Story
Sam is an adorable little mixture of chihuahua and ??? He joined Almost Home to find the perfect place where he can spend his golden years being pampered. Sadly, Sammy’s owner passed away and he ended up in an overcrowded, southern shelter. He has been adjusting well in his foster home and is getting along with the other dogs in the home. He even likes hanging out with the kitties. Sammy has learned that toys can be fun and has  a great time tossing them around. He likes going for walks and is a great cuddler. He  is learning about house training and wears belly bands in the house for just in case. . Because of his small  size (8.6 lbs)  and age (10ish),  an adult only home or home with older children is needed.  (Local adoptions preferred — Philadelphia and tri-state area [South Jersey and northern Delaware] only.) PLEASE READ BEFORE CONTACTING US! We are NOT a shelter: All of our dogs live in private homes with foster families. Come and meet the Almost Home dogs and their fosters at our Meet & Greet events, where you can learn more about our wonderful dogs from the people who live with them, find out which dogs are on their way and when they’ll arrive, and fill out an application to adopt or foster. We cannot adopt to homes where electric-shock fencing systems or training collars are used. Story
Dean (aka Dino) came to us from a southern shelter after his owner passed away. He is an adorable, scruffy little 9 lb chihuahua mix. Dino is a senior boy at approximately 12 y/o with plenty of love left to give. He’s looking for his forever home where he can live out his golden years.  Dino has been doing very well in his foster home. He is crate trained and loves his cozy blankets. He does well with the other dogs and even the kitties in the home. Dino Is a pretty laid-back boy who is content with a short walk and lounging in the sunshine or finding a comfy dog bed to snuggle up in.. Due to his size and age we are looking for a home without young children for Dean.. (Local adoptions preferred — Philadelphia and tri-state area [South Jersey and northern Delaware] only.) PLEASE READ BEFORE CONTACTING US! We are NOT a shelter: All of our dogs live in private homes with foster families. Story
Tom + Jerry were surrendered to ACCT Philly and were then transferred to EASEL. They are about 11 lbs each and estimated to be 8 years old. We suspect these sweet boys are brothers (and would love to keep them together if we can), but they sure do have different personalities! Tom is active, playful, and wants all the attention. Jerry is a bit more reserved and enjoys quiet time on the couch and playing with his favorite bear. They enjoy each other’s company but also like their separate spaces. Typical siblings right ?! They are both friendly with large dogs and don’t seem to mind cats. They still have many good years ahead of them and we know the right family is out there waiting for them. Apply to adopt this dynamic duo and give them a chance! www.easelnj.org/application-dog/ Adoption by appointment only with an approved adoption application. Please go to www.easelnj.org/adopt to submit an adoption application. Someone will be in touch within 48 hours.

Hes a chunky and friendly guy but does show his anxious tendencies and is cautious of humans approaching. He likes to take his time to warm up but if not ready, will shy away. He prefers to keep to himself but when ready, will come over to be pet. He is a sweet guy, will let you hold him. Working on his potty routine and overall doing good. Is currently living with two other small dogs and has no problem, leaves them alone for the most part but will interact with them. Overall, he would do best in a quiet home, with a single owner or small family. Please visit our website www.wagsrescue.org to learn more about this amazing dog and Wags Rescue.

I am the most loving girl once I get to know you. I was found on the streetsof North Carolina, and putin a shelter. The rescue pulled me out and brought me to Pennsylvania to find my forever family. Becauseof that it takes me a couple days to feel relaxed and safe.I am now my foster mom's shadow and love to snuggle with her. I have become a totalLove bug now that I am comfortable in my foster home.I even give kisses to my foster family. I do likemeeting new people, and will slowlycomeup to them for pets.Iam living with 2 small dogs and 2 cats. I enjoy running around the yard and playing with the other dogs. I am crate trained, although I really do notlike going in at first. I do settledown pretty quickly and go to sleep. I am doing really well withmy potty training when kept on a schedule. My foster mom says Iam the sweetest girl who will make a wonderful addition to my future family. Because I am a little nervous at first a quieter home with older kids would be best for me Please visit our website www.wagsrescue.org to learn more about this amazing dog and Wags Rescue.

Story
Lupe! This adorable, friendly little (approx 12 lb) chi is Lupe. She was originally found as a stray locally by highway construction workers and brought to a local shelter for safety. She is estimated to be 3-5 years old and we don't know much more about her history, but we are sure she has some interesting stories to tell. Lupe was considered urgent at the shelter due to some medical notes, most notably her apparently missing left eye, however she has been given the all clear by our vet and the eye does not affect her health or quality of life at all. We think it just adds to her adorableness and what she lacks in eyes she sure does make up for ears! Lupe also has some funky toes, but they also do not affect her negatively at all and now that her nails have been cut to a more manageable level she is able to walk without issue, although she truly is just as happy being carried outside to go to the bathroom. Lupe, despite all she has been through, is a really sweet dog through and through. She has done well with other lower key dogs and seems to love people. Her adoption fee includes her spay, age appropriate vaccinations and microchipping. She has also had full bloodwork done and a tested negative for heartworm and tick borne diseases. Have a chi sized hole in your heart? Lupe may just be the one to fill it! Interested? Please go to www.dogtownrescue.org and complete an online adoption application. An approved application is required to meet any of our dogs. Dog Town Rescue 1553 Bethlehem Pike Hatfield PA 19440 PA Kennel license #12275
