Pixie is a lil Frenchie that appears to have been dumped after being overbread and her health was not addressed. She follows her foster Mom EVERYWHERE and cannot seem to get enough attention which we can tell she never received before. She currently lives with 2 big dogs but good with all sizes. She is just precious. She is fawn colored with one blue and one green eye. It is possible that she is a Fluffy Frenchie which are reportedly pure bred and very expensiveShe eats well; is potty trained. She appears per the vet to be about 2.5 years old and weighs 27 lbs. Pixie would do well as an only pup but plays well with other dogs as long as they don't try to take her collections :) . She is an interesting little character; she gathers all the toys and chews in the house and puts them in her bed. If either of my big dogs come and try to retrieve their bone, she is not having that. I've have to take one of those toys away from her and give it to the owner. The sad part is that this behavior makes me wonder if her puppies were taken from her too early. She loves belly rubs and scratches. It's amazing that she is potty trained and crate trained. She eats like a pup that has not been fed enough or not being fed often enough but she is making up for not being fed. Will soon be ready to take the no more puppies pledge. ##2610434##

Meet Pugsley Hey There, I'm Pugsley. I'm just a guy looking for that special love connection. Are you my perfect match? At 4 years old, I am a fawn-colored, 24-pound French Bulldog/Chihuahua mix. My foster says I am an excellent companion dog. I am crate-trained and housetrained. I walk well on a leash, but I forget my manners if I see another dog on the walk and lunge when I see one. When I arrived at the rescue, I had some injuries possibly caused by rough encounters with other dogs or wildlife. Because of this, I can sometimes be aggressive when I see other dogs. Although I have had some tough times, I can be a great companion dog. My foster says, "He is always by my side when I'm home. He sleeps on the bed with me without trouble at all." I'm ready to live my best life. It would be best if there were no children under 10 in the home, and I would be best as an only dog. Walking with me can be challenging if we encounter another dog, so a house with a backyard is ideal. I would not be a good fit for a first-time dog owner. Still, I could thrive with an experienced handler who can help me develop my behavior, manners, and reactions with other dogs as I learn to feel safe and secure. When you get to know me, and I warm up to you, I can be a wonderful dog. I would love to show you that. Before you do anything else, make sure you meet our adoption criteria. You must be at least 21 years old. You must live within a 60-mile radius of Richardson, Texas. You must share veterinary records for all pets currently in your home and all pets owned in the last five years. All pets in the home must be spayed or neutered. If you rent your home, you must provide verification that pets are allowed on the property. You must be willing to be interviewed by an adoption counselor and you must undergo a home visit from an RHS representative. Apply. You can complete an application at an MTP event or complete it online by either clicking the button below or the “Adopt” button beneath the pet’s photo in the listings above. Phone Interview or Attend a Meet the Pets (MTP) event. This is a great opportunity to meet the pet you are interested in and see if you connect. We hold these events once a month on Saturday from 1:00-3:00 p.m. We post the pets who are expected to attend on Friday evening on our Facebook page. For exact details and locations, view our event calendar. If an event is over a week away, a counselor may contact you for a phone interview. Home Visit. If all the steps above are completed satisfactorily, we will set up a home visit where you can meet the pet you are interested in again and the pet can meet other pets in the family. We will try to send the foster parent so you can learn more about how the pet is in a home environment. Complete Adoption. If all feel it is a good match, we will schedule the adoption at MTP or an off-site location. The applicant will need to complete the adoption contract and pay the adoption fee.
