🚨 URGENT: Heath Needs a Hero Before It’s Too Late 🚨 At just 7 months old, Heath should be discovering the world, chasing toys, and curling up in the arms of a family who loves him—not facing the unthinkable in a shelter kennel. This charming young pup is full of personality. His adorable perky ears seem to have a mind of their own, and his bright, expressive face is impossible to forget. Friendly, curious, and dog friendly, Heath has all the makings of an incredible lifelong companion. He’s still just a baby with his whole life ahead of him. Every tail wag, every hopeful glance through the kennel door is a reminder that all he’s waiting for is someone to give him a chance. Please don’t let his story end before it truly begins. Heath deserves birthday celebrations, belly rubs, squeaky toys, and a family to call his own—not a shelter deadline. PLEASE HELP TEXT KAREN 4136298152

Story
Meet Susye — A Young Girl Ready for a Home of Her Own Sometimes the best dogs have the hardest beginnings. Susye’s second chance began when a Nashville Fire Department EMT realized that the homeless woman caring for her would not be leaving the hospital. He could not bear the thought of this young dog being left with nowhere to go, so he brought Susye home and made sure she was safe. For the past three months, Susye has been living with her firefighter foster dad and his four dogs. She has been a happy, peaceful addition to the family and has settled into home life beautifully. She is crate trained when needed, loves using the dog door, and enjoys spending time in the fenced backyard. Now fully vetted and spayed, Susye is turning 8 months old this month and is ready for a forever home with the stability she deserves. She weighs 43 pounds. We believe Susye may be a Feist, Rat Terrier, or Jack Russell Terrier mix, possibly with some herding breed influence. She is bright, active, affectionate, and eager to be part of whatever is happening. Like many young herding and terrier mixes, she will do best with regular exercise, engagement, and continued training. Although Susye adores her foster dog siblings, they are all older. Her foster dad cannot help but think she would especially love a home with a younger, playful dog companion who can match her energy and enjoy growing up alongside her. Her firefighter foster dad also works 12-hour shifts, and caring for five dogs has become more than he can reasonably maintain long-term. Susye is loved and safe, but this was always meant to be her stepping stone—not her final destination. She would thrive with a family that can give her companionship, consistency, playtime, and plenty of opportunities to use her smart young mind. A securely fenced yard would be wonderful, and another playful dog would be a big bonus. Susye has already experienced more uncertainty than any puppy should. Now she is ready for the part of her story where she belongs somewhere for good. ccrnewengland@gmail.com PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.August 10, 2026, 1:45 pm

Story
Mitsy has become a longer term resident with us and we aren't sure why or how?!? This petite little girl is so cute and such a love bug we don't get it. Mitsy has been in a foster home with us since February! How can this be? Mitsy is beyond ready and reserving of her forever home so don't wait!    Mitsy is around 1.5 years old and a small and compact 30 lbs. She is such a darling and is full of love, cuddles and snuggles. She is dog friendly but we think with the right family could also be an only dog. She can but a bit timid and unsure in new situations so a patient, loving and supportive person or family would be best. She is a playful and silly girl who brings a smile to your face.    Mitsy is crate and house trained. She is excellent in her crate when her foster mom isn't home. She is too interested in cats so no kitties please. Mitsy would be ok in a home with kids 8+. Little kid movement and sounds are too frightening for her. Mitsy loves to zoom in the yard but could also be ok learning to leash walk for exercise. She does potty fine on leash but will need some time to gain confidence with leash walking in busier areas.    Mitsy is so sweet and affectionate and we can't wait for her to find her forever person/people to share this with. She is a world class nap buddy after she has spent time playing. Mitsy occupies herself well with toys, bones and kongs and is a great house guest and co worker while her foster mom works during the day. Don't miss out on this awesome pup!    Email us at almosthome4dogs@yahoo.com to get an application!    (Local adoptions preferred — Philadelphia and tri-state area [South Jersey and northern Delaware] only.)
