Story
Sweet Pea is a beautiful girl. She is a combo of tabby, a bit of Tortie and white- a Tabico. Sweet Pea was brought into rescue through our TNR, feral cat spay/neuter program. Sweet Pea was living among about 40 other cats that were all fixed through this program. She was so sweet and not in good health so we found a foster who could give her the attention she needed to grow and be healthy. She had some major hair loss the vet attributed to stress and lack of nutrition. Here's what her foster mom has to say: As you can see from some of the pictures Sweet Pea loves hanging out at the windows. That seems to be her favorite spot, unless I am home then she wants to curl up in my lap for naps. She runs and jumps and plays like a normal kitten. And loves toys!! She loves the small ones that she can toss in the air then catch or chase... and carries them around. She loves to hide under the bed and swat at your feet... be she will not scratch you! She’ll hide in other places and jump out at you then takes off running. Sweet Pea sleeps with me, sometimes she will start out laying on me... but most of the time she sleeps curled up behind my knees. She does not like to be picked up at all. She is not a huggy in your face kitty. When she curls in my lap, she sometimes rubs noses with me but that’s it. Sweet Pea is still skittish at times... if you are standing and bend down to pet her, she will shy away... I have to squat then she comes right up to me. I have taken her outside in my back yard. She does like being outside...but only if I am sitting on the back steps and she can see me. I stepped out of sight once and it did not take her long to notice I was no longer on the back steps, and she came flying back through the door. She will go out in the yard a bit, but then comes back on the steps with me. Sweet Pea now eats like a horse! She loves the Friskies shredded canned food... she still eats the dry kitten food for a snack. Her hair is slowly but surely coming back. So far... she does not like other cats!! My neighbor's cats come in my yard...she has been in the windows when they have come... she growls at them...they do not growl or hiss back at her, they like other cats. She may not do well with other cats. She is a sweet girl, and in her own way, loving. Sweet Pea needs a quiet place to land where she can blossom and grow. **Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, vet visits, deworming, and shots. ** Adoption Application: mercyrescue.org

Story
Oak is very chill, she loves to sleep in a warm window, she will come to you when she wants cuddles. She doesn’t bite but will put her mouth on you in a frisky love way. Her and food are one. She loves the outdoors, we let her out on sunny days and watch her. She has always come when we call. She has grown up around dogs they aren’t her buddies by any means but she doesn’t hate them and will keep her distance. With other cats she does get territorial as they all do, but she needs her own litterbox! She’s a purring machine who could sleep on your lap for hours. Oakley is a goof she doesn’t play much but on occasion with some cat nip she puts on a show. I truly think Oakley would do best in a childless home. She has never been around them and with her being so laid back I don’t think it would be in her best interest. But I’ve never brought her around them so who knows. Basically all this girl needs is a warm bed, food and cuddles. With the occasional cat nip

Story
Fergus, DSH, Neutered male Tuxedo, vaccines current, DOB 1/22/17 NOT A LAP CAT PFC is now charging an adoption fee. 75.00 for a female and 50 for a male. However, our kitties who were vetted before this change are still adoption fee free. Fergus is the sweetest boy who is looking for a home without other kitties or no other alphas. He’s very loving and is so much fun to watch as he plays with himself on the cat tree. He chases his own tail around the scratching post and it’s so funny and cute. He was adopted and returned due to adopter circumstances, nothing he did. He’s a very sweet loving boy. Likes to get and give attention. If you think Fergus would fit into your home, you will need to fill out an adoption application, which can be downloaded from partnersforcats.org, or email partnersforcats@gmail.com and request an application to be emailed to you. Fergus currently lives in the South Mountains area, next door to the State Park. His would love to discuss him with you. Her number is 828-437-8769 . Partners for Cats does not currently charge an adoption fee. We feel this is a better way of finding more homes for more kitties. However, we operate on Donations, with no other income. If you take a kitty from us, and can afford to, we would appreciate your making a donation to help defray the cost of vetting these beautiful kitties. We will never ask you for Money when we turn a cat/kitten over to you.

Story
Allie, DSH Gray and White spayed female. Vaccines current, Est. DOB 1/16/18 Allie likes nothing better than following you around the house and being held and petted. Don’t let her sweetness fool you, she’s a determined little girl who has a mind of her own. Her stubborn streak comes out when you need to “doctor” her. Make sure she knows you are da boss and you’ll do fine. She love loves loves attention and will be your best friend. Allie gets on well with other kittens and is still of an age where if you don’t have another kitten or something to keep her company she can’t move in with you unless you let her bring a friend along too. If you are interested in adopting Allie, the first step is to fill out an adoption form which can be found here and email it to partnersforcats@gmail.com http://www.partnersforcats.org/adopt-your-bff.html Allie lives in the So. Mtns. State Park area with Jean as her caregiver. If you are interested in adopting her, fill out and submit the application and Jean will call you to discuss your bringing Allie into your home. Story
Fredrico is a 3-year-old solid black cat. He is a BIG boy that loves people and likes to rub and give love bites. He is playful and funny. He gets a little bit overstimulated when he's around other cats and takes it out on his tail. He doesn't bite it but just gives it a good whomping, of course he lets out a huge scream just before he attacks it. We feel that Fredrico would do best in a home without other cats. He just needs his humans to boss around and nibble on. ** Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, vet visits, deworming, and shots. ** Adoption application: mercyrescue.org

Story
Squeaks is a beautiful orange tabby male who was born around Jan 2023. He was found with a wound on his tummy which required surgery and brought into a foster home. Squeaks was born outdoors and is shy with new folks. He lives with his foster mom and dad and their two cats. He is devoted to his foster parents. Squeaks follows them around and is a real lap cat. He is playful and loving. He loves to play with the other two cats in the household. He likes toys and would do well with any family who puts in time to gain his trust. Orange cats are thought to be friendlier and more affectionate than other cats. They tend to be snuggly. Some orange tabbies are so affectionate that they are often cat-egorized as “velcro” kitties. **Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, vet visits, deworming, and shots. ** Adoption Application: mercyrescue.org
