Story
Chipmunk is a beautiful 1-year-old sweetheart who was found outside with Squirrel, both wearing matching old flea collars — giving “besties who escaped a bad situation together.” Despite her rough start, Chipmunk’s gentle nature shines through. She’s soft, sweet, and a little shy, like the quiet kid in school who turns out to be hilarious once she finally talks. Chipmunk wants a home where she can blossom, nap safely, and no longer worry about her past. Her markings are absolutely stunning — soft brown tabby striping over a crisp white coat — and her young age means she has her whole life ahead of her. Chipmunk would thrive in a calm, patient home where she can warm up at her own pace and finally experience the security she’s always deserved. Chipmunk is now spayed, vaccinated, tested negative for FeLV and FIV, dewormed, received flea prevention, and is microchipped. Chipmunk currently resides at our adoption center in PetSmart in Northeast Philadelphia (7422 Bustleton Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19152) for your viewing pleasure. Ready to adopt? Story
Finally, for Milo – the bravest little fighter you’ll ever meet! In early June Milo was rushed to the ER with a life-threatening urinary blockage. At only a year old, his owners faced an impossible choice: pay for extensive hospitalization or euthanasia. Thankfully, they surrendered him to us, and we promised to give him the chance he deserved. Milo spent nearly a week in the hospital being treated for his urinary obstruction. Once discharged, he struggled with some abnormal urination, but could urinate so we followed recommendations of a strict diet, supplements, and medications. However a month later, he obstructed again, and needed a specialized surgery called a perineal urethrostomy (PU) to help prevent future blockages. Just when we thought he was in the clear, he developed a fever and swollen, painful left hind leg. He landed back in the ER as he was experiencing a complication from surgery, likely a tear, causing urine to leak under the skin into his own leg. His only chance was a urinary catheter for another week. It was touch and go, but Milo never gave up. And now… after months of recovery, special care, and a LOT of cheering him on – Milo is officially adoption ready! About Milo - 1 year old, playful, affectionate, and incredibly sweet - Loves people and gets along with other cats - Needs to stay on a prescription urinary diet to keep him healthy, but with his surgery, the risk of future problems is low - Deserves the BEST forever home after everything he’s overcome Ready to give Milo the happy ending he’s been waiting for? Apply here: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/OOTW/Cat Let’s find Milo the forever family he deserves!

Story
Willow is a petite 4-year-old girl who has endured more than any cat should. She was found outside and taken in by two brothers — and to their surprise, she gave birth to six kittens shortly after. At only about 6 pounds, her tiny body has likely been through litter after litter outdoors. Now that her babies are weaned, Willow is finally ready to retire from motherhood and enjoy the peaceful indoor life she deserves. She can be timid around other cats, likely due to being chased by males outside for so long, She’s quiet, gentle, and prefers peace over drama — she’s basically the cat version of a woman who just wants to sip tea in a quiet room.Willow needs a home that will give her stability, patience, and love as she learns what it means to be safe. Willow is now spayed, vaccinated, tested negative for FeLV and FIV, dewormed, received flea prevention, and is microchipped. Story
Miranda had the saddest beginning to her life. She came from a house in Philadelphia with way too many cats and before she was even born, their "owner" had been hospitalized and then moved to a nursing home. A relative of the owner came by each week and did nothing more than throw an open bag of food into the front door. That was the only care the cats in the house received for weeks and some of the female cats even had kittens during that time (Miranda being one of them). Finally, a friend of the family learned about the situation and posted on social media about the poor cats trapped in this house getting virtually no care. When our rescue heard about the situation, we felt we had to help. The first time we went to the house, we all left in tears....it was even worse than we imagined. The cats were so hungry and were so scared and the house was literally falling apart. We honestly weren't sure whether they would ever be adoptable, which was not only heartbreaking but also overwhelming. For the first 2-3 weeks after they went to foster care, the cats hid all the time, only coming out to eat when nobody was around. Slowly but surely, they started coming out more and more! With lots of TLC and patience, they slowly blossomed into sweet, healthy and beautiful cats. Many of the cats, including Miranda, tested positive for Felv, but they are doing great in spite of it! Miranda is still a little bit shy when she first meets somebody but she turns into o an affectionate love bug once she feels safe. She is often seen rolling on her back showing her belly for attention! She is truly a special cat who has faced so many challenges in her short life. Please consider opening your home to Miranda. She has been in foster care for far too long and deserves to move on to the next chapter of her life in her OWN home!! She is fully vetted - sterilized, vaccinated, flea treated, dewormed and microchipped. Because of being FeLv+, she needs to be an only cat or go to a home with other FeLv+ kitties. Apply today for this sweetie! https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/PRR/Cat
