Koi is a handsome grey & white short-haired male with gorgeous eyes. He is very affectionate and playful. Koi is fascinated by hair and water, and he has a hearty appetite! He was found as stray outdoor cat and no owner was located. Koi is positive for Feline Leukemia (FeLV+), but otherwise, he is a healthy boy. He will need to be in a household with no other cats or other FeLV+ cats only. Koi has been neutered, negative for FIV, vaccinated, microchipped, flea-treated, and dewormed. She is about 5-1/2 years old. Mattie was rescued from a shelter because she was too frightened to place into adoption. Mattie is a very unique girl in that she is a pan leukopenia survivor. Pan leukopenia (FPV, also known as feline distemper) has no prescribed treatment and the survival rate is dismal. Mattie was lucky in that she was already an adult cat, and that her foster recognized symptoms that can be confused with other diseases. The good news is that once cured, she will no longer need any treatment, nor can she catch it again, if exposed. With no cure, it took supportive care such as IV Fluid treatments and antibiotics to make her comfortable. This daily interaction of care made her welcoming to human touch and kindness. During her treatment she lost her shyness, found out that she loved being touched and petted, and lastly got to spend her days with other kitty playmates once she was no longer contagious.. Mattie’s other supporter was another cat who has since passed away with cancer. We know that Mattie would prefer the company of another female, or two, hoping that one might be agreeable to become her best friend. Many years ago she was discovered outside along with 2 other cats and taken to an animal shelter. She and her older sister were placed into a foster home where her personality blossomed and she learned to live with people. Pixie remains calm around other cats and people. We feel she would enjoy the company of children and possibly even feel relaxed around adult dogs. Like so many cats that were not socialized with people as a kitten, Pixie appreciates your attention and especially neck rubs, however she isn’t comfortable being picked up unless you are doing so to have her sit next to you. She is such a pretty girl, and her fur is so soft and silky. She is playful and curious, likes to talk and tell you about her day. She has a cute, dainty meow and a gentle demeanor and loves attention. Daisy and her gray tabby/white tuxie brother Duke were sadly found living as abandoned strays, as young teenager kitties. They were born around January 2023. While it’s not a requirement, it would be nice to see them adopted together. Estimated at 13 weeks old. He does have an umbilical hernia, which should heal on its own, but if it doesn't its a simple surgery to fix it when he gets fixed.

Story

Sheena is a very special cat who has been waiting a very long time to find her forever home. She has a mild heart condition and doesn’t like to be around other animals, which has made her difficult to place. Sheena is about 7 years old now but she’s still very active and playful. She loves her wand toys and laser pointer and spends lots of time looking out the window or climbing her cat tree. Sheena has her own room in her foster home with toys to play with and a window with a view, but what she really wants is a home of her own with a person she doesn’t have to share. Sheena was rescued in 2015 from the Fort Worth shelter while nursing 8 kittens, not all of them hers. She was a good mom but when she was done she (understandably) really wanted her own space. Sheena is very social. She purrs easily, loves to be petted, and even enjoys visits from her foster mom’s young nephews. Sheena does have a temper and gets nippy when she is displeased, but she doesn’t do any real damage. Like many cats, she also dislikes car rides. Sheena has mild cardiomyopathy, meaning a slight thickening of the walls of her heart which causes it to work harder to pump blood. Her condition has been unchanged since it was first discovered and has been fully checked out by a veterinary cardiologist. Sheena isn’t on any medication and has no symptoms from her condition. Her cardiologist thinks she will likely remain stable for years since she has been for so long. It’s recommended that Sheena have blood work done every year to monitor her her condition, but otherwise she lives a very normal life. Sheena is a wonderful and sometimes difficult cat with a lot of personality. She has waited a long time but hasn’t given up hope that someone will take a chance on her.
