Goldford (Goldie) is a sweet and caring girl, she loves cuddling and being near her people all the time. She is so well behaved and listens well, a true wonderdog. She’s had her bumps in the road, but she’s proven that she’s so willing to learn. She can be shy and a bit nervous around new circumstances, but that doesn’t stop her from putting her best foot forward. Unfortunately, with all of her beautiful qualities, the one hiccup we never expected was that she can be reserved around other dogs. We brought her into our home with existing dogs, but she can’t seem to find her spot. We notice how uncomfortable she becomes in the chaos of many rambunctious dogs, which just isn’t fair to her. She can happily coexist with maybe one or two other calm and gentle dogs, but she will really bloom in a home where she can be the best friend and companion to a human family. She’s ready to shine in the spotlight, so please reach out with any questions!

Violet is the sweetest girl. I’ve had her since she was a tiny baby, and she’s always been extremely affectionate and goofy. She loves nothing more than to be with her people, cuddling and laying on top of you. Her troubles started as she got older, and although she grew up with my other girl, she now is constantly weary and anxious around her. Neither one can settle around the other. While this is a difficult choice, my other dog is medically complex. It would be even more difficult to place the other, and Violet deserves to thrive in her perfect home. She would’ve best in a home where she’s the only one. She’s nervous around new people and dogs, displaying a bit of anxiety specially in new places. But she quickly warms up to people and will follow them around happily. She’d definitely thrive where she can be with her person for most of the day. I only ask for a rehoming fee to be sure she goes to someone who can help her shine and find her place in the world. She deserves the best.

Meet Pugsley Hey There, I'm Pugsley. I'm just a guy looking for that special love connection. Are you my perfect match? At 4 years old, I am a fawn-colored, 24-pound French Bulldog/Chihuahua mix. My foster says I am an excellent companion dog. I am crate-trained and housetrained. I walk well on a leash, but I forget my manners if I see another dog on the walk and lunge when I see one. When I arrived at the rescue, I had some injuries possibly caused by rough encounters with other dogs or wildlife. Because of this, I can sometimes be aggressive when I see other dogs. Although I have had some tough times, I can be a great companion dog. My foster says, "He is always by my side when I'm home. He sleeps on the bed with me without trouble at all." I'm ready to live my best life. It would be best if there were no children under 10 in the home, and I would be best as an only dog. Walking with me can be challenging if we encounter another dog, so a house with a backyard is ideal. I would not be a good fit for a first-time dog owner. Still, I could thrive with an experienced handler who can help me develop my behavior, manners, and reactions with other dogs as I learn to feel safe and secure. When you get to know me, and I warm up to you, I can be a wonderful dog. I would love to show you that. Before you do anything else, make sure you meet our adoption criteria. You must be at least 21 years old. You must live within a 60-mile radius of Richardson, Texas. You must share veterinary records for all pets currently in your home and all pets owned in the last five years. All pets in the home must be spayed or neutered. If you rent your home, you must provide verification that pets are allowed on the property. You must be willing to be interviewed by an adoption counselor and you must undergo a home visit from an RHS representative. Apply. You can complete an application at an MTP event or complete it online by either clicking the button below or the “Adopt” button beneath the pet’s photo in the listings above. Phone Interview or Attend a Meet the Pets (MTP) event. This is a great opportunity to meet the pet you are interested in and see if you connect. We hold these events once a month on Saturday from 1:00-3:00 p.m. We post the pets who are expected to attend on Friday evening on our Facebook page. For exact details and locations, view our event calendar. If an event is over a week away, a counselor may contact you for a phone interview. Home Visit. If all the steps above are completed satisfactorily, we will set up a home visit where you can meet the pet you are interested in again and the pet can meet other pets in the family. We will try to send the foster parent so you can learn more about how the pet is in a home environment. Complete Adoption. If all feel it is a good match, we will schedule the adoption at MTP or an off-site location. The applicant will need to complete the adoption contract and pay the adoption fee. Frankie was an owner surrender to our rescue due to having epilepsy and the couple was going through a divorce and neither wanted the responsibility of a dog with epilepsy. He is currently on 2 medications to keep his seizures under control and has been doing very well. He will need an adopter with experience with seizures. He will require regular vet visits for bloodwork for his seizure medication. He is doing well with dogs his size in his foster home. Dallas-Fort Worth area adoption only.
