Story
Sarge is an incredibly sweet dog found on the streets near Orlando, FL. He is food motivated and high energy, but also loves a good nap and cuddles. He is house trained, crate trained, and accustomed to a leash/harness. Sarge will walk on a leash but is prone to pulling, especially when there are other people or dogs near by. He was kept with other dogs at the shelter with no issue, but we have found that he plays a bit rough with younger dogs. Sarge is a sweet dog who needs a big home with a yard and lots of enrichment from his owners. His biggest fault is being too sweet and excited to meet new people. He knows a few tricks and commands that he will listen to, especially if food is involved.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Olivia!Olivia came to PRBJ from an overcrowded out of state rescue.  She was brought in by the Pilots for Paws which bring dogs from rural places to larger cities to help them find a home.  Unfortunately, Olivia had been waiting at this rescue since 2024 when she came in with her litter of pups.  He pups were adopted, while Olivia sat and waited.  She loves people and we are working with her on reactivity to other dogs.  It seems when she is out and about that she does well, but when in the kennels, she is not fond of any dog. At this time we are requesting a home with no other dogs.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 15, 2026, 3:32 pm

Story
Walter is not your average shelter dog—he’s a bold, opinionated guy with a lot to say and a whole lot of heart for the right person. He can be bossy and loud, especially when he’s excited or has something important to announce. One thing is non-negotiable: Walter LOVES toys. Loves them. Collects them. Buries them all over the yard like priceless treasure. So, an adopter who understands boundaries and structure will be key. Walter needs time and patience to build trust. He isn’t the kind of dog who falls in love at first sight—but once he forms a relationship, his softer, more affectionate side starts to shine. The bond you earn with Walter is a special one. Because Walter does best with slow, thoughtful introductions, he is available by appointment only. Please call the shelter to check availability and set up a meet-and-greet.***Thanks to generous donors, Walter will go home with a FREE adoption success kit (includes a crate, collar, leash, and other goodies)!!!****** padding-bottom: 0; box-shadow: 0 2px 8px 0 rgba(63,69,81,0.16); margin-top: 1.6em; margin-bottom: 0.9em; overflow: hidden; border-radius: 8px; will-change: transform;`>

Story
Brynlee is very playful. Lots of energy. My work schedule doesn’t permit the time she deserves. She has a brother and I would love to keep them together. They are wonderful pets. This is very difficult for me. I know it’s the best for them both. I work 12-16 hour days. I am also relocating to a rental which I cannot take them. I want them in a loving home as I have given them. I will be moving in the next 2 months. If anyone has room for these babies and can give them the love they deserve. Brynlee bday is June 30, 2023 and Chaz is December 3, 2022

These pups are in Winter Park, Florida too!

Story
Sasha is being fostered in PA. Sasha is a 6 year old German Shepard looking for love and adventure. She is a beautiful shining star who doesn’t like sharing the spotlight or your love of other pets. Sasha would have a great time in a fenced yard to roam and play but also enjoys long walks. She would do ok without a yard if she had an exercise buddy to take her on walking adventures each day. This very smart girl is almost completely blind, but may see some shadows when close. She is a quick learner. Sasha knows “Sit”, “Down” and is learning “Wait” (but really doesn't want to....hee hee). “Off” is still a work in progress because of her affection for humans and counter surfing. However she does not beg at the dinner table and rests quietly during that time. Sasha is completely house broken and has had zero accidents since living in her foster home. She is almost trustworthy in the house, as long as the counters are clear of food and the paper towels and toilet paper are secured LOL. Sasha is loyal and eager to please. She will make a wonderful addition to a family that will match her energy, love and affection. BDRA has voted against the use of electrical fencing effective immediately.
