Story
It's with a hearty yo-ho-ho and a bottle of catnip oil that we happily present to you Captain Anchovy! The Capt is eager to pull up the anchor and set sail on a new and exciting voyage to the undiscovered land of your furniture (well, at least undiscovered to him), and while he has shown himself to be a bit weary of unknown ports and their accompanied landlubbers, The Capt recently has shown a quicker turnaround when it comes to regaining his confidence and comfort in new settings. He is an affectionate and social kitty who isn't afraid to speak up or even stand up to request attention and cheek scritches from his new and old friends alike! One of his most endearing habits, albeit a bit quirky for a man of the seas, The Capt enjoys take some of his daily naps comforts and confines of a bathtub. But, he doesn't enjoy getting wet, so you may do well to start checking behind the curtain before you start drawing a bath, lest 'ye risk getting called out for mutiny! Mayor Marion Barry and Captain Anchovy are currently sharing a room together at our adoption center after sharing a large chunk (if not all) of their lives together in a previous home, but as time tends to do with some relationships they aren't really as close with each other as they may have been in their youth and would be just as fine finding a new home on their own as they would staying together. Both The Mayor and The Capt love expressing and requesting attention from their families, with The Capt typically needing a little more time to regain his confidence and get his sea legs back when sailing on a new (relation)ship. Based on our observations of them at our shelter and previously in foster care, if they are adopted separately we believe The Mayor would do fine in a home that already has another older, low energy, and social feline while The Capt would prefer to either be entirely on his own or continuing coexisting with The Mayor.
