Story
Hello, I'm Ziba, a spirited purebred senior with a heart full of love. My story? It's quite magical, really. My previous owner who loved me passed away suddenly and is now in heaven. All the neighbors rallied together and got me situated in a foster home and I have been witth him and his service husky (very well trained) since September 2024. My foster Dad really wanted to keep me and I loved them too, but the stars did not align and the magic continues. For weeks, my foster Dad worked with me to keep me loved, calm and allowed me to decompress as I was still grieving, I don't fully understand why my Dad hasn't come back but in the meantime, my rescue people are so nice to me. I may be a senior but I act more like 6 years old. I have energy to play and run around. I like the snow, the beaches and the mountains. I LOVE to go out and am excited in the car. The vet said that I am in great health and I can still jump in the car. But if you have a ramp, it was suggested that I use it.  I'm a shepherd so I will look at you for a few minutes to see if you are super nice. Once I figure it out, I am more more animated and will look to you for attention. I am easy to handle and walk. I can walk with smaller dogs but I like to play with the big ones. Little squirrels don't really bother me or cats for that matter. Bikes are also OK with me but I did see cows. Huge magical creatures, they are. Once a dog barked at me, and I barked back so i can stand on my own.  No biggie but big Human told me to step away and I did. I like good and yummy treats and I can sit really well.  My intelligence shines through as I quickly master new tricks. And, oh, the loyalty I have to offer! I'm also independent, content with a good chew toy or a peaceful nap. I'm sweet and friendly when I know you and I will love you endlessly. Adopting me would mean endless affection, unwavering loyalty, and a companion who's content just being by your side. I love to go places and can keep up!  I can't wait to find my forever home and share my magical love and adventures with you. I just want to be loved.  You like this dog...now what? Story
Hi. I'm Boone! I'm a sweet and gentle 2-year-old boy with the cutest face!!  So, here's my story:  I was abandoned with my brother and ended up in a scary shelter. My brother was much braver than me and had no trouble meeting people and he got adopted. I was really scared when he left me alone and I just wanted to hide. Then some kind people got me out of there just in time and I've been trying my very best to be brave. I like people once I get to know them. Once we're friends, I'm affectionate and playful and enjoy being around you. I have never bitten or even threatened to bite anyone, that would not be cool. I even did pretty well with the vet recently as long as my trusted people were with me and telling me it was ok. I have not met any cats but I kind of think I would be a little scared of the hissy, spitty things.  I would love to find a home that’s calm and quiet, with not too many strangers going in and out. If new people come over, I'd need a safe space where I can relax. I won’t cause any trouble—I'm just a little nervous around unfamiliar faces and need some time to feel safe. The perfect family for me would be quiet, patient, and understanding, and would give me the time I need to adjust. Having a calm, confident dog sibling to play with and hang out with is really important for me since I’ll follow their lead and feel more comfortable with them around. I'm not much of a barker, and I’m not destructive either. I may still be a bit scared of the big world right now, but with the right family, I know I can find my way. My foster mom has been taking me out-and-about on walks with other dogs and I think I really enjoy it!!  I walk nice on leash, too. If you’re looking for a sweet, gentle guy like me and prefer quiet instead of chaos, maybe we will be a match. I know it won't be easy at first but I will try really hard to be the bestest boy I can.  If you want to give me a chance I will be waiting in Santa Rosa in my foster home. Story
Hi! I’m Bodhi—and if you’re looking for a super friendly, easygoing, all-around great companion, I might just be your guy. I love everyone. Seriously, people, other dogs (big or small), you name it—I’m happy to say hello. I walk like a pro on leash with zero reactivity, and I’m just as good in the house. Chill is kind of my vibe. I’m a big, handsome boy, weighing in at almost 70 pounds, but I’m a total gentleman. I take treats super gently, don’t guard my food or toys, and I’ve got a fantastic nose—especially when it comes to sniffing out snacks in your pocket. I like water, love lounging in the sunshine, and I’m always up for a car ride. I still have a little bit of that puppy energy, so sometimes I get mouthy when I’m overexcited or just really want your attention, but I’m working on it! I don’t have that typical husky urge to run off—I’d much rather hang out and enjoy life by your side. I haven’t met any cats yet, and squirrels are interesting, but I’m not much of a chaser. I’d do great with respectful kids, especially if the grown-ups help manage our playtime and my occasional mouthing. Bottom line? I’m a really good boy who’s ready to find my forever family. Story
Hi, I’m Loki! I’m a 6-year-old German Shepherd, and people say I’m absolutely stunning. My thick, shiny black coat is pretty impressive if I do say so myself—and thanks to my amazing foster home, I’m now a healthy 108 pounds of handsome. First things first: I love open spaces. A quiet, rural setting is my ideal vibe. I still get a little startled by things I’m not used to, but I’m getting braver every day with more exposure and encouragement. I just need slow, thoughtful introductions to new experiences to help me feel safe and confident. I’m still working on my leash skills—especially when I see other dogs or things moving quickly. I can get a little wound up, so I’m looking for someone experienced with dogs who have leash stress, or someone who’s ready to work with a qualified trainer who can help me keep making progress. I’m already in training, and I’m a smart boy who’s eager to learn. Off-leash, I shine! I love visiting friends who have lots of space to roam, and I have a blast playing with other dogs. I often hang out with a senior small dog and just let him do his thing. I’m respectful like that. I’ve done a great job meeting new people, and I have excellent house manners. I sleep quietly beside my foster mom’s bed, and if I can’t ride along with you (which I love to do, even though I might bark at other dogs I see), I’m perfectly content to stay home. I’ve been trustworthy when left loose in the house—no trouble at all. And then there’s my ball. Ohhh, my ball. It’s basically my best friend. I carry it everywhere in the house and love a good game of fetch. I’m a big boy with a soft heart and a playful side. If you’re into tall, dark, and incredibly handsome boys with just enough mystery to keep things interesting, I might be your perfect match. I’m looking for a patient, experienced adopter who understands leash sensitivity and is ready to help me keep growing into the best version of myself. I’m waiting in Walnut Creek, and I’d really love to meet you. You like this dog...now what?
