adoption donation : $699 weight 5 lbs  Age: 2 months as of 6/11   Elvis and his  siblings, Freddie Mercury, Taylor Swift, Joni Mitchell, Billy Idol and Elton John,  are adorable mixed breed pups who will be smaller dogs, we believe they are part feist and will likely be under 20lbs      The puppies are having a grand time in their foster home in Mississippi, running and romping together and snuggling into a great big puppy pile to nap. The puppies have had vaccinations, but will be spayed and neutered when they are older. Wags will pay for the procedure at one of the clinics that we use in the northeast or reimburse adopters what we pay if they choose to use their own vet.    Please note that Wags of Monroe county is a struggling 501(c) 3 where one woman in rural Mississippi takes care of about 150 homeless and stray dogs. Wags desperately need to raise funds to help the sick and older dogs at the rescue. Adoption fees include the transport for Mississippi, spay or neuter, deworming, vaccines and microchip. Story
Adoption Donation  $ 699  Located: RI (Transportation costs included to the Northeast , plz ask for more details) Age: approx. 8  months old  (as of 7/25/24) Weight: 25 lbs.   Nero is approximately 8 months old. He is 25 lbs. currently and listed as a Feist Mix. He was pulled from a Southern shelter where he was very frightened and not eating.  He is a little timid and would benefit from some basic training like most young pups.  He is a little nervous on a leash but that should get better with practice. He is dog and cat friendly.  He doesn't love to be in a crate but he does tolerate it. He is not destructive so he may not need a crate if left alone.  He is house trained and does love to hang out in the fenced in yard.  He is very playful and affectionate.  Nero's Southern Foster mom described him as pretty much perfect and as his Northern Foster mom I would have to agree.   I wouldn't expect him to be no more than 30 to 35 lbs fully grown.  As you can see he has quite fabulous ears and a beautiful black and silver coat.  He has met different people, including children and done well.  He may be little too timid for a home with toddlers but other than that he will make a fantastic addition to any family.     If you are interested in adopting me, please fill out an application on our website  www.fohari.org  and email my foster parent for more information:  kyleallyn1112@yahoo.com Please verify the location and readiness of this dog with us.  Because we save lives from various locations through out the United States, some dogs may not be in New England yet, nor ready for immediate adoption.   Our adoption application can be found here: https://fohari.org/application/  Our Adoption Process:   Go to our website and select the animal you are interested in. ALL animals are in foster homes as we do NOT have a  shelter where you can visit. Some animals are in foster care in New England, and some are located in other states. If the initials following the animals name are a state, then that is the state where the animal is located. If initials are not a state, then those are the initials of the foster home outside of New England and you will not be able to meet the animal ahead of time. Complete our online application You will be contacted by phone or email by the foster parent  or a member of our adoption team and will have the opportunity to find out more about the animal, and ask any questions that you have to ensure the animal is a good fit for your household. If the animal is local, you can meet the animal, but you would not be able to take the dog home until you are approved to adopt. If you feel comfortable that the animal is a good fit for your home, at this point, you would submit a sum of $200 as a partial payment of the adoption fee as we process your application. From our end, we will check references and schedule a home visit. If you are not approved to adopt, any payment sent to us would be promptly returned in full. At this point, we will remove the animal from our adoption sites and hold the animal for you while we check your references. If you live in an apartment, or a condo, we will need to verify permission to own the animal from your landlord or condo board. Please let your vet’s office and references know we will be contacting them. If your  references are positive, we will schedule a home visit by a volunteer. Please try to accommodate the home visit volunteer as most  have busy schedules. Delays in the visit will result in a delay in the adoption. Once you are approved, you will receive an e-mail with your  adoption contract attached. This e-mail will have details about pick up, the balance of the adoption fee that is owed, etc. Please email your signed & witnessed contract and pay your adoption fee in full, and for any animals located out of state, you will be contacted for details about transport to New England. Once you have paid your adoption fee in full and sent back your contract, you can make arrangement to pick up your animal from the foster home or from transport depending on where the animal is located. Please bring a harness, collar, ID tag and leash when you are picking up the dog unless otherwise instructed by the foster parent. Our extensive approval process is intended to ensure the best fit between our animals and adopters. Friends of Homeless Animals (FOHA) reserves the right to deny any adoption application with or without disclosure of cause. Your adoption fee helps to cover the cost of all age appropriate vetting and transportation. FOHARI.ORG makes no explicit or implicit guarantees in reference to the health, temperament and/or the breed of the animal. The animal is adopted ‘as is’, and the adopter assumes all responsibility for treatment of any and all existing conditions or any other conditions of physical or temperament changes that may occur. FOHARI.ORG will provide the animal with the basic vaccines, heart worm test and sterilization of dogs and cats before adoption if the age and current health of the animal permits. While FOHARI.ORG makes every effort to place only healthy animals, FOHARI.ORG cannot guarantee the health of any animal, and shall not be held responsible for any medical expenses that may be incurred. Rescuer will provide information received from the veterinarian exam, observations on the temperament of the animal and a best guess of the breed. Friends of Homeless Animals Inc. Please contact Sandra (sandralamb@comcast.net) for more information about this pet. Adoption Donation   $   699               Located:      MS   (Transportation costs included to the Northeast , plz ask for more details )    Age: approx    16 weeks old as of 7/10/2024 Weight:   9 lbs Meet Harley a southern mix pup who like so many were born to stray moms down south. His mom was found alone on a dirt road in the pouring rain, a pup herself at just over a year. Thankfully she was rescued and two pups were born shortly after. Harley ended up with mange but thankfully he had a wonderful southern rescuer who took such great care of him. Hard to believe he is the same dog!   Harley is now 16 weeks and just shy of 10 pounds. We don’t know what his mix is but we know he is such a sweet guy that deserves a life of love   Tomorrow we will feature his mommy, Cleo! We are hoping when Harley arrives to New England at the end of July he will have a family waiting for him.  If you are interested in adopting me, please fill out an application on our website  www.fohari.org  and email my foster parent for more information:  friendsoha@yahoo.com Please verify the location and readiness of this dog with us.  Because we save lives from various locations through out the United States, some dogs may not be in New England yet, nor ready for immediate adoption.   Our adoption application can be found here: https://fohari.org/application/  Our Adoption Process:   Go to our website and select the animal you are interested in.
