Has this cat ever bitten another animal YesWhat were the circumstances /My other cat but never any punctures or infections.Just clumps of hair found around my house and scratches on my other catHas this cat ever bit a person? YEs.Did the bitebreak skin and bleed? YesWhat date did the bite occur?9/6/2023What location did the bite occur in? (Ex., park, home, car) KnuckleWhat was the pet doing before the bite? (Ex. playing with toy, eating, drinking) / ¿Qué hacía lamascota antes de la mordedura? (Ej. jugar con juguetes, comer, beber)He ate dog medication so I was getting him in the carrier to take him to the vet and i startled him, scruffinghim and tried to force him in. He resisted, bit mePlease select any behaviors observed before the bite: Scared meowingWere any resources involved: Nothing - Who did the pet bite? Woman Age of the person bit? He bit me, his owner who he loved. 36 years oldHad the injured party interacted with this animal before? If yes, please explain::Yes he loved me, I was his owner. I scared him and that’s why he bitPlease describe the injury in detail (Ex., location of the injury, number of bites/punctures,lacerations, bruising): Puncture that eventually needed surgery on my knuckle to drain the infection a month later. It didn’tgetinfected right away because I scrubbed it for 15 mins but a deep puncture pushed bacteria way down into my joint and it became septicWhere are the litterboxes located? He goes outside mostly but would use it in the winter. It was in my home office in a cornerPlease describe what you think the best home for this cat would be: A patient, cat loving and cat understanding woman with no other pets. I truly could see him warming up toa lady and enjoying life. Or a working barn cat scenario because he has always been indoor/outdoor so itmight be really hard to keep him in. With that I worry he will just run away and be a stray again. Is there anything else you would like to tell us? I do not want him back but I hope he finds a good home. I do not want to know the outcome. Thank you for taking care of him.

Story
Who are our Working Cats? Some cats are not social enough to live as indoor pets, and prefer an independent lifestyle. These cats have experience living outdoors and are proficient mousers. Since these kitties are happier and more successful outdoors, we put them to work in homes, farms, and businesses where they can do what they do best. All our blue collar kitties are spayed/neutered, ear tipped, and fully vaccinated. Why hire a Working Cat? By hiring a blue collar kitty, you can avoid using toxic pesticides, save money on a pest control service, and provide a home to a cat in need. Adoption fees are waived for our Working Cats. Cats are also more effective than other methods of pest control because they act as a deterrent! If you are interested in adopting a Working Cat, please visit the shelter in person to start the process.

Story
Timid F2 Savannah Cat Seeking Quiet, Patient Home Born December 2023, this stunning 1-year-old F2 Savannah is a shy, curious girl looking for the right environment to thrive. She hasn’t meshed well with her two current cat housemates and would do best as the only pet or with a confident, dominant cat she can’t intimidate. She loves to nap and eat, and although she currently avoids affection, it’s more from a lack of trust than disinterest. She tends to hide or stay close to walls, but when she feels safe and unobserved, her playful and inquisitive side shines through. She needs a calm, loving home with someone experienced, patient, and attentive—someone willing to invest time in building trust and gently correcting behaviors. In the right hands, she has the potential to bond deeply and blossom into a loyal, affectionate companion. She is fully healthy and up to date on care. A rare beauty ready for a second chance at feeling safe, loved, and truly at home.

Story
Hi! My name is Jax and I am a 2 1/2 year old American short-hair. I was rescued by my mom and dad when I was just 1 month old along with my brother who was just 2 months old! Jax adjusted to a new home pretty quickly and became very hungry all the time! Unfortunately, over time he has not loved being in a home where people are always coming in and out and there are kids. He is so snuggly & cuddly, but only when he feels very secure and it is quiet. Over the past year, he has become less tolerant of his environment and really needs somewhere that will not only give him constant attention, but where he can lay around without being disturbed. He warms up to new people very fast and will love you if you respect his space. He does not like being picked up and hugged but loves to be pet! Because our family wants him to go to the best home, if we see fit, we do not believe/want to collect an adoption fee. This cat is so wonderful and to put a price on him is just not what we want.
