Story
These two are incredibly sweet, curious, and will acclimate quickly to their new environment. They may be a bit shy at first but are never aggressive and warm up fast. They love kisses, tummy rubs, and nibbling on fingers, and they’ll be best suited to a home where someone is around often, as they really enjoy companionship. When they’re not using your furniture as a jungle gym and chasing each other around, they love to nap on top of each other or cuddle right up to their foster mom! Alakazam is a little snugglier and will nap for hours in my arms or lap, while Abracadabra is a bit more rambunctious - especially around mealtime when she’ll try to climb my leg! Alakazam has been trying to nurse from her sister but does well with redirection, just make sure you’ve got a toy or something distracting on hand, as they both respond well to that when getting into mischief. They love any toy put in front of them, especially little mice, springs, or anything with a ball track and when they need to get their scratches out they’ll go right for their scratching boards/posts. They like to munch on houseplants and even climb in if the pot’s big enough! They’re also fantastic with the litter box. They’re pretty difficult to tell apart at first, though it’s getting easier as they grow. The easiest way to tell is to look for the three white hairs on Alakazam’s back.Abracadabra must be adopted with Alakazam or as a buddy to a friendly resident cat.Like all ACR cats, Abracadabra is up-to-date on vaccines and has been treated for fleas and parasites.

Story
Meet Inky, a bright, playful, and affectionate cat who’s ready to find her forever home. Though she may be shy at first, with patience and love her true personality shines through—and it’s worth the wait. Inky is endlessly entertaining with her favourite laser pointer and stuffed mice toys, and she’s always eager for a daily (or even twice-daily) play session. however, she is also happy to play on her own. She’s also a foodie at heart—never picky, happily enjoying kibble while she waits on her twice-a-day wet food (slight preference towards fish-flavoured meals), and her nightly Churu treat, which she celebrates with the cutest happy-paw dance. In addition to food and toys, Inky has a soft spot for catnip and brushing sessions, and her purrs—sometimes quiet and soothing, sometimes deep and rumbly—make her companionship even more special. As a gentle and submissive cat, she’s happiest as the only pet in a calm, loving household. She has no interest in the outdoors and would make a wonderful apartment companion. All she asks for is a scratching pad, an accessible litter box, and a human who will give her the patience and understanding she deserves. She is mostly black, with a white patch on her chest and a surprising white patch on her belly. She could not be more adorable!Inky is looking for an experienced adopter who can respect her boundaries and delight in watching her blossom into the loyal, playful, and loving companion she’s become in her foster home. If you’re ready for a truly rewarding bond, Inky is waiting to meet you.She recently recovered from a successful dental surgery, and while she may need more teeth removed in the future (mid to late 2026), she doesn`t let that slow her down! We can’t predict exactly when or how much dental work she’ll need, but she’s looking for a responsible owner who is financially and emotionally prepared for the veterinary care that comes with welcoming any new pet into the family. Like all ACR cats, Inky is up-to-date on vaccines and has been treated for fleas and parasites.

Story
Lucky is a sweet-natured, gentle senior cat who has come a long way from her difficult start. Found outside alone, frightened, and emaciated, Lucky was taken in by Annex Cat Rescue and, with medical care and lots of love, has made an incredible recovery. Her general health is quite good, she’s gained weight, her soft fur has grown back, and she continues to thrive in her loving foster home.Lucky is quietly affectionate and has the most endearing ways of showing love—she’ll extend a paw toward you, make soft little chirps for attention, or roll over at your feet to show you her tummy (for admiring only, not petting!). She enjoys gentle strokes and kisses on the top of her head and will even let you pick her up, quietly pressing into your body for a moment of closeness, even though she’s not a lap cat.Though calm and quiet, Lucky also has a wonderfully playful side. She loves her toy mouse, often bringing it to her foster’s feet for a game of fetch. Her joyful antics—galloping after her mouse, sliding into rugs, or springing into the air like a bunny—bring laughter to her home. She also enjoys chasing her laser toy down the hallway, a sign of her renewed health and spirit.Food is deeply important to Lucky. After going without, she now finds comfort and safety in regular, reliable meals. She eats canned food three times a day, with Churro treat breaks in between. Mealtimes have become a strong bonding ritual, helping her feel secure and deeply connected to her caregiver.Lucky enjoys napping near a window and quietly watching the world go by. She’s independent but truly values companionship—often choosing to sit nearby while you read, work, or watch TV. She would thrive in a calm, quiet home with someone who is around often and understands that trust and affection may take time, but are well worth the wait.Though currently the only cat in her foster home, Lucky has previously lived with other cats and may do well with a gentle feline companion. She has had all her teeth removed, but that doesn’t slow her down one bit—she eats well and uses her litter box perfectly.Lucky is brave, playful, quirky, and absolutely enchanting. If you’re looking for a quiet, loving companion with a big heart and a playful spirit, Lucky is ready to meet you.Lucky is negative for FIV and feline leukemia. She is up-to-date on vaccines and has been treated for fleas and parasites. In August 2024, she had dental surgery with extrac

Story
Meet Fred! Fred is a very sweet boy who is distinguishable from his near-identical brother Barney by his white patch of fur on his chest, his higher-pitch meow, and by being a little chunky. Fred is the shyer of the pair and will take a little longer to adjust to his new home. He absolutely LOVES belly rubs, especially while lying under a table or against a wall. He will also follow you to the bathroom and rub against your legs. After a few months at his current foster home, he now sleeps at the edge of the bed at night and loves loafing on his favourite arm chair.Fred’s favourite game is the laser pointer and will go nuts if the laser is pointed up against the wall or down the hallway to chase after it.Fred and his brother Barney are closely bonded - they love sleeping together in their cat tower, grooming each other, and play-fighting. One of their joint interests is watching cat tv on Youtube, especially videos of mice, fish, or squirrels. Fred and Barney will likely do best as the only two cats in the household.Fred has a history of urinary crystals and needs a prescription diet (his brother is on the same meal plan). He benefits from a low-stress environment as anxiety can make urinary issues worse. As a result of this, he requires careful monitoring of his litter box to ensure he does not have any future blockages. Otherwise he has excellent litter box habits!Fred is negative for FIV and feline leukemia. Like all ACR cats, Fred is up-to-date on vaccines and has been treated for fleas and parasites.

Story
Meet Twix — a sweet and lovely calico kitty with a gentle heart. At first, she could be a little shy and prefer to hide, but once you earn her trust, she’ll happily ask for head scratches (especially on the right side!) and enjoy curling up beside you for naps.Twix is still working on managing her stress levels, as she’s a bit sensitive to loud or sudden sounds, but she’s making great progress. She’s smart, alert, and absolutely loves playing with dangling toys. Like her brother, she enjoys spending time on the window ledge, watching the world go by. She’s also not picky with food — whether it’s kibbles, wet food, or treats, she’ll gladly enjoy them all. With a little patience and love, Twix will reward you with endless affection and the quiet joy of a loyal companion.Like all ACR cats, Twix is up-to-date on vaccines and has been treated for fleas and parasites.

Story
Meet Barney! Barney is a very sweet and curious boy who will adjust to his new home in no time. Barney is the more outgoing compared to his brother Fred and will likely be the first to explore and sniff his new surroundings to make himself comfortable. Barney needs more playtime than his brother Fred and likes to be stimulated by running after lightweight toys, chasing laser toys, and watching cat tv on Youtube with his brother Fred. His current foster puts videos of birds and mice on the big screen tv, and Barney eagerly runs to watch from below the screen and then paw at the screen while standing up. Barney likes pouncing on people’s feet under a blanket (usually at bedtime), so his nails will need to be kept trimmed. One of Barney’s cute moves is to stand on his two feet, meow, and rub up against his foster mom while his wet food is prepared at dinner time. Barney is starting to sleep on his foster’s bed at nighttime and loves to greet people as they come home.Barney enjoys chewing on houseplants and will try to eat food left out on counters like oil (for example, leftover oil from cooking eggs) and pasta. Plants will need to be kept out of reach for this guy. He has impeccable litter box habits! Given his brother Fred needs a prescription urinary diet, Barney is on the same meal plan.Barney and his brother Fred are closely bonded and need to be kept together – they love sleeping together in their cat tower, grooming each other, and play-fighting. Fred and Barney will likely do best as the only two cats in the household.Like all ACR cats, Barney is up-to-date on vaccines and has been treated for fleas and parasites.

Story
DOB: November 30, 2021 Say hello to Raya, a sweet brown tabby girl with an affectionate, quirky spirit and a personality as charming as her soft stripes. During the day, you’ll often find Raya curled up under the bed covers—her favorite secret hideaway—but when early morning or evening arrives, she comes alive with playful curiosity. Raya’s favorite game is chasing a string as you drag it behind you. She’ll zip, pounce, and leap with joyful enthusiasm, turning even the simplest toy into a full-blown adventure. She’s wonderfully communicative too; when she wants attention, she’ll seek you out and greet you with a series of cheerful meows, her own adorable way of starting a conversation. She’s not a traditional lap cat, but Raya has her own tender way of showing affection. In the quiet evenings, she’ll curl up right beside you, sharing the space with a calm, comforting presence without being clingy. Raya is the perfect match for someone who appreciates a cat with both an independent spirit and a warm, social nature. If you’re looking for a playful, endearing companion who will bring sweetness and cozy charm into your home, Raya may be the one.

Story
FIV/FeLV negative, DOB: Aug 21, 2023 Arianne – The Brave, Gentle Mama Hi, my name is Arianne. I don’t remember much about my life before rescue, but I do remember being very scared, very shy, and very pregnant when my foster mama found me. I was so frightened that I stayed curled up in the bathtub, too nervous to move anywhere else. My foster mom brought my food and water right to me while I slowly learned I was safe. After about a week, I finally felt comfortable enough to explore the house. That’s when my foster mama began to see the real me—a sweet, gentle, intelligent cat who just needed time and patience. When it was time to deliver my babies, I surprised my foster mama! She stepped out briefly to drop off a package and buy some food—she was gone only about 30 minutes—but when she came back, I had already delivered three perfect kittens all on my own. I cleaned them, cared for them, and even cut their umbilical cords myself. My foster mama teared up because she was so proud of me. I will be a loving, calm, loyal companion once we build trust. I’m smart and learn routines quickly. I’m not a picky eater—I enjoy both dry and soft food. Because I’m a sensitive soul, I would do best in a quiet home with: -No kids -No dogs -And either being the only cat or living with a mature, gentle cat like me If you give me patience, kindness, and a peaceful home, I will give you endless gentle love, soft companionship, and the sweetest friendship. Special note from my foster mom: Arianne is a very shy but sweet cat. She deserves a quiet home where she can build trust and enjoy love and care. She is such a sweet girl and watching her get comfortable with you and her surroundings is very fulfilling indeed.

Story
DOB April 22, 2024 Hi, I’m Elise—a quiet, gentle soul who loves cozy naps on my heated pad and snuggling up with my foster kitty friends, and my foster parents’ dog. I’m a shy girl and it takes me time to feel safe and comfortable around people, but once I do, I have a very sweet side to share and before long I will fully blossom into a beautifully social kitty! Because of my timid nature, I do best in a calm home with at least one friendly feline companion. Having another kitty around really helps me feel more at ease and gives me the confidence to come out of my shell. I love to play blanket monster although sometimes I can be a bit too enthusiastic. I also highly enjoy long butt rubs and will never ask you to stop. Elise would prefer a home without small children, that moves at a relaxed pace. She has been diagnosed with a chronic upper respiratory infection, likely caused by feline herpesvirus. The condition is no longer infectious, but symptoms may flare up with life changes or stress. This is easily managed by maintaining a low-stress environment, a consistent diet, and by sprinkling probiotics like FortiFlora, daily, on her food.
