Story
Meet this handsome 3.5-year-old Flat-Coated Retriever mix with a big personality and an even bigger heart! This sweet boy is happiest when he's with his people and isn't shy about showing it—expect an enthusiastic greeting complete with happy jumps to say hello. He's a smart, food-motivated pup who already knows sit, paw, and is working hard on mastering down. With tasty treats and a little patience, he's eager to keep learning. This fun-loving guy has high energy and is always ready for adventure once he's medically cleared. He loves chew toys and is a bit of a chatterbox, so don't be surprised if he has plenty to say throughout the day! Right now, he's undergoing treatment for heartworms, which means he'll need a calm home where he can take it easy and avoid strenuous activity while he recovers. It may be a challenge for such an active boy, but with proper treatment and a little patience, he'll be ready to enjoy all the adventures life has to offer. This boy will need a cat-free home, as he does not do well around feline friends. If you're looking for a loyal companion who loves people, enjoys learning, and will happily offer you his paw (and plenty of affection), this lovable retriever mix could be your perfect match. All he needs is a family willing to help him through his recovery and give him the loving home he deserves. Abraham is available for adoption only in the Atlanta area; He must be able to come to Furkids' shelter for treatments. and his adoption fee is $315. Abraham has been neutered, is up to date on all vaccinations & preventatives, and is microchipped. If you want to know more about Abraham, please complete a survey at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/FKDS/Dog. After submitting a survey, an adoption counselor will contact you within 72 hours to give you more information about the dog you are interested in adopting and to arrange for you to meet. You must be at least 21 years of age to adopt.

Story
Looking for a fun-loving, cuddly companion? Apollo might be your perfect match! At 35ish lbs, Apollo is the ideal medium-sized pup. As for his breed? Your guess is as good as ours! He has a sleek, shiny coat like a Flat-Coated Retriever but the smaller size of possibly a Jack Russell terrier mix. What we do know is that Apollo is an absolute sweetheart. He loves people, enjoys playing with other dogs, and brings a happy, friendly energy wherever he goes. Whether he's making new human friends or romping around with canine buddies, Apollo is sweet and playful. After playtime is over his favorite thing is cuddling with his human. Apollo was found as a stray, but he's thriving in foster care and is ready to find a family of his own. He has not been around cats while in foster care. If you're looking for a playful, affectionate dog with a sunny disposition and a bright personality, Apollo is waiting to meet you! Apply to adopt Apollo today and give this wonderful boy the forever home he’s hoping for. Thank you for your interest in one of our furry kids! Adopting from Releash Atlanta means you will adopt a dog that has been fully vaccinated, spayed/neutered, microchipped and medically cleared!! Story
Roscoe is a very striking, handsome, dapper hound. He loves to play with his brother, sister and foster siblings. He tries to be as brave as possible but always approaches new situations with a lot of caution. Roscoe loves exploring the outdoors. He is a sweet, often goofy, athletic hound. His markings are very distinctive including bright "pumpkins seeds" above his sparkling eyes and absolutely adorable freckles. Roscoe is good with other dogs of all ages & sizes and has been introduced to cats but at a distance. He loves puppies! Kid testing has been very limited due to the pandemic.  Roscoe was born to a stray Mom in a dilapidated abandoned shack.  Completely feral and terrified of humans the Mom could and would not be caught. It was a freezing cold rainy January day when we first saw her litter of 14 huddled together in the corner of the abandoned house with no windows or doors. Too young to take, all we could do was leave food for the Mom each day hoping she would not leave or move her puppies. But she did move them numerous times. Sadly we continued to find dead puppies until one day they all disappeared. At age 4.5 months we were notified that 5 puppies were eating at the abandoned house. We recognized them by their markings and age. These pups were also feral by this time. But we could not leave them to live their lives as strays in a rural county with no animal control or shelter. Were they would likely be shot, poisoned or trapped to be used as bait dog's.  Three of Roscoe's siblings have been adopted and are absolutely wonderful pets. Roscoe and his brother Deputy are still being fostered.  Roscoe will require a very patient adopter or foster  home that is experienced with fearful dogs. His foster home currently has a lot of dogs, including a medical foster. They are managing so many personalities and dynamics they cannot give him the one on one attention he desperately needs. He absolutely requires a fenced yard. Perhaps with another dog that loves to be outside. A family that will give him time and space to adjust. Dirt Road Doggie’s Rescue will provide everything he needs and our full support as he transitions to new surroundings. He will be challenging. But like his siblings, once the barrier is lifted you will have an amazing, special boy to love. Roscoe has a precious tender heart and sweet, gentle soul. He is very special.  Roscoe is up to date on vaccines, neutered, microchipped and heartworm negative. Crate trained, a bit stubborn on a leash but we are working on that.  He is lovingly fostered in Rutledge GA. https://awo.petstablished.com/pets/public/816346 ##816346##
