Story
This is Doug. He just turned 3 in April. I've had him since he was 12 weeks old. Life has a funny way of changing in ways I can't control and he deserves better than what I am able to offer now. He is a great companion, loves walks, loves the park. He needs to be a solo dog without children. He does great with older kids. He was raised with 2 cats that he has done amazing with, but I'm not sure how he will fair to new cats, I'd lean towards fine. He is a happy boy. He has common sense, isn't crazy and can chill. He's wonderfully potty trained and goes to the door when he needs out. Does not chew things, loves playing fetch. Would do better with a yard than apartment living unless you're able to take him out all day.-3 years old-Flat Coated Retreiver Mix-Neutered-Leash trained-House trained-Up to date on all Vaccines-Gave him Flea and Tick, heartworm prevention this month. We'd like to interview and meet the adoptive parents. He's a great boy and deserves a great home.

Story
Roscoe is a very striking, handsome, dapper hound. He loves to play with his brother, sister and foster siblings. He tries to be as brave as possible but always approaches new situations with a lot of caution. Roscoe loves exploring the outdoors. He is a sweet, often goofy, athletic hound. His markings are very distinctive including bright "pumpkins seeds" above his sparkling eyes and absolutely adorable freckles. Roscoe is good with other dogs of all ages & sizes and has been introduced to cats but at a distance. He loves puppies! Kid testing has been very limited due to the pandemic.  Roscoe was born to a stray Mom in a dilapidated abandoned shack.  Completely feral and terrified of humans the Mom could and would not be caught. It was a freezing cold rainy January day when we first saw her litter of 14 huddled together in the corner of the abandoned house with no windows or doors. Too young to take, all we could do was leave food for the Mom each day hoping she would not leave or move her puppies. But she did move them numerous times. Sadly we continued to find dead puppies until one day they all disappeared. At age 4.5 months we were notified that 5 puppies were eating at the abandoned house. We recognized them by their markings and age. These pups were also feral by this time. But we could not leave them to live their lives as strays in a rural county with no animal control or shelter. Were they would likely be shot, poisoned or trapped to be used as bait dog's.  Three of Roscoe's siblings have been adopted and are absolutely wonderful pets. Roscoe and his brother Deputy are still being fostered.  Roscoe will require a very patient adopter or foster  home that is experienced with fearful dogs. His foster home currently has a lot of dogs, including a medical foster. They are managing so many personalities and dynamics they cannot give him the one on one attention he desperately needs. He absolutely requires a fenced yard. Perhaps with another dog that loves to be outside. A family that will give him time and space to adjust. Dirt Road Doggie’s Rescue will provide everything he needs and our full support as he transitions to new surroundings. He will be challenging. But like his siblings, once the barrier is lifted you will have an amazing, special boy to love. Roscoe has a precious tender heart and sweet, gentle soul. He is very special.  Roscoe is up to date on vaccines, neutered, microchipped and heartworm negative. Crate trained, a bit stubborn on a leash but we are working on that.  He is lovingly fostered in Rutledge GA. https://awo.petstablished.com/pets/public/816346 ##816346##

Story
Deputy was born to a stray Mom in a dilapidated abandoned shack.  Completely feral and terrified of humans the Mom could not and would not be caught. It was a freezing cold rainy January day when I first saw her litter of 14 huddled together in the corner of the abandoned house with no windows or doors. Too young to take, all we could do was leave food for the Mom each day hoping she would not leave or move her puppies. But she did move them numerous times. Where they would likely be shot, poisoned or trapped to be used as bait dog's.  Three of Deputy's siblings have been adopted and are absolutely wonderful pets. Deputy and his brother Roscoe are still being fostered. Deputy was always the most cautious boy of his litter. He is extremely smart and curious, wants to play and be included, but often at a distance. It's been a slow process to gain his trust. Deputy bears a striking resemblance to Paw Patrols "Chase." He has coonhound markings including the distinctive "pumpkin seeds" above his big sweet brown eyes. With a long basset hound shaped body, short legs, and adorable east/west facing chubby front paws.  Deputy is one of a kind and so stinking cute. Deputy is good with other dogs of all ages & sizes and has been introduced to cats but at a distance. He's a healthy stocky boy with a lush shiny coat. He has the most expressive eyes. That tell me he wants to come closer but just needs to learn more trust and confidence.  Deputy will require a very patient adopter or foster home that is experienced with fearful dogs. His foster home currently has a lot of dogs, including a medical foster. They are managing so many personalities and dynamics they cannot give him the one on one attention he desperately needs. He absolutely needs a fenced yard. Dirt Road Doggie’s Rescue will provide everything he needs and our full support as he transitions to new surroundings. He is a terrific watch dog. Keenly aware and protective. He will be challenging. But like his siblings, once the barrier is lifted you will have an amazing little guy to love. Deputy needs a hero. ♥  Deputy is being lovingly fostered in Rutledge Ga.  ##816349##

Story
This is Gracie Moon (moondowg) for short. She is about 6-7 years old now and is currently in a home where they are not able to keep her anymore. For personal reasons I have had to re-home her prior to now and it’s been a hard process not being able to keep her, and also finding someone she can be with forever. She is extremely smart and is amazing at fetch. She has chicken and grain allergies and isn’t the best with other animals but she IS getting older and calmer. She is house trained and crate trained. Due to unforeseen circumstances, she is undergoing surgery on her ear next Wednesday, and the current owners are taking care of all of her medical issues right now and making sure she is healed properly and healthy before finding her a new home. I am unable to keep her myself, and they cannot afford it after going through this medical emergency. I really need an experienced dog lover to love and care for her so she can live out the rest of her life happy and not suffer anymore.

Story
Meet Theo! He is a 3 year old big goofy boy and definitely has some lab in him, but we aren’t actually sure about his breed. He’s 93 pounds and absolutely loves people. Expect lots of butt wiggles from this guy once he gets to know you. I adopted him about five months ago from someone who had an injury and could no longer give him the exercise he needs. As guilty as it makes me feel, I am moving in with my fiancé who doesn't have the space he needs and stressed cats. That being said, he needs a cat that has the ability to tell him off when he tries to play because he will listen and walk away. Great with other dogs especially medium/large dogs that are also respectful. He needs to eat separately since he displays some resource guarding but other than that just like any dog once he gets to know your dog they can play with toys and hang out without supervision. Can include his invisible fence for an added fee, but he will come with his crate, food, collar/accessories, treats, bowls, bed

Story
Arthur is a beautiful 9-year-old black Labrador looking for a loving forever home. He's a gentle, calm soul who has been a wonderful companion, and we're hoping to find him a family who will cherish him just as much as we do. **About Arthur:** - Gentle and calm, the perfect laid-back companion - Great with children of all ages - Gets along well with other dogs - Fully house trained - Is leash trained but could use some more help with his manners At 9 years old, Arthur has all the love of a Labrador with none of the chaos of puppyhood. He knows his manners, loves a good cuddle, and will happily settle beside you on the sofa after a relaxed walk. Senior dogs make incredibly rewarding companions; they're grateful, loyal, and full of heart. Arthur is being rehomed through no fault of his own, and this is not a decision being made lightly. We want nothing more than for him to land somewhere safe, warm, and full of love. If you can offer Arthur the home he deserves, please reach out.
