Story
Leggs is a resilient 32 pound, 8 month old pup working hard to become part of the world around him. While he’s naturally timid because he was feral the first three months of his life, he’s been bravely approaching new challenges and turned into the most amazing dog at home. Leggs is very intelligent and sensitive. He’s a bit cuddler and loves wrapping himself up in a blanket and hunkering down with his soft toys. He’s fantastic on a leash and incredibly gentle with myself, my children, and other dogs (including my super senior). He tries to play with cats, but also respects their space. He is crate trained, goes to the door when he needs to go potty, leash trained, and doing well on basic obedience and threshold training. He’s done well on trips to the park, long-leash walking on nature trails, and trips to pet-friendly stores such as Petco. His perfect home would be one that understands his initial need to decompress. After that, you can expect the most loyal and intuitive companion. Leggs is being fostered in Texas but can be transported out of state. You can apply directly for Leggs by clicking the Apply for Adoption button on the linked page. https://www.shelterluv.com/embed/animal/FODS-A-835 All our dogs come with 30 days of free post-adoption support through Petcademy.org. This benefit includes free access to Petcademy's team of trainers/behaviorists, as well as access to online materials that will help you settle your new family member into your home. You can text unlimited questions to Petcademy and they'll respond within 24 hours (Monday-Friday).

Story
Yahtzee #26026; female; mixed breed. Estimated age 1 year; approximate weight 50#. Heartworm Negative. Spayed and up-to-date on shots. This beautiful dark brindle girl was found starving on the side of the highway when a trucker picked her up. He had her vetted and back to a healthy weight and planned to keep her. Life plans changed and he found himself in need of lengthy medical treatment and a long hospital stay. Living alone, he had no choice but to surrender her. For almost two months she was in a home environment and riding shotgun in a truck. During her time with the finder she played with a 4 year old child. She was not exposed to dogs but did live with a cat. She is housebroken and walks well on leash. At the shelter she plays with her roomie, Copper.

Story
Larry is an approx. 3 years old Dutch Shepherd mix who weighs approx. 52 lbs. Larry is a certified dork. A professional goofball. He does not sit — ever. Not for treats, not for manners, not for anyone. Instead, he prefers the full-speed, run-you-over-at-100-mph greeting approach. It’s bold. It’s enthusiastic. It’s very Larry. He is also a big fan of giving kisses using all of his teeth, directly on your nose, ear, or mouth. Personal space is not something he believes in. Now let’s talk about the love of his life: Mabel. His wifey. His soulmate. His everything. They met in boarding after we rescued them and somehow — despite the fact that Mabel famously does not like other dogs — she fell head over heels for Larry and his goofy self. They are inseparable. Larry is also best buds with Teddy and enjoys playing with Prissy, but Mabel only tolerates Teddy and is not accepting applications for any additional members of their thruple. Boundaries have been set. Larry and Mabel are bonded and will not be separated. Honestly, two dogs are better than one anyway — especially when one is the brains (Mabel) and one is… Larry.

Story
True to his name, King Tut is the most regal of Dutch Shepherds—handsome, dignified, and full of heart. At 3 years old, he’s the perfect blend of maturity and playfulness, and he’s a genuine bestie-in-waiting just hoping to be chosen by his forever family. King Tut has great manners and is incredibly loyal once you’ve earned his trust. He’s had a tough start to life, but his resilience and progress are nothing short of amazing. He’s nearly finished with his heartworm treatment, which is the final step before he’s ready to head home with his forever people. He does well with other dogs, absolutely adores people, and lights up every room with his magnificent brindle coat and his huge, goofy grin—especially when the sunlight hits just right. If you’re looking for a devoted companion with a powerful spirit, a soft heart, and a smile that will steal yours, King Tut is ready to take his place as the king of your home. 🐾❤️

Story
Meet Sara — Your New Best Friend in a Perfectly Trained, 45-Pound Package of Love At just 20 months old, Miss Sara is already proving to be the kind of once-in-a-lifetime dog everyone hopes for—smart, affectionate, eager to please, and now… beautifully trained. Originally adopted as a puppy, Sara was very loved—but when her owner sadly fell ill and could no longer care for her, everything changed. She returned to us with a heart full of love, but without the manners every young pup needs. We knew this girl had potential, so off she went to a professional 3-week training program… and wow, is she showing off. &#226&#156&#133 Training? She’s nailing it. &#226&#156&#133 People? She adores them. &#226&#156&#133 Dogs? Instant besties. &#226&#156&#133 Kids? She belly-crawls just to be close to them—it’s beyond precious. We believe she’s a Dutch Shepherd mix, weighing in at about 45 pounds, with a gorgeous, sleek coat and a heart that beats for human connection. She is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on all vaccines—and yes, ready to go! Now, she’s just looking for a home that can match her devotion with love and guidance. Toys are her jam, and she’ll happily entertain herself or join you for a game of fetch. No kitties for this girl, please! Chasing them is just too much fun, and she needs a cat-free home to thrive. Sara is the kind of dog who makes you feel like the most important person in the world. Her loyalty is unmatched, her spirit is bright, and her readiness for her forever home couldn’t be clearer. Interested in giving this beautiful girl her happily-ever-after? Email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com today. Let Sara show you what love, intelligence, and a second chance can really look like. PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.March 7, 2026, 12:24 pm
