Story
Meet Misu, a handsome brown and white Snowshoe with soft medium-length fur and an even softer heart. This charming boy is as sweet as they come—he loves attention, cuddles, and of course, treats (he never met one he didn’t like!). Misu has lived happily with adults and teens and is especially fond of children, making him a wonderful family companion. His gentle, loving personality shines through in every interaction, whether he’s curling up beside you or waiting patiently for his next snack. If you’re looking for a sweet, family-friendly cat with a big heart (and an even bigger love of treats), Misu might just be your perfect match. Misu has dental disease and had an extraction surgery shortly after coming to PAWS, having all but four of their teeth removed. Those remaining teeth will also likely need treatment and extraction in the near future. He also has a low grade heart murmur.

Story
Sweet and fluffy Sebastian is seeking a calm home where he can be absolutely spoiled and adored! Even after a strain of tough luck, Sebastian is such a kind, and gentle soul. He is a sweetheart with extra-long whiskers and an even bigger heart. This gentle boy loves nothing more than curling up for cuddle time, especially once he’s picked out the coziest hiding spot in the house. If you enjoy a cat who can make you laugh with his playful hide-and-seek antics and then melt onto your lap for snuggles, Sebastian is your guy. He’s wonderful with kids and brings a calm, affectionate presence to any home. Sebastian is neutered and fully up to date on his vaccinations, so he’s all ready to meet his forever family. Sebastian does have a low-grade heart murmur, which doesn’t stop him from enjoying life, but his future family should keep up with routine vet check-ins to ensure he stays healthy and happy. If you’re looking for a loving, gentle companion with a quirky, cozy charm, Sebastian is waiting to meet you! ------------------------------------ This cat is currently located in a PAWS foster home. Story
True Love Awaits! Westley is a handsome long haired black void kitty with an abundance of charm and affection to offer. When you enter the room, he will enthusiastically greet you with the most adorable meows and chirps. He loves to share in conversation with his humans and will often answer if you ask him questions. When Westley isn't showing off his conversational skills, he enjoys having his silky coat brushed, sitting in a sunny window admiring the outdoors, and hunting his wand toys. When playing, he will perform an impressive array of acrobatics to capture his "prey", and then proudly tote it around between his adorably large fangs. At the end of the day, Westley wants nothing more than to snuggle up beside you and purr himself to sleep. He'll tuck you in with blanket biscuits and keep you warm on chilly nights. Westley currently lives in his own room in his foster home, but has seen other cats through the screen door, and his foster believes he would do well sharing a home with other felines (with a proper slow introduction). He could also happily live as a solo kitty. It is unknown if Westley has ever met any dogs. Westley does have diabetes, which means he will need to be fed a prescription diet and receive daily medication to keep him feeling his best. Westley would make a great companion to someone who likes to follow a routine to keep his meals and medication well timed. Westley cannot wait to meet you and share all of his love! He also comes with a 3-month care package of all his medication! ------------------------------------ This cat is currently located in a PAWS foster home. Story
Oscar is a free-spirited cat who enjoys a good chase to capture his prey- or even just a fun toy! He is as fast as the wind and eager to prove it to any fly, squirrel, and mouse toy alike. He is smart and will be the first one to run to the door to greet you or your guests as people come in. He is very clean and litterbox trained, having no accidents. Despite his FeLV+ diagnosis, and aside from the occasional once-a-week cough, Oscar does not require daily medical care and will love to have a home filled with toys, companionship and snacks! Given his health and history, Oscar would do best in a child-free, pet-free home. He's a lovely guy but he is not above letting you know when he's had enough pets or attention with a little love-nibble or a bop of his paw. He otherwise is a friendly, playful, and hilarious little orange ball of fluff! Our boy Oscar is indeed a special guy. He is considered a hospice kitty due to a combination of suspected IBD and an undetermined heart issue that causes him to cough. Because of his FeLV and PAWS's limited resources, we are not able to get a cardio workup done for Oscar, to better determine what heart condition(s) he has and how best to potentially treat them. We are instead opting for a palliative care approach-- we monitor his symptoms in foster care (which are presently very minimal- he seems pretty happy at this time!) and will try to keep him as comfortable as possible if any signs of discomfort appear or increase. We don't want to put undue stress on his body with invasive procedures, and are focusing on letting him live out whatever remaining time he has in a calm, quiet, comfortable space. For more information, please chat with a PAWS staff member! ------------------------------------ This cat has tested positive for Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV), which is specific to the felines and is not transmissible to dogs, humans, or any other animals. Cats with FeLV can live normal, happy, healthy lives—but it weakens the immune system, causing a shorter life expectancy than cats without FeLV. At PAWS, we believe every pet deserves to live out their life in a loving home for whatever time they have. We hope you'll consider opening your home to this special kitty! FeLV can spread to other cats, so they should live in a cat-free home or with other FeLV+ cats. Our staff will be happy to tell you more about FeLV, and you can learn more about FeLV here: phillypaws.org/felv FeLV+ adopters are also eligible for an Amazon gift card after adoption and this cat's adoption fee is waived. ------------------------------------ This cat is currently located in a PAWS foster home. Story
Meet Walnut — the ultimate snuggle sidekick! If you’re looking for a cat who will actually hang out with you, Walnut is your guy. This super-social, ultra-friendly cuddle bug settled into his foster home like he’d always been part of the family. He’s got a little tongue that sticks out just a bit, and honestly…it’s ridiculously cute! Between that and his constant purrs, he’s impossible not to fall in love with. Walnut is happiest right next to his people—curled up on a lap during a Netflix binge, stretched out in a patch of sunshine by the window, or following his people around to see what’s happening next. He especially enjoyed playing with the two toddler boys in his foster home, and soaking up affection from everyone he meets. He hasn’t met other animals yet, but since he’s neutered, his FIV+ status will not be an issue in a home with other compatible cats after a slow introduction (see below for more information on FIV). Walnut has allergies that are well controlled. He’s on a special vet-prescribed diet and meds that are helping. Walnut recently had dental surgery and recovered well! He does have a mouth condition called stomatitis, which is common in cats with FIV. Whoever adopts him will need to be prepared to continue his treatment alongside the direction of their full-service veterinarian. What Walnut needs most is a family who will love him as fiercely as he loves them—and trust us, this boy has a lot of love to give! If you want a devoted companion who brings sunshine, snuggles, and endless charm (tiny tongue included), Walnut is ready to brighten your home! ------------------------------------ This cat has tested positive for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV), which is specific to the felines and is not transmissible to dogs, humans, or any other animals. Cats with FIV can live normal, happy, healthy lives, but the virus can weaken a cat's immune system. FIV is spread from cat to cat via mating or deep puncture bite wounds. Thankfully, all our cats are spayed or neutered, so mating is no longer an option! Since FIV does not spread through casual contact like grooming, sneezing, and food/litter sharing, FIV+ cats can live with other cats that have tested negative as long as the cats get along without fighting. Our staff will be happy to tell you more about FIV, and you can learn more about FIV here: phillypaws.org/fiv This cat's adoption fee is waived! ------------------------------------ This cat is currently located in a PAWS foster home. Story
Just look at that face! This wobbly guy is Richter, and he's ready to capture your heart. Richter has CH or Cerebellar Hypoplasia, which is a neurological condition that causes imbalance and jerky movements. Richter's case is on the more complex side, but his mobility has improved in foster care. This fluffy guy is a playful and confident purring machine! He also loves being held and laying laps! He alternates between long naps in his favorite chair and long periods of play around the house throughout the day. He loves churu, spring toys, and dangling toys! Depending on his mood, he enjoys being pet, but often will get mouthy and handsy. He's looking for an adopter who can help him work on his manners. While Richter likes other cats, his play style can be a bit much for them, so he would love to find a tolerant and playful buddy to help redirect his kitten energy. While Richter uses the litter box, because of his CH, he needs a lower litter box set up and an adopter willing to help him with his litter box hygiene. We would be happy to tell you more details about what his foster mom found to work for his bathroom habits. If you're ready for a wobbly bundle of happy energy in your home, please reach out to adoptions@phillypaws.org to learn more about Richter! ------------------------------------ This cat is currently located in a PAWS foster home.
