Story
A SWEET, ACTIVE & PLAYFUL GUY:  Approx. 6 years / Approx. 40 lbs.   Hello, I’m Alex!  I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control, and I am so grateful that they have taken me into their program so I can find a new family to love and be loved by!  I was adopted for a few weeks, but they realized I needed more exercise than they could provide.  I spent some time in the prison/foster training program and had a blast!  Now I’m ready to find my furever family! • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I’ve met other dogs at Mostly Mutts and liked them a lot, so if you have a very playful dog at home who would like a buddy, let’s meet!  My trainer thinks that I’d benefit from having a dog playmate in my new home to help me burn off some energy and pal around with, especially when you aren’t home. / Cats unknown. / I met nice kids around 10 years old at Mostly Mutts and liked them as well as in a home I visited! When we played, I was a little mouthy and jumpy, so a home with kids ages 10 and up could be a good fit for me, so let’s meet and best no toddlers that I may bump over. • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I am a super sweet and affectionate fellow with a very active nature who wants to be very active with my family!  I’m a real people dog and have great focus – which is wonderful for my continued training.  I am a masterful high jumper, so best not to leave me unattended in a yard.  Perhaps we can learn agility together for fun!  I heard one of the volunteers say that I’m a happy and goofy boy . . . his 11-year-old son even specifically requested to take me out for a second day trip . . . sounds like a ringing endorsement to me! I’m showing some separation anxiety so I’d love a family member who is home a lot, perhaps a stay-at-home or work-from-home person that I could hang out with and be active with too.  I think I’d also be a good candidate for doggie daycare which sounds fun to me! / My energy level is very high at 9-10 so I need regular exercise please.        • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I’m a proud graduate of the Mostly Mutts University training program so I’ve learned the ‘sit’, ‘stay’, ‘down’, ‘come’, ‘drop it’, ‘leave it’ and ‘place’ commands.  I also use proper door etiquette and have good leash manners as well as accept nice strangers without jumping. / My crate manners are good at Mostly Mutts and in the prison/foster training program for 3 – 4 hours at a time, but I wouldn’t want to spend a lot of time in a crate. / My potty manners have been good at MM’s and on the prison/foster training program schedule too. • LIKES/DISLIKES:  I like toys (especially tennis balls and stuffed toys) and love to play, so I look forward to lots of play sessions with you.  A fenced yard would be great in my new home, but I may dig, so – as mentioned above, don’t leave me there unattended.  I like to splash in my water pail so maybe I’m a water dog in the making, lol.  I enjoy getting affection and will reward you with nice kisses.  I also enjoy walks, so let’s go lots of places together and of course be active! / Other than what’s mentioned above I can’t think of any dislikes, though I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL:  I’m current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered.  I’ve started 2 medications for some separation anxiety and not getting as much exercise as I need, and they are helping! So just ask for more information about that.  I am looking for a home where my family will be active with me, and we’ll have lots of fun! My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.  April 25, 2024, 7:01 am

Story
Introducing Bella, a lovely black lab mix with a heart full of playfulness. Bella came to us off the euthanasia list from a local shelter. Before arriving at the shelter Bella spent most of her life outside with a short tether. This strong hearted girl ended up giving birth in our rescue and nursed a whole litter of puppies. Now it is Bella's time to shine and find a home for herself. Despite a tough past, Bella is ready to embrace a new chapter of love and joy. She may take some time to form a close bond with new people and dogs, but once she does her affection knows no bounds. Now don't let her fool you she still loves affection from new people and dogs! Bella thrives in a home with older children and dogs of similar size, preferably with even tempered companions. If you're seeking a loyal friend who appreciates playtime and patience, Bella is the perfect addition to your family. Open your heart to this resilient canine companion! Adoption fee: $250.00 Estimated DOB: 7/18/2019 Apply to adopt today at bossypawsrescue.org

Story
I have had Jake since May of 2019, He is 4 years old. I bought him from a fellow church member. He is crate trained and house trained. He loves to play fetch with his ball and loves his toys and bones. Super sweet and will stay by your side wherever you go. He loves to run and play and he loves to sleep on the couch and curl up next to you. Jake loves company. He gets really excited around people he doesn't know or when people come over to the house. He just wants their attention and he doesn't realize how big he is. He is definitely a mama's boy. I am recently divorced and am having to work so much more than I used to. He needs someone who can take the time with him. I just don't have it. His crate, bed and toys will go with him, along with any food or treats he has. We are in Winder/Auburn area. We are not in Sugar Hill.
