Story
Meet Shakerina, an adorable kitten who wiggles her way into our hearts. Despite being a Cerebellar Hypoplasia kitten, she is a feisty little bundle of joy, and her loving home has made special accommodations to meet her needs. Shakerina has been cautious around stairs, preferring to stay on the first floor for her safety. For her litter box, she uses a high-walled design that supports her perfectly, and she’s truly mastered it! When it comes to mealtime, she eats from a silicone bowl that cushions her as she enjoys her food, allowing her to eat comfortably without worrying about her teeth. When she roams freely around the house, Shakerina loves to jump, hop, and run! There are times when she takes a break to coordinate her movements, but once she’s refreshed, she’s back to being a lively little jumping bean! This sweet girl is also a love bug, with her purring being utterly irresistible! Shakerina’s foster mom is deeply invested in her adoption. She would like the adopter to stay in touch, as she finds it hard to let go of this special kitten. With seven cats of her own, including three with special needs, she is committed to continuing her fostering journey. Shakerina is ready to bring endless joy to a loving home!

Story
Greystone - male - roamed the earth with dinosaurs Kidding! Sort of. This handsome fellow was scheduled to be euthanized the day he came to HoM. He’s old, and he was painful. Miserable, actually. It was believed he had cancer or something in his abdomen that was causing his discomfort, but it turned out to be two large bladder stones! We got him started on pain medication, prescription food, and some TLC, and he’s been living his best life with his adoring foster mom ever since.

Story
Remy came to our rescue after he was seized by animal control at BARCs animal shelter. Remy had been repeatedly abused by his previous owner, resulting in degloving of his chin which makes his tongue stick out a little bit., He is completely healed and eats fine, and has a great prognosis. Remy loooooves his foster family, especially his foster Mom and her daughter. He loves to be pet and cuddled, and will rub on your legs and make biscuits. He also purrs and chirps- he has a lot to say! Remy is so deserving of a loving forever family and a happily ever after.

Story
Remember our guy George Bailey we pulled last week? He was just hours from his “time stamp” when we committed to saving him. He’s FeLV positive and appears to have suffered some sort of head trauma or a stroke. We sent out further diagnostics, and he came back with regressive feline leukemia. What does this mean for George Bailey? • Low viral load • His immune system is controlling the virus • He has a much lower risk of transmission to other cats • George Bailey is likely to remain healthy for many years! What George Bailey needs: • Indoor-only lifestyle • Regular vet care • Another FeLV+ cat, a vaccinated buddy, or a calm solo home We all have cats. Why did we pull him? Well, first … LOOK AT HIM. Second, FeLV is a death sentence in most shelters because many cannot/will not send out PCR testing like we did — testing that gives a true picture of a cat’s FeLV status. But most importantly: George Bailey is so, SO SWEET. The second you look at him, he collapses onto his back for affection. I (his current foster mom) carry him around in a sling while making dinner and doing chores because he’s just that content to be held and loved. And while that’s adorable, it also breaks our hearts — because he can’t safely be out and about with all of our other fosters. He deserves a family where he can live his own story, not stay tucked away in someone else’s. And that brings us to the tacky (but also heartfelt) part: Just like his namesake, George Bailey has no idea how special he truly is. But we do. We see it every time he blinks those big eyes or tips his head for love. We want George Bailey to finally have his Wonderful Life — the kind where: • an angel absolutely earns its wings the day he’s adopted • someone would happily “lasso the moon” for him, • and he gets to become “the richest cat in town” — not in money, but in love. If you’ve ever wanted to make a real-life “Wonderful Life” moment happen… this little guy is ready. He just needs the family who’s ready for him.

Story
Autum was given to me about a month and a half ago to foster. A family was interested in giving her a home but they changed their mind. A second family was interested in her . But also fell through. She has just been hanging out with me since then. Autum is about 4 months old. She is high energy and extremely playful. I have other pets and children that she has been socializing with. I would like to find her a good home before Christmas if possible.
