Story
Meet Lazuli!🐾 This boy came to the BC SPCA in a recent intake of over 200 cats from Houston, BC and is now looking for a home to call his own. Lazuli is sweet as pie and always comes to staff for cuddles and lap time. He is a vocal purr machine ready for all the love and affection you have to offer.Lazuli will do best in a calm home with other cats to keep him company and teach him the ropes of being a spoiled house cat. He is still a bit nervous of the hustle and bustle, but we believe that over time, older children and calm dogs may also be acceptable to him, but we recommend a slow introduction for everyone's safety and comfort. He came from a home with various illnesses present and has gone through a quarantine period, but potential adopters will need to read through some information on what to look for as he gets back to tip-top shape.Want to welcome this love-bug home? Story
This quiet pair arrived at our shelter late October of 2023, as their owner could no longer care for them due to health complications. Understandably, these two have been quite timid for the majority of their time here as shelter life can be extremely stressful and scary for cats, especially older ones. Throughout their stay, however, the pair has slowly started coming out of their shells with much patience and the help of our dedicated cat socialization volunteers, suggesting they may become full of personality some day. Buttons and Oriel are easily startled cats, which leads us to believe they would do best in a low activity household with no other animals. Oriel is slightly more understanding and tolerant than her sister and enjoys head and back petting, while Buttons enjoys very gentle head petting but will certainly let you know when enough is enough with a hiss (don't take it personally, she's just sensitive!). They both enjoy the occasional wet food treat along with a secure place to hide filled with comfortable bedding, and while it isn't necessary, they would thrive if they had a room designated just for them! These lovely girls are in need of someone who has experience with cats that have complicated personalities; someone who is very patient, understanding, and isn't opposed to having a pair that enjoy their own space and aren't big on cuddling but enjoy having a caregiver to look out for them. If you're someone who is in need of two diamonds in the rough to keep you company, please consider applying for Buttons and Oriel today!
