Adoption Donation   $    599                Located:    Ms     (Transportation costs included to the Northeast , plz ask for more details )    Age: approx   2   years old     Weight: 30  lbs Meet Lucinda! She's the most gorgeous brindle Feist, around two years old, and she was hanging around under someone's porch in Mississippi but would run whenever she saw a human being. Thank goodness one of our awesome southern rescuers was able to trap Lucinda, and after just a few days in foster care she has firmly become an indoor dog. Lucinda is loving the comfort, yummy food, attention, and affection she's getting and is spending her days relaxing in a sunbeam, prowling the backyard for squirrels, and showing her love and gratitude to her foster family. Lucinda is gentle, mild mannered, super sweet and actually smaller than she appears in pictures at 27 pounds. She was treated for heartworm in the south, and thank goodness has fully recovered, and is a happy, healthy girl.  If you are interested in adopting me, please fill out an application on our website  www.fohari.org  and email my foster parent for more information:  friendsoha@yahoo.com Please verify the location and readiness of this dog with us.  Because we save lives from various locations through out the United States, some dogs may not be in New England yet, nor ready for immediate adoption.   Our adoption application can be found here: https://fohari.org/application/  Our Adoption Process:   Go to our website and select the animal you are interested in. Story
Adoption Donation  $ 599   Located: RI (Transportation costs included to the Northeast , plz ask for more details) Age: approx  1.5 year old Weight:  23  lbs.   Blinken now Maxine is a young active Terrier mix.  Maxine was found as a stray puppy down south.  She is blind but is extremely well adapted.  She was more than likely born blind or became blind as a very young pup.  Within a couple of days she is able to navigate a home, including stairs and fenced in yards.  Maxine was adopted and has spent the last 6 months in a very loving home.  Unfortunately Maxine and the family cat have not adjusted to each other at all.  Maxine is a chaser and being blind complicates things to a degree because she is not aware when her playmates don't want to be chased. Maxine's family is devastated but feel it's best to have her in a home with NO CATS.  Maxine does do well with dogs but they would need to be dogs that like to play, run and be chased!  She loves her daily long walks and has had quite a lot of training.  She would do great with a family who is home more than not and who could either continue with her long walks, hikes or who has a fenced in yard.  She currently does not require to be crated in her home and sleeps in her own bed at night.  She is well behaved but she is always very interested when new folks come over and she is working on not jumping and settling down. She has always been good meeting children but they would need to be old enough to respect that she is blind.  Maxine is spayed and very healthy other than her vision impairment which honestly, once you meet her you will see she really is not an impairment at all.    If you are interested in adopting me, please fill out an application on our website  www.fohari.org  and email my foster parent for more information:  kyleallyn1112@yahoo.com Please verify the location and readiness of this dog with us.  Because we save lives from various locations through out the United States, some dogs may not be in New England yet, nor ready for immediate adoption.   Our adoption application can be found here: https://fohari.org/application/  Our Adoption Process:   Go to our website and select the animal you are interested in. Adoption Donation   $ 699   Located: RI  (Transportation costs included to the Northeast , plz ask for more details ) Age: Puppy   DOB:  1/7/2025   Meet Dip N Dot!  AKA Dippy (or "Dip" for short) is a well-rounded and curious puppy who loves to explore her surroundings and learn new things. She’s currently mastering her basic commands like sit, lay down, and come, and she's making steady progress with her potty training. As with most puppies, Dippy is still a bit mouthy due to her baby teeth, but give her the right toys and attention, and she settles in just fine. She loves food and treats, which makes training easier and fun! Dippy is full of playful energy and would thrive in a home that can give her plenty of physical and mental stimulation. She’s still learning not to jump up on people, so a home without very young children would be best for now. With continued training, that behavior should improve quickly. She’s been living with her brother and enjoys canine company, though she may need a patient dog companion—she hasn’t quite learned the concept of personal space yet! Dippy is shy when meeting new people, but once she warms up, her vibrant and affectionate personality really shines. Whether you're looking for a sweet, smart, and slightly goofy pup to grow with your family or a fun companion for your current dog, Dippy is ready to win your heart.     *** As part of the adoption donation this pup will participate in FOA's spay/neuter program or other programs available through FOHA. All puppies will have age appropriate vaccinations.  All small Pups need to be adopted by by children old enough to understand how to be respectful and gentle in handling a small young pup. ***     If you are interested in adopting me, please fill out an application on our website   www.fohari.org and email my foster parent for more information:  wideye13@yahoo.com Please verify the location and readiness of this dog with us.  Because we save lives from various locations through out the United States, some dogs may not be in New England yet, nor ready for immediate adoption.       Our adoption application can be found here: https://fohari.org/application/  Our Adoption Process:   Go to our website and select the animal you are interested in. Story
Rocket Man is a dog with a strong personality. He is short and stocky, making him stand out among other dogs. Rocket Man enjoys being in control and likes to be the boss of the pack. He craves attention and loves being around people, always seeking out affection and playtime. However, his assertiveness can sometimes lead to him bullying less dominant or submissive dogs. Despite this behavior, Rocket Man's loving nature and need for human companionship make him an ideal companion for an active and experienced dog owner. He enjoys running around with other dogs at the dog park. With proper training and socialization, Rocket Man can become a loyal and loving pet who will always be by his owner's side.
