Story
Obie (short for Old Boy) is a sweet old boy looking for a comfy couch to call his own. He has a beautiful fluffy coat that he enjoys a nice brushing of. Obie is a quiet and dignified couch potato. He is fine with everyone but particularly loves men. He loves ear scratches and a nice snooze. Obie is currently on medication for seizures. He takes this medication twice a day and it has greatly reduced his occurrence of seizures. He takes his medications easily if hidden in cream cheese, sour cream or yogurt. Obie is house trained with a doggie door right now. He enjoys spending his afternoons outside relaxing. He can be scared by loud things like fireworks but has done well with CBD as needed for this very specific anxiety. Obie does not really care for treats or toys. Treats he has enjoyed for training include lamb roast, mashed potatoes and eggs. He thinks vegetables are yucky. He seems to have been new to dog food but has taken to it well with some patience. Obie currently lives with another large dog and gets along well with her. She will even snap at him sometimes and he will not really react. He simply wants to be her friend. We also believe Obie will be fine with mannerly children. He has met toddlers and takes care to not knock them over. When meeting cats indoors, Obie was excited but did not necessarily exhibit high prey drive. He allowed his foster mom to call him back as she removed the cat. When he sees cats outdoors he like to try to chase them, though this is true of most dogs (even those that live with cats). All Better World Rescue dogs qualify for private and/or group training at no additional cost to help ensure a successful adoption. To meet Obie, fill out our short adoption application: www.betterworldrescue.org/adoption-application Once an application is filled out, our volunteers will reach out to you within one business day to answer any questions and schedule a meet and greet.

Story
Meet Daphne! Daphne, a young Female Dutch Shepherd mix, who definitely knows her name.   She has the basic commands of come, sit and lay down, We are working on stay.  At meal time she quietly sits waiting for her bowl.  With time she will not inhale her food thinking someone else will get it.  I can put my hand in her bowl without her being aggressive it.  Loves treats and takes them gently with when put in an open hand.  Daphne is crated at night and during the day while I’m at work.  I put a bone in her crate that is smeared with natural peanut butter as she is content!  I leave the door to her crate open and she goes inside to hang out, safe space. Potty trained- as soon as I let her out of the crate she heads outside and does her business, praising her for good potty outside.  Loves toys of all kinds - her goal is to remove the squeaker.  Heavy duty toys for her is a big plus.  Loves to have her belly rubbed. The leash, if she sees the car she puts the brakes on and hard to move her towards it.  Taking small steps with her wearing the leash and being in the backyard. She is fine with the other dogs she has met, the only barking or sounds from her is when you leave her out of the crate, she’s excited you are there. dult: 1-6 yrs $400.00 Each of our dogs are fully vaccinated to include Bordetella, DHLPP and Rabies. We deworm and microchip each dog as well as spay or neuter. Our adoption process includes an initial conversation about the dog to see if the dog is a good match or if another dog could be a more suitable match. We also will complete a home visit. It should be noted that our adoption counselors know the dogs and can best guide any possible adopter with a suitable match. Please visit https://www.calpaws.org/available-dogs for the adoption application! We are always in need of experienced fosters for the amount of dogs we have coming in. Being a foster is such a rewarding experience. If you are interested please review https://www.calpaws.org/fostering   ##1939262##

Story
Are you a Dutch Shepherd fan? Davies is the full package. He’s very smart, energetic, and friendly. He likes to be on the go, and would probably love a secure yard to run around in. He is easily bored, so would love an active family that includes him in all of their fun. Camping, hiking, running – all of these would be fun for him. Anything else you like. Once he’s had his fun, though, he seems to settle pretty nicely. Davies walks politely on a leash, pulling occasionally, so he’ll need a strong person who can handle his size. But he appears to have nice manners passing other dogs and really just likes to sniff and do his own thing. He does it all at a fairly fast pace, so be prepared to get your exercise! Davies appears housetrained and would love to get out of the shelter ASAP.

Max is a mellow and cheerful young pup with loving nature. He is close to humans, always greet people with a big smile and non-stop wagging tail and hip. He loves the head/tummy rubs and cuddling that follows. He loves to eat and gets excited before taking a walk, but will heed to command well. Story
Taz is the ultimate adventure dog ready to go out on hikes or hang out at the bar with you. Taz has gone on hikes in the Sierras and hung out at his local dog-friendly brewery and made for a great companion. He loves car rides and long walks or runs. Check out Taz's video playlist: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLVb0fq1O6CwmrJ7jIwM1VvhkGdyx2X9Ci In terms of training, Taz is still working on building some confidence. He can be a little fearful with new experiences, people and loud noises. That said, he warms up well with a confident handler. Taz is house-trained and crate-trained. Taz is a good walking companion and can loose-leash walk. He is a fantastic dog who loves training and is easily redirected even when he is getting a little naughty. Taz has some herding instincts and would do best in a home familiar with this behavior. He is responding very well to training. Taz has met other dogs at dog parks and has done well. He does not currently live with children or cats so we are unsure as to how he would do with either. He does have prey drive towards small animals such as squirrels (as most dogs do). Taz loves kisses, squeaky toys, antlers, and kong toys. He is moderate energy where he can keep up for a 3 mile run but also is happy to chill on the couch with you. He is a great dog and eager to make a connection with you. All Better World Rescue dogs come with complimentary private or group training as needed to help ensure a successful adoption. If you are interested in meeting Taz to see if he is a good fit for your family, please fill out our short adoption application: www.betterworldrescue.org/adoption-application Upon receipt of your application, a Better World Rescue volunteer will reach out within one business day to answer any questions and schedule a meet.
