringworm, a mild fungal infection of the skin that usually clears up within 6-8 weeks of starting treatment. Ringworm care can actually be a breeze with the right set-up and if you have the time to dedicate to it, but it can be a bit tedious since it can spread easily to any living creature and requires some caution to prevent that. Unless the home has enough space to keep everyone fully and safely separated, we would love to find a home without any really young kids or other pets, just to limit the risk of exposure. All the follow-up care we provide for your ringworm pet is free of charge at our Grays Ferry clinic while they finish their treatment with you, and this cat’s adoption fee is waived! This baby lovebug has a silly side! Viridian is the sweetest boy you’ll ever meet. Viridian is a four-month-old male kitten who is the true definition of a cuddlebug. He’ll rub against your leg, spend his free time snuggling with his people, and was probably a world-famous biscuit maker in a past life. If you’re having a bad day, Viridian is happy to ease your woes with the most comforting cuddles and purrs. This happy boy loves to play with his siblings, Cobalt and Umber, and a wand toy will keep him endlessly entertained. Viridian would be happiest sharing a home with his sibling(s) or another cat he can play with. Viridian is talkative and loves to chirp. Expect plenty of silly conversations! Viridian is neutered and in great health. He’s an easygoing guy; he makes feeding, using his litter box, and getting into his carrier a breeze. Meet Pam, one of our favorite super seniors! She's a granny cat with big opinions packed into a tiny package. Pam likes to snuggle on you or at your feet on the couch. Her second favorite place to nap is curled up in a soft and cozy kitty bed. She'll greet you with lots of kisses (licks, no nibbles), and enjoys being petted. She is enthusiastic about mealtimes and Churu treats! Pam is an older gal, so firmly in her 'couch potato' years and her legs aren't as strong as they used to be, so she'll appreciate some kitty steps to get up onto furniture. She needs a household that can treat her gently, like the regal senior queen she is! She spends much of her time enjoying a nice snooze, and since she's hard of hearing, she appreciates touch or visual cues get her attention. Pam would prefer to be the queen bee of your household-- she'll tolerate other laid back kitties if they give her ample space, but she may prefer to rule the roost and be your only pet. MEET REMY! This beautiful little guy is named Remy! Remy is around 8-9 years old and came to the rescue after a rough start. He was found as a stray in the dead of winter in Philadelphia and brought to the shelter. He was very underweight with painful teeth, an eye infection, an upper respiratory infection and no interest in eating. Still, he never stopped purring through it all. Six months of vet care later, including having ALL of his teeth removed, Remy is a whole new cat! Bright-eyed, healthy coat, filling in, and finally food-motivated! Remy is now strong enough to do every day cat things like grooming himself, chasing string toys, and watching birds from the window (nap schedule permitting). He’s absolutely making up for lost time! Now that Remy has fully recovered from his stint of homelessness, he’s ready to level up to ‘family member’. As his health improved, Remy’s personality really shone. He's a professional napper who progresses from couch to laps to necks to full-on "scarf mode” if you lay down! When he’s feeling especially festive, he'll roll over for belly rubs. He purrs constantly, so close enough to your ear, you can skip the white noise machine at night. He has a few quirks like not loving to be brushed in some spots though it’s important to maintain his now lush coat. He has the occasional kitty-zoomy but is otherwise a calm, cuddly presence who'd rather be doted on than doing literally anything else. Remy doesn’t meow, most likely because he can’t. He just does a soft whine when he's unhappy, which fits perfectly with this overall wonky charm. Remy isn’t big on other animals or chaotic energy, though gentler, older kids should be fine. What he really wants is a quiet home where he can be a little black puddle on the couch, interrupted only for pets or lap time. Looking for an easy and beautiful little shadow? Remy’s your man!
