Hi, I'm Black Jack! I'm a happy, playful, and loving dog who enjoys spending time with my humans and dog friends. I love to play, go for walks, and explore new places. Whether I'm running off-leash or walking calmly on a leash, I'm just happy to be with you.I was found alone on the boardwalk, covered in bite wounds, including a large one on my leg. I also had ehrlichia and anemia, but I've recovered well thanks to care and love. I'm very gentle and friendly with everyone. I'm not a guard dog -- I'll happily greet anyone who comes my way. I get along great with other dogs and I'm eager to learn new tricks if you give me the time to train.I would do best with an active young person, a couple, or a family with older kids who want a loyal and playful companion.This dog is currently in foster care in La Paz, Mexico, but will be transported upon adoption or foster placement. As a U.S. nonprofit, Hope 4 La Pawz, handles all logistics and provides full behavioral and medical info in advance.

Born around January 25, 2024, her warm eyes and wagging tail, Lyvia is sure to capture your heart from the moment you meet her. Lyvia's journey to finding her forever home has been nothing short of extraordinary. Alongside her six siblings, she was pulled from her momma by Leon Valley Animal Control. These  officers intervened when they discovered Lyvia and her littermates confined in distressing conditions.   The puppies were all left to endure the sweltering heat in a dry fountain without relief, food or water.   Thanks to the swift action of a good Samaritan who alerted local rescues, Lyvia and her siblings were rescued from their ordeal and given a second chance at life. Despite the hardships she's faced, Lyvia's resilient spirit remains unbroken, and her capacity for love knows no bounds. Lyvia is always watching what is going on.  She takes a few minutes to warm up to new people. Whether she's romping around in the yard or cuddled up for a nap, she's always eager for playtime and affection. What girl doesn't LOVE songs and DANCING? Because she falls in Love Too Easily! Her name is Chetty and she's a jazzy lovebug! She's a female, Labrador Retriever/Pitbull Terrier mix looking for a special family to hold onto me and never let go! Still learning the chords of what it means to be a good girl: such as being comfortable in a crate and walking confidently on the leash. But, she'll figure it out with more and more practice. Her foster family is teaching so much and giving so much love! So prepared for her to give that back to you! She's a super excitable, mid-to-high energy dog, and sometimes forget her size around people! When her humans come home from work she transform from dog to jackrabbit and will jump all over the place and all over them! Gets along great with kids but remind your little ones that sometimes she'll forget just how little they are! She's curious about cats and chase them sometimes, thus we think she would do best in a household with no cats or cats that can hold their own against dogs. Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area - $50 Temporary Fuel Charge will be added)

Look DEEP into my eyes :).I am such a sweet and gentle girl with a heart of gold and so much love to share! My life was ruff before I landed here at the rescue, I was at the pound with my puppies, all 8 of them!! I was really blessed that I got to stay with them and get pled to a rescue, most mamas and pups are separated because most rescues prefer pups over mamas ;( But not MY rescue, I am just as loved as my pups are and I don't have all the puppy antics to handle :) So here I am, looking marvelous and waiting for that family who wants a soft and sweet girl to grace their couch... I am waiting for you to choose me because FRANKLY I go along with any color couch!! Tan- yup, white- ok (who buys white couches??), black- absolutely, chocolate- perfect match and even red!!
