Story
We brought Rosie home in April 2020. The shelter said she was 1-2 years old. It took her a week to warm up to us, but then she always curled up next to us or on our laps. She was very playful, so we took in a kitten as a playmate. Things were great for 3 months until the kitten outgrew Rosie. Rosie started showing aggression that we hadn't seen before - hissing, biting, and clawing. Over these four years, we've tried to make Rosie feel comfortable, including working with our vet. She's really sweet and low maintenance when no cats or kids are around, but she's too much of a risk around our toddler. She's clawed at our toddler - unprovoked - numerous times, and so we're thinking the best thing for Rosie is a quiet home without other pets or kids. Her only other triggers have been feral cats outside of our home and people yelling (like kids). She loves catnip toys, kneading blankets, a warm lap, running faucets, and sunny windowsills. She uses the litterbox and paces her food intake.

Story
October is an extremely playful young cat that loves playing with other cats and dogs. He was born on September 20, 2023. We cannot keep him because we are currently going through some financial difficulties that are requiring us to eliminate or at the very least mitigate our monthly financial obligations. Financially we cannot provide for him in the way he needs or deserves. We are currently located in NE Philadelphia but will deliver if you are located within a reasonable distance. Please reach out with any questions.

Story
We found Coral one rainy evening when we had to park farther away from our home than usual. We're no stranger to community cats in South Philly, but Coral made it pretty clear that he would like to be let in please. Coral, who is a boy but was named by our 3-year old, made himself quite at home and we would love to keep him around, but we already have five cats who would revolt if we brought in another. Coral is a sweet little soul who appreciates a cozy corner and a hunk of your sandwich. Coral does not meow-- instead he croaks like a frog with a sore throat when he would like some pets, which he tends to do upon the opening of a bathroom door or (for whatever reason) when you’re putting laundry in the washer. He will join you in a game of catnip toy on a long string and will sit on your feet while you work from home. He’s also very patient with young children and will hang around while being brought piles of pretend food (even when it's put on his head like a little hat).

Story
Hi all! Miss Ma'am is a 7 year old cutie patootie who I don't want to let go because she's perfect in every way. I adopted her from ACCT to be my cats son's friend after my dog passed due to them saying she has a sweet nature and she does! She's LOVES BELLY rubs, loves to be in your presence, she's a talker but has a quiet adorable raspy "smoker" voice and when she meows she nods her head like she's saying "sup". Unfortunately shes only sweet for ppl lol she seems to go after my other cat & it's purely fear based. I had a cat behaviorist comes out and she said with time she thinks they will get better. My cat son is VERY relaxed and doesn't fight back. So if you do have a cat they just have to be bomb proof. I was willing to put in the work but unfortunately my mother is ill and I'll be moving to Ohio to care for her long term. I'd take Miss Ma'am with me but my mom has 2 cats who are spicy and I feel since I've only had her 2 months it's best to give her to a home that's more stable

Story
Pepper is a 13 year old female senior. I have had her for seven years. I adopted her as a single woman and have since married and welcomed a baby. She is stressed by all these new changes. My vet agrees these are issues caused by stress and she most likely needs a better, calmer home. She does well with kind adults. I would not have her around dogs. She currently lives with 2 younger male cats who mostly leave her alone. I believe she can live with other cats as long as they are respectful of her and her age and leave her alone. She can be very affectionate. She likes to bedshare with humans and gives lots of headbutts. She likes to gaze at birds in the window but is NOT an outdoor cat at all. Her health is excellent for her age. She enjoys being brushed and sitting on the edge of the bathtub. She is a great cat for a calmer, quiet home!

Story
These three ladies were trapped as part of a TNR project after their owner became ill, lost her home, and they ended up outside with a Lansdowne colony. The sisters were social and clearly not meant for outdoor life, so they were brought into foster together. They were previously spayed, had their shots updated, and they tested negative. They will be microchipped. If you guessed Blanche, Rose, and Dorothy (left to right), you are correct! They absolutely have the personalities of their TV namesakes, as you can see. Blanche and Rose immediately took over their foster home, exploring and enjoying window time together. Dorothy wasn’t so sure and elected to stay in her crate till she was darned good and ready to venture out and join the others. She has come very far in just a few short weeks and is as friendly as can be these days. After all they’ve been through losing their owner and their home, it would be a dream if these playful besties could stay together and become someone’s instant feline family, but other scenarios are possible. Put on your best caftan, grab some cheesecake, and meet The Golden Girls! Applications being accepted.   To learn more about Blanche, Rose, and Dorothy and other pets available for adoption, and to download an adoption application, please visit www.animalfriendsoflansdowne.org. Story
Introducing the very lovely Kara. Her story is a sad one. Born in 2008, Kara had kittens who were adopted out, and Kara was spayed and adopted by a kind gentleman with several cats. Kara was well cared for, but one cat bullied her and made her timid. Her owner became ill and passed away in 2018. Kara was then adopted by another kind gentleman and friend of the rescue, who passed away very suddenly in June 2022. Kara is as sweet as sweet can be, but she needs some work and commitment from a special adopter to help rebuild her confidence. You need to seek her out, then she will thoroughly enjoy affection and will reward you with very loud purrs. Kara has been updated on all her vet care and is a very healthy senior kitty. She truly needs for her next home to be her last. A calm and loving home, ideally with no other pets (though she will adjust to kind ones), would complete Kara’s wish list. A senior human in need of a gentle companion would be just perfect. If Kara’s story stirs your heart, you just might be her person. Please apply today.   To learn more about Kara and other pets available for adoption, and to download an adoption application, please visit www.animalfriendsoflansdowne.org. Story
Camilla is an exquisite, sleek beauty of a young kitty, with possible “Russian Blue” in her DNA. Just look at that all-grey coat and her golden eyes! Born around June 2020, Camilla was on the streets and had two known litters of kittens prior to her rescue with her kitten, Baxter. She is a sweetheart whose favorite pastime is gazing out the window at passers-by and birds. She’s vocal and likes to make endearing cooing and chirping noises. She may still need a little patience to transition. But in a secure home with loving care and lots of windows to look out of, she will be happy and will warm up beautifully. Camilla feels confident on a window sill or higher perch, and she will be glad to allow you to scritch under her chin, on her head, pet her, and eventually rub that belly. She is spayed, tested negative, microchipped, and up-to-date on shots and vet care. Camilla knows how to play with her kittens, and she and Baxter are a perfect, bonded pair who should ideally be adopted together to a calm home. Like the Russian princess she is, she will welcome and crave your attention once she trusts you, and will reward you with plenty of returned affection. Story
Hobbes is the most typical of cats- born in Aug 2022 this boy was discovered in March 2023 as a new addition to a feeder's community cat colony. We were able to trap him  before he befell the fate of many outdoor cats- becoming feral. After being fixed he realized that the inside life was a pretty good one. He can best be described as happy-go-lucky. Hobbes prances around, perches on window sills, and enjoys wrestling with his fellow foster cats. On the whole he is a very sweet and gentle boy who never shows his claws and is ready to be your new addition!   Due to his later introduction to inside life Hobbes will need a bit of patience from his new parent- he is a little shy with new people or animals and will require a slow introduction to any gentle children or pets in your home. He does not like to be picked up or held.  He has tested negative, is neutered and microchipped, and is up to date on all shots and vet care. Applications are accepted now for this adorable boy, so don’t delay! Story
Baxter is a unique little fella! This handsome black boy born in late April 2022 is the child to fellow foster kitty “Camilla”. The pair were brought inside together in June 2022. Baxter loves doing zoomies and dropping toys in his water bowl. One of his favorite games is bopping a toy off the top of a scratching post, then chasing it. He needs a playmate and his mommy Camilla is the ideal companion for him. The two are bonded and enjoy each other’s company. He may still be slightly cautious when people approach him; a tiny bit of patience and further loving are all that are needed. A gentle approach will have him rolling on his back and asking for belly rubs, which he LOVES. Once you’ve won his trust, Baxter is quite the ragdoll and will happily let you pick him up and carry him around, nuzzling you contentedly. He even loves nose kisses! Baxter is neutered, tested negative, microchipped, and up-to-date on all shots and vet care. Don’t hesitate to apply—with charming Baxter, the rewards are great. Along with Mama Camilla, you’ll have the purrfect instant family! Story
This gorgeous young girl is loving, lanky, and oh-so-social, with the most adorable charcoal gray spots down her back and a very distinctive face. Reebie is active, affectionate, and very focused on her people! She enjoys both cardboard and sisal scratchers, watching birds out the window, and exploring her surroundings. She was found wandering outside all on her own in July of 2023 and has been loving enthusiastically on her foster mom (and every other person she meets) ever since. Reebie is very food motivated, which means she will likely be able to learn some tricks if her owner would like to teach her some. She prefers to be your one and only cat and would be a great addition to a home with gentle children. Born around July of 2020, Reebie is tested negative, up to date on vet care, and ready for her forever home and people. This girl is a lover, so get those applications in quick!     To learn more about Reebie and other pets available for adoption, and to download an adoption application, please visit www.animalfriendsoflansdowne.org . Tundra is cuddler for sure. Eating and being held are close favorites as long as he gets to sniff your face! He also get excited for playtime, though slightly less than his sister. Named for his long orange fur, tundra is a bonded pair with his littermate, girl (the only girl of her litter) they are 5 months old this November 4th (birthday June 4 2022), generally socialized and potty trained. Both have had spay/neuter and rabies shot 11/11/2022. We were unable to do the other vaccinations. Girl, loves to play and enjoys brief cuddles. They both really like food over most things especially if it's been wet a little bit with water ( I can probably donate a 12lbs bag or so of their food-American journey chicken grain free). I am hoping to have them rehomed as a bonded pair.

Story
Gigi is a special girl and it breaks my heart but I need to find a good loving home for this girl. Gigi is a formerly feral neighborhood cat. I had been feeding her and she sort of took to me. She’s been living in my basement as a sort of indoor/outdoor cat since last year, when I brought her in to help her when she had a respiratory infection. I think she is ready for more and deserves more. She’s initially cautious with new people, and can still hiss or even swat on occasion, so she’ll need time to adjust with anyone new and space to gain trust. If you have the patience for that she can be an affectionate cat. She needs a person with a good heart who’s willing to work with her rough edges. Once she lets you in she’s a loyal and loving cat. Not 100% sure if she would be good with other cats.
