Story
Sam is looking for a new family - We have known Sam since he was a 6 week old kitten who was abandoned underneath our deck along with his 4 siblings. We took them in, got them healthy and they were all adopted out to different family members. Sam went to live with Grandma who lovingly took care of him for almost 10 years before she passed away. Unfortunately, her love of Sam and her confusion in her later years means he never went without a full bowl a food. Sam is a big boy! Sam has been living with us for about the last year and he is a cuddle bug! He loves cuddling up on the couch, sleeping at my feet in bed and getting head scratches from the kids. We need find a new place for Sam to be loved because not only are all of us (2 adults, 2 kids) various levels of allergic to cats, but we have also relocated from a house into a smaller apartment and Sam does not seem like he is as happy as he once was with sharing his space with everyone all the time.

Story
MEET CONCORD! Concord was rescued from Devore Animal Shelter in November 2024, along with her mom Fontana and siblings Daytona, Sonoma, and Darlington. Just a month old at the time, she was fortunate to leave the shelter behind early and grow up in the comfort and safety of a loving foster home. Raised with her family—fondly nicknamed the “Nascar family”—Concord has blossomed into a joyful, affectionate, and resilient kitten. Concord is a playful, loving girl with a big heart and an even bigger purr. She adores chin scratches, tummy rubs, and flopping over to show off her belly in hopes of some well-earned affection. While she’s always up for racing through crinkle chutes or playing with her favorite toys, Concord is also a survivor—she bravely overcame FIP with the help of an 84-day treatment and made a full recovery. She carries a small cloud in one eye from her illness, but it doesn’t affect her vision or slow her down in the least. Energetic, athletic, and endlessly curious, she climbs, explores, and plays with gusto. She gets along wonderfully with other cats and absolutely loves human attention, making her a well-rounded and delightful companion. Concord is especially close to her sister Daytona, and the two are often found cuddled up, playing together, or zooming through the house in tandem. While they would love to be adopted together, Concord is also available as a solo kitty to the right home ready to shower her with love and playtime. If you’re ready to give this spirited sweetheart her forever home, visit www.kittydevorerescue.org to apply today! ** Concord resides in a Kitty Devore Rescue foster home in San Marcos, CA.

Story
MEET KYLO REN! Kylo Ren's journey began in true hero-in-the-making fashion: a tiny underdog facing impossible odds. He was surrendered to Devore Animal Shelter in September 2025 at just 4 weeks old -- far too young to survive on his own. In years past, kittens under 8 weeks without mothers were automatically euthanized, but today the shelter calls on rescue partners like Kitty Devore Rescue when their own fosters are full and gives us until day's end to intervene. For Kylo, that lifeline opened the door to a whole new galaxy. A temporary foster stepped up instantly to guide him through his vulnerable neonatal stage, and when he was nearly three months old and strong enough to join a star system of his own, a long-term foster family welcomed him in. It was his foster mom's husband -- an avid Star Wars fan -- who looked at this tiny, dark-furred apprentice and christened him Kylo Ren. Despite the fearsome Sith-Lord name, Kylo Ren's heart is firmly on the Light Side. This sleek little panther is all warmth, purrs, and devotion. His favorite place in the universe is anywhere he can curl up against you -- chest, arms, lap, or shoulder -- becoming your personal pocket-sized co-pilot. He's impressively well-mannered for a youngling: fully litter-box reliable, a respectful scratcher, and a gentle, mindful player. His playtime missions include chasing comet-like wand toys, batting at planets disguised as bouncy balls, and investigating every crinkly artifact in his orbit. Social by nature, Kylo adores other cats, gets along beautifully with kids, and even considers dogs suitable members of his intergalactic alliance. If you're seeking a kitten who brings both cosmic charm and down-to-earth affection, Kylo Ren is ready to join your crew -- no lightsaber required. To adopt this playful, cuddly, star-bright companion, visit www.kittydevorerescue.org and submit an adoption application. Once approved, an adoption officer will guide you through the next steps on your journey. Bring Kylo home... and may the purrs be with you.

Story
MEET LEONHARD! This spunky guy was approximately 6 weeks old when he entered Kitty Devore foster care in June of 2024. Leonhard instantly stood out as the loudest member of his family, singing the song of his people the entire car ride home from the shelter. He had a lot of questions and concerns that he wanted to share with management, most of which involved food. (Even with a severe kitten cold, his appetite never waned.) He has a fearless approach to life that is most evident in his tussles with the robot vacuum. Only the bravest of cats is willing to face such a foe. But Leonhard also has a soft side that shows when he asks to be picked up and cuddled, falls asleep draped over a shoulder on the back of the couch, or snuggles up with his foster brother. He runs to the door when his foster parents get home and greets strangers as if he has known them forever. At the heart of his talkative nature is a desire to be acknowledged and loved. Leonhard’s left eye sometimes gets weepy, and the vet thinks he might breathe loudly from time to time because of his crooked nose, but these things can’t keep a big boss kitty down. He has friends to make, toys to play with, laps to sleep on, and a whole world to explore. Because of his active spirit, Leonhard needs to be in a home with another kitty that can keep him entertained. He would love to be adopted with his foster brother, Harlo, the yin to his yang. Shy kitties may not appreciate Leonhard’s aggressive approach. There are no dogs in his foster home, but he has been introduced to canines and instantly loved them. Are you looking for a furry bestie that will take an interest in all of your activities and have an unwavering dedication to being your miniature shadow? Fill out an application at www.kittydevorerescue.org for Leonhard today!

Story
Meet Daytona — your front-row seat to joy! Daytona came into rescue life early, along with her mom Fontana, and siblings Concord, Sonoma, and Darlington, after the NASCAR family was pulled from Devore Animal Shelter in November 2024. Just a month old at the time, Daytona has no memory of the shelter—only the safety, affection, and steady love she’s known ever since. Raised in a foster home with her family, she has blossomed into a confident, healthy, and irresistibly affectionate young cat. Daytona is pure kinetic happiness. A playful little dynamo, she’s always on the move—racing through crinkle chutes, wrestling with her siblings, and proudly parading her beloved crunch balls clenched in her mouth like hard-won trophies. Her energy is infectious, and her antics are guaranteed to make you laugh daily. But don’t let the zoomies fool you—Daytona has a wonderfully tender side. She greets people with an enthusiastic flop onto her back, paws splayed wide in an open invitation for love. She adores lap time, purrs like a tiny engine warming up, and genuinely craves connection. Human companionship lights her up just as much as feline play. Daytona shares a special bond with her sister Concord, who matches her playful spirit and affectionate nature step for step. The two are often found together and would be thrilled to continue life as a duo in their forever home. That said, Daytona can be adopted on her own if the right situation comes along. If you’re ready to welcome a little zoom, a lot of love, and a kitten who will make every day brighter, visit www.kittydevorerescue.org to apply to adopt Daytona today.

Story
MEET DARLINGTON aka MR. WOBBLES! Darlington was rescued from Devore Animal Shelter in November 2024, just a month old at the time, along with his mom, Fontana, and siblings Concord, Sonoma, and Daytona. Too young to remember the shelter, Darlington has only known the warmth and love of his foster home, where he and his "NASCAR family" have grown up safe, healthy, and cherished. Full of affection and playful charm, Darlington is a gentle soul who delights in chin scratches, lap snuggles, and cozy companionship. He's a proud crunch ball collector, often seen trotting around with one in his mouth, and finds joy in racing through crinkle chutes or tumbling in boxes. Darlington is also a true survivor—at just three months old, he lost mobility in both hind legs due to FIP. But after a successful 84-day treatment and a lot of love, he made an incredible and miraculous recovery. He regained full mobility again! Though he still walks with a slight wobble, it only adds to his sweetness and has earned him the nickname "Mr. Wobbles." His resilient spirit, soft purrs, and deep love for people and other cats make him a joy to be around. Darlington is especially bonded to his brother, Sonoma—their days filled with play, cuddles, and companionship. They would love to be adopted together, but Darlington is also available on his own to a loving home, ready to celebrate his unique spark. If you're ready to open your heart to this steady, unwavering, wobbling bundle of love and resilience, visit www.kittydevorerescue.org to apply to adopt Darlington today! ** Darlington and Sonoma both reside in a Kitty Devore Rescue foster home in San Marcos, CA.
