Story
Hi everyone! Meet Blue! She is a 6 year old momma cat. She is FIV+. She had 2 kittens that were recently adopted, and now she’s looking for her forever! She may be a little shy at first, but she will seek attention after she gets to know you. She may even flop on your computer desk to make sure she’s getting enough head rubs 🥰🥰 FIV is caused by a retrovirus (lentivirus) that is similar to HIV in that it breaks down the immune system’s ability to fight off disease. The virus does not persist in the environment outside the cat’s body for more than a few hours and is readily destroyed by most disinfectants, which is good news for shelters that decide to hold FIV positive cats. It is transmitted primarily through bite wounds, and is much more common amongst intact male cats who are most likely to fight. Casual cat-to-cat spread is not believed to be common. FIV+ cats can live a long, healthy life. Adopting a FIV+ cat saves a cat that many may think are unadoptable. If you’d like to learn more about FIV, please visit: https://www.petfinder.com/cats/cat-health/feline-immunodeficiency-virus/

Not good with kids, Needs special attention,
Story
Athena is a sweet, gentle, affectionate, playful cat. She loves to curl up on her foster mom's lap and will purr her heart out in contentment. When not snuggling, she'll play with kittenish abandon, stalking, chasing, and pouncing on her toys in a display guaranteed to bring laughter. But things aren't always so easy for Athena. Born to a feral mom living in a cat colony, Athena missed out on full socialization to people as a kitten. Because of this, she's shy with strangers, new things can be scary for her, and she has an easily triggered startle response. But she's also a wonderfully resilient cat who has demonstrated that she can trust and bond to people. She's blossomed into a loving feline companion in her foster home, and her foster mom believes that she can also thrive in a quiet, adult-only forever home. To keep her digestive system healthy, Athena requires a prescription diet, Hill's Biome, which she loves and does very well on. She is six years old, spayed, felv/fiv negative, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations.

Dorothy has arthritis in her back legs and takes a daily supplement mixed into her food. Dorothy loves people and attention although she is not too fond of other cats. Dorothy is a couch potato and loves nothing more than to curl up next to you on the couch. She loves cardboard cat scratchers and catnip toys.

Story
Sweet little love bug Bella is looking for a quiet home and a nice warm lap to curl up in. Bella is a little shy at first, but once she gets to know you, she's an adorably affectionate girl. As much as she loves people, she's not so fond of other cats so needs to go to a home where she'll be the only feline family member (cat-friendly dogs are okay though). Bella is front declawed. She has food allergies and needs to be on a prescription diet and medication. Happily, this regimen works very well with her, and her skin and coat look great.

Story
Sweet and friendly Kipper is the kind of kitty who will greet you at the door when you come home from work and hang out with you in the evening. She's sociable (though not a lap cat), loves to be brushed, and gets spunky when playing with a wand toy. She came to us overweight and is on a diet, and we're looking for an adopter who will commit to getting Kipper down to a healthy weight. She's 10 years old, spayed, and up to date on vaccinations.

Story
Like all Furever Home cats, Jack is FeLV positive. If you need more information about FeLV, feel free to reach out to us. Meet Jack! This amazing mini-panther is such a sweetheart, and the perfect age. He’s young enough to still love his toys, but old enough so he won’t pull your curtains down and destroy your world. He’s a sweet & cuddly guy who adapts well. He’s very vocal and will have full out conversations with you. He’ll also remind you when you’re late with dinner. He has perfect cat etiquette and uses his litter box. His favorite hobbies include bathing in sunbeams, laying across your shoulders while binging on the Nature Channel, snuggling you in bed and head butting. He may be slightly shy at first, but he warms up quickly. If you have questions about Jack, please email FureverHomeMD@gmail.com or message us on FB through https://www.facebook.com/FureverHomeMD

Story
Mira and Shadow are bonded sisters and have never been apart. They were born strays and taken in when they became pregnant. They gave birth and raised their kittens together, and now that the kittens have found their furever homes, its time for Mira and Shadow to do the same! Both cats are sweet with lots of love to share. They come running at the sound of a treat bag and love to be brushed and petted. They love playtime and are curious about the world around them. Both cats love to be together and will play and sleep together. Shadow is a soft white cat with gray patches. She has striking green eyes, a cute pink nose, and multicolored toe beans! Shadow is more timid and cautious. She doesn't like being held but she loves pets and brushing. Shadow hasn't gotten comfortable with sleeping on the bed yet, but with some encouragement she might. She likes looking out windows and chasing laser pointers and string toys. Mira and Shadow would be a wonderful addition to your home!

Story
Gingersnap came to us with a very common and heartbreaking sad situation as a stray that landed in a kill shelter in Tennessee.   This beautiful girl was so terrified and despite that the shelter staff knew she  had a sweet spirit about her.   The shelter could have adopted her out because she is FIV positive.  Her way out alive was if she was to leave  with a reputable rescue that knew how to place cats like her.  She is very healthy and we have learned so much about cats living long and wonderful lives even with the FIV diagnosis.  She does not care for other cats and that is fine she cannot be around cats unless they are also FIV positive.   I'm sure she could adjust with another cat but she tends to just run away from them and she hisses and growls at dogs.  She would be a wonderful cat for a quiet home with a retired couple or empty nesters who have had all the young children fly the nest.  We do suggest a quiet home with no dogs  she loves to sleep in her little Kitty bed and enjoys a simple existence where she can receive human love and attention.   If you are interested in this sweet girl please email us at ccrtennessee@gmail.com   September 28, 2023, 1:24 pm

Story
Penelope and Moon Pie are some of the prettiest girls and who act like bonded sisters are but are not actually sisters.   They were both at the dreadful Tennessee shelter that gives cats and kittens merely 72 hours to find a rescue, a home or off they go to be euthanized.   Horrors.   These two year old girls are two of the sweetest, most loving and beautiful creatures.   Both are shorthaired domestic kittens and they will make your cat ownership and love come true if you take these two home.   Please email us at ccrnewengland@gmail.com  if you are interested.September 28, 2023, 1:24 pm

Story
Hi my name is Keanu.  I am a super sweet 18 month old male kitty who loves people.  I am OK with dogs and after finding my place in the pack am doing well with my fellow kitties.  I was a bit of a bully in the beginning but that is no longer the case.  I would prefer though to be king of my castle and not share my kingdom with other kitties.  I much prefer two legged humans to other cats.  I will be a loyal companion to someone who only wants one kitty.  I might be able to share my kingdom with a dog or even one patient cat as there are several in my foster home.  However my foster mom thinks I would really do best as the only pet.  I like all the attention and I don't want to share my cat tower.  You see it is from there I rule my kingdom.  I will be a kind and fair subject for the right family.  I love to be with you and to be petted.  My little engine starts up right away--almost as soon as I see you coming.  I am totally vetted and ready for my forever home.  If you think I will be the purrfect addition to your family please contact Vivienne at viviennejames@comcast.net.  APPROVED APPLICATION AND ADOPTION FEE REQUIRED.  (Kitty Keanu is in Tennessee and can be transported to the northeast upon adoption.)September 28, 2023, 1:24 pm

Story
Junior & Nala Barker-Brown Bengal/Tabby male DSH Tabico female , ~ 3 yr. (July 2023) Contact rescuebc@hotmail.com for application Nala and Jr. are in a tough spot. Their owner has to move into Assisted Living, leaving behind her cats. They started looking for a new home and food, and came to the attention of the Local Humane Society. They asked the Rescue to help in the search for a home, too as time is short until the owner moves. They are a bonded pair and are looking for a home together. They are both sweet cats and have their own personalities. Junior is a lanky, muscular guy who can jump very high, and he is affectionate. He likes to snuggle and lie on your lap. Nala takes her time getting used to you. It takes a little while for her to trust you, but when she does, she is your friend forever. The adoption fee is $150 each, to help cover the medical costs of getting ready for adoption. For our application, please email rescuebc@hotmail.com. Include your location and a phone number for future communication.
