Her ideal home would be one that is going to be patient but will also push her a little to move past her fears - even better if there's another dog to help show her the ropes! Lulu has been very slow to trust people, but has made notable progress in her foster home. What does that mean for her forever home? If you're looking for a dog who will be a snuggle bug, Lulu probably isn't the right fit. She has started to open up to more touch and affection from people, but is still unsure of new people so it will likely take her longer than others to really feel comfortable in her forever home and let her walls down. Lulu HAS shown a lot of interest in toys, but hasn't really figured out how to play just yet - but she does like a good benebone. She has also discovered the joys of sunbathing, so if you have a yard and like to spend time outside there's a good chance she'll find the perfect nap spot on a warm day. Lulu has gone from being scared to being cautiously curious - she likes to be able to see what you're doing and then decide if she wants to be part of it. This girl does seem to be VERY smart and picks up on things quickly, and even though the outside world is still a little scary for her, she's been doing great with her potty training. Even with how scared Lulu was when she joined the rescue, she has not shown any signs of aggression whatsoever. I LOVE people, food, walks, road trips, and sleeping pressed against my human like a heat-seeking missile. I do not love sharing toys, hot weather...cold weather...or the concept of personal space. But here's what you need to know before you fall COMPLETELY in love (I know, too late): Frenchies like me can be a lot of work. I have typical breed GI sensitivities, allergies, and a squishy face that overheats faster than a 90s laptop running too many tabs. I've had a Grade 1 mast cell tumor -- removed, clean margins, resolved, but need a mom or dad who will be on top of my medical care. I am not a low-maintenance dog, and I am not pretending to be. What I need from you: An active vet relationship with records that show it. Not just an annual visit -- a vet who knows you and your animals. This is non-negotiable and the most common reason I haven't found my forever home yet. I also need a home that keeps moving. I am just not built for an empty house or 24-7 couch life. Do I like a night of Netflix and snuggling? Of course! But I have a duty to my public and it would be selfish to deprive them of my potato-face charms. Foster Mom says I'm 'dog-selective', so current pets matter (basically, I like to be the boss. Duh!). No toddlers or seniors -- I'm an enthusiastic wrecking ball of love and I love-nibble when I'm excited. If you're a Frenchie person, you already know the work is real ...but completely worth it. I was born on October 15, 2024, and I’m on a journey to find my forever home. I came here with my brother after our previous owner could no longer care for us financially. When we first arrived, we both had pretty bad skin issues, including hair loss and fleas. It wasn’t the best start, but I’m already feeling better and getting healthier every day.
