Hi, I'm Black Jack! I'm a happy, playful, and loving dog who enjoys spending time with my humans and dog friends. I love to play, go for walks, and explore new places. Whether I'm running off-leash or walking calmly on a leash, I'm just happy to be with you.I was found alone on the boardwalk, covered in bite wounds, including a large one on my leg. I also had ehrlichia and anemia, but I've recovered well thanks to care and love. I'm very gentle and friendly with everyone. I'm not a guard dog -- I'll happily greet anyone who comes my way. I get along great with other dogs and I'm eager to learn new tricks if you give me the time to train.I would do best with an active young person, a couple, or a family with older kids who want a loyal and playful companion.This dog is currently in foster care in La Paz, Mexico, but will be transported upon adoption or foster placement. As a U.S. nonprofit, Hope 4 La Pawz, handles all logistics and provides full behavioral and medical info in advance.

Meet Izzy – A Heart of Gold in Every Way Izzy is a breathtaking 2-year-old red Golden Retriever with a soft, silky coat, kind soulful eyes, and the gentle spirit the breed is so beloved for. She weighs around 55 lbs and is the definition of sweetness—trusting, loving, and eager to be near her people. Izzu is currently located in Houston, TX, but is available for adoption directly from transport in the Greater Seattle area. As a puppy, Izzy was given as a Christmas gift to two young children by a man who would later become violent. This man used Izzy as a tool of fear and control, threatening to hurt her in front of the children to silence them, and even assaulting their mother when she tried to protect her sweet pup. Thankfully, the mother bravely escaped and got her family to safety, with their abuser behind bars. Out of deep love for Izzy, she made the heartbreaking decision to rehome her so Izzy could have a chance at the peaceful, loving life she deserves. Izzy is now ready for the next chapter of her new life. Izzy has been in foster care in Houston, Texas for several months and is quite a remarkable pup. She is fully potty trained, house trained, and has excellent indoor manners. Izzy is fantastic with dogs, respectful with cats, and very sweet with children. This girl is all love, and is looking for the perfect family to spoil her and love her for the rest of her days. Izzy is spayed, fully vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm negative, dewormed, and current on flea and heartworm prevention. She’s in excellent health and ready for a fresh start. Rocky was found roaming down Highway 9, with his sister. Our family has been fostering him but want to find him the perfect fit. As he has gotten bigger, we realized he needs more space and attention. He would do best with a dog of similar size and preferably not smaller. He is still very much a puppy who likes to wrestle and can be mouthy. Rocky is a cuddle bug who doesn't know his size. 😁 He is house trained and crate trained but needs more leash training.
