Story
Introducing Coco Mann, a handsome 5-year-old boy weighing in at 76 pounds. Coco may be a little nervous when meeting new people, but he truly thrives in the company of someone who is home often or has another dog companion. We have found that apartment living may not be the best fit for him, as he benefits from having someone around to spend time with. Coco's journey began when he was found in the outside kennels of the Fort Worth shelter during a time when they were asking dogs to be moved due to frigid temps. Recognizing the need for immediate help, we took him into our boarding facility for temporary housing. However, after seeing what a wonderful dog he is, we couldn't bear to send him back to the shelter. With open hearts, we made the decision to bring Coco into our rescue, where he now awaits his forever home. Since arriving in our rescue, Coco has shown us what a great dog he is. Currently living in a foster home with other dogs, Coco may feel a bit nervous around little children due to their fast movements. However, in new settings, his disposition is adorable, submissive, and happy. With time and patience, he continues to gain confidence and is now thriving on the leash. Walking beside you, Coco has become quite the pro! Coco is a couch potato by nature, but when it's playtime, he will entertain himself endlessly with a toy. He loves tossing it up in the air and engaging in playful antics. Additionally, he has shown good compatibility with cats, although proper introductions are highly recommended as each cat's personality is unique. While we're uncertain about how Coco would do with young children due to his nervous nature, we believe he would be just fine with bigger kids over the age of five. His loving and good-looking demeanor makes him an ideal companion for a family ready to give him the chance he deserves. If you're looking for a loyal and affectionate buddy, Coco is waiting to steal your heart. Don't hesitate to reach out and give this deserving pup a forever home filled with love and understanding. #AdoptCocoMann #RescueDog #ForeverHomeNeeded All Dallas Dog adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines upon finalizing adoption. Story
I have had Josie for 9.5 years and hate that I need to rehome her. She is loving, silly, and 100% wiggle butt. She loves her people, belly rubs, cuddling, and playing with her toys. She is food motivated, crate and potty trained, and is a dominant female. She has done well with some dogs after an initial demonstration of dominance and not as well with others. She is healthy, up to date on shots, but gets stiff and sore in her hips if she has played too hard. She really is the best dog and is loved by all who know her. She would make a great companion. She is 10.5 years old but does not act like it and she has plenty of love to give. I just want her to have the best golden years that she can since we do not have the space to provide for her where we are moving. She loves laying out in the sun, going for rides and walks, and just lounging with her people.

Meet She-Howlk This girl doesn’t bark, doesn’t howl—she simply steals the show with quiet confidence. She-Howlk is an absolute star. At a recent event, she greeted every person with grace, played gently with all the puppies, and read the room like a pro. She instinctively understood each dog’s vibe and adjusted her energy to match—total social genius. She-Howlk is sweet, calm, people-friendly, dog-savvy, and ready for her forever home. Whether she’s lounging quietly or mingling like the social queen she is, She-Howlk makes every moment better. Trust us—you’ll want front row seats for this one. She Howlk is super chill, very calm, loves to cuddle, loves to give kisses. She is very gentle and kind of timid with loud noises. Loves to cuddle my cat. She loves to sit on the patio and let the sun hit her. She is definitely a love bug. She’s just hangs out on the stairs waiting for the little humans to get home from school. If you’re looking for a low maintenance furry friend -she’s your gal!! Smart girl and catching on with training. On track for her age. Beautiful girl.

Story
If you’re looking for a pre-trained, young adult dog we hope you will consider Esperanza (aka Essie), who has been waiting a year for a family of her own! We will be honest — we don’t know anything about Essie’s early life, but we can infer that it didn’t include a lot of loving care from people before she and her puppies were found in a garage in South Texas. Essie was terrified by the time she made it to Dallas, and like the smart girl she is, she was very wary of new people and places. (She had zero reason to think that a van ride to Dallas was going to end well for her!) Essie’s babies were quickly adopted, and over the past year she has made INCREDIBLE progress thanks to a very patient foster who has taught her that we humans aren’t all a bunch of jerks, and life in a house can be great! These days Essie likes to play with toys, wrestle with her canine foster siblings, and is very affectionate once she’s decided that you’re worthy. She is also house trained, and knows basic obedience commands. Living with Essie will be pretty easy, her crate is her Zen Den and she will need it in her home for sleeping and when there are new people or lots of commotion in the house. Although she’s made great strides in the past year, she’s not yet ready to join your book club or Christmas party, and we think that is perfectly acceptable for a dog whose life started out pretty bad. We’d like to see Essie join a home with another dog, so she can keep building her confidence and wrestling prowess, and with a human who understands the importance of continuing Essie’s socialization.

Story
Miss Melly is a beautiful golden lab with soft eyes and happy demeanor. She is 6 years old and has been overlooked for a long time. She is playful, loving and very food motivated. She will need a fenced yard and no young kiddos. Melly is someone who deserves love, patience and will actively establish safety for her. We're looking for an adopter with a heart for Melly. She loves to give kisses! A quick learner and knows basic commands and love treats! She likes to go in her crate even with the door open! Melly is a little unsure of new people, usually men and needs slow intros with dogs. She has shown that with true decompression and slow intros she can get along great with another dog. Story
'Grow old along with me, the best is yet to be' - Robert Browning Amora is a sweetheart with a heart full of love and just the right amount of senior dog energy. She enjoys walking around the neighborhood just as much as she loves staying indoors sleeping on the couch. She loves people, food, and naps...in no particular order. While Amora is crate trained, her laid-back personality doesn't really require it. This love bug is looking for a forever home where she can thrive as the only four-legged family member. In return, she offers a lifetime of tail wags, kisses, and cozy cuddling sessions. She is such a sweet soul. She happily will jump up beside you and press her little body close for pets and loving. She is super sweet, super calm and always ready for belly rubs. She seems to have some lab, terrier and dachshund as she has a long body and is a low rider. Amora is knee-high and 'knee-din' a home that will love her furever. She loves her stuffies and anything that squeaks. She is a sweet girl and loves her humans. This sweet momma was being given away for free with her 9 puppies. We always hate to see that and while we can't always do anything we were able to wrangle enough fosters to save this little family. Beautiful retriever found as stray in the country. Nice family took her in and soon after she gave birth to 10 beautiful puppies. The puppies are now weaned and in foster homes ready to find their furever homes just as their sweet mom is. Since found as stray and desperate to find safety for her family she is a bit shy and takes some time to warm up but now that she can focus on herself we see improvements each day.

Ben checks all the boxes of the pickiest adopters: I want a low energy large breed dog ✅ I want a puppy that lets me sleep in and through the night ✅ I want a snuggly pup that’s also independent ✅ I want a classic family puppy that looks like the ones youd see in a tv show ✅ I want a puppy but not a lot of work ✅ I want a puppy thats everyones BFF ✅ He is seriously all these things and more. Since fostering this guy and we are obsessed. 🤩 everyone’s his friend but he respects boundaries, he’s a lump of dead weight snuggled in your lap, but will find a spot across the room and sploof on the floor. Great in a crate, sleeps all night, sweetest temperament, and this guy gives major puppy eyes. 🥺 Ben and Jerry two young pups found wandering a busy road near a park. Story
Snickers is a 4 month old puppy who loves to cuddle on the couch and play in the backyard. He’s kennel trained and goes in when we say the word kennel. We’re working on basic commands and leash walking. He’s great with other dogs and our 1 year old son. A perfect family dog! This beautiful retriever was found as stray on Christmas Day. A good samaritan took her in and as soon as she knew she was safe she quickly delivered 10 little puppies. Adopting puppies is exciting and can be one of the most loving experiences. Puppies are young and cute, they are energetic, eager to learn, eager to please, happy, and exuberant. But it requires a significant commitment by their humans. While training puppies you need time, patience, consistency, routine and lots of love. Providing these essential elements helps them grow into well-adjusted, happy, and healthy furever companions. While we don't want to discourage anyone from adopting a puppy and want to continue to save more, we want the ones adopted to be successful in their homes. We have a large amount of resources available to help families navigate their lives with a new puppy.
