Story
Hi. I'm Boone! I'm a sweet and gentle 3-year-old boy with the cutest face - that's what everyone that meets me tells me anyway!!  First and foremost and before I tell you all the good stuff  - -  I would love to have a confident dog buddy to live with or one that visits alot. I simply love other dogs and it will help me acclimate to my new home and people. OK, so here's my story:  I was abandoned with my brother and ended up in a scary shelter. My brother was much braver than me and had no trouble meeting people and he got adopted. I was really scared when he left me alone and I just wanted to hide. Then some kind people got me out of there just in time and I've been learning to be brave; and doing a really good job of it, I might add. I like people once I get to know them and it doesn't take me long at all, maybe 3-4 days then we're buds. Once we're buds, I'm affectionate and playful and enjoy the attention. I have never bitten or even threatened to bite anyone, that would not be cool. I even did pretty well with the vet recently as long as my trusted people were with me and telling me it was ok. You see, I'm just a little scared something bad will happen but once I know it won't, I relax. I'm not a clingy boy but I like being around my family. I have not met any cats but I kind of think I would be a little scared of the hissy, spitty things (I've barked at a few......). I would love to find a home that’s calm and quiet, with not too many strangers going in and out. If new people do come over, I'd need a safe space where I can relax. I won’t cause any trouble—I'm just a little nervous around unfamiliar faces and need some time to feel safe. The perfect family for me would be quiet, patient, and understanding, and would give me the time I need to adjust - oh yeah, they would also have another nice doggo to be my friend and confidant (in case you missed that above). I'm not much of a barker, and I’m not destructive either. I may still be a bit scared of some things in the big world right now, but with the right family, I know I can find my way. My foster mom has been taking me out-and-about on walks with other dogs and I think I really enjoy it!!  I walk nice on leash, too. If you’re looking for a sweet, gentle guy like me and prefer quiet instead of chaos, maybe we will be a match. I know it won't be easy at first but I will try really hard to be the bestest boy I can.  If you want to give me a chance I will be waiting in Lower Lake in my foster home (or I might be able to meet you in Santa Rosa).  You like this dog...now what? Story
Hi! I'm Marni.  I’m a fun-sized bundle of wiggles, zoomies, and excellent life choices. My foster family says I’m a smart cookie and a quick learner. Personally, I just like to think I’m highly talented at figuring things out… especially if treats or praise are involved. I’m already getting the hang of crate time and settling in like a little pro. I have also mastered the doggie door! Not bad for a young pup, right? I’m an energetic and playful girl who absolutely LOVES romping around with my foster dog buddy, Lucky. We chase, wrestle, zoom, and then do it all over again. If you already have a playful dog at home, I’d probably think that was the best idea you’ve ever had. Sometimes I test the limit but my foster dog brother is working wiht me on doggie manners. Even though I’m full of puppy fun, I also have a very soft, sweet side. My foster family says I have a gentle way about me and that I’m incredibly engaging and love to cuddle after a long day of play. Basically… I really, really like people. Like a lot. If you’re sitting down, I’ll probably come check in. If you’re walking somewhere, I might come along just in case you need company.  I’m super friendly with both people and dogs, and I’m always happy to make new friends. I also ride nicely in the car, which means I’m ready for all the adventures you have planned — park trips, pup-cup runs, or important errands like “let’s go see what that smells like.” So if you’re looking for a happy, affectionate, playful puppy who wants to learn, explore, and be your little sidekick, I might just be your girl. Story
Hi, I’m Loki! I’m a 7.5 year-old German Shepherd and people say I’m absolutely stunning. My thick, shiny black coat is pretty impressive if I do say so myself—and thanks to my amazing foster home, I’m now a healthy 115 pounds of handsome. First things first: I love open spaces. A quiet, rural setting is my ideal vibe. I still get a little startled by things I’m not used to, but I’m getting braver every day with more exposure and encouragement. I just need slow, thoughtful introductions to new experiences to help me feel safe and confident. I’m still working on my leash skills—especially when I see other dogs or things moving quickly. I can get a little wound up, so I’m looking for someone experienced with dogs who have leash stress, or someone who’s ready to work with a qualified trainer who can help me keep making progress. I’m already in training, and I’m a smart boy who’s eager to learn. Off-leash, I shine! I love visiting friends who have lots of space to roam, and, while I had a blast playing with my malinois friend Croc, I'm kind of like a high school kid who never got to interact with other kids...I need a little coaching!  I do often hang out with a senior small dog and just let him do his thing. I’m respectful like that. I’ve done a great job meeting new people, and I have excellent house manners. I sleep quietly beside my foster mom’s bed, and if I can’t ride along with you (which I love to do, even though I might bark at other dogs I see), I’m perfectly content to stay home. I’ve been trustworthy when left loose in the house—no trouble at all. And then there’s my ball. Ohhh, my ball. It’s basically my best friend. I carry it everywhere in the house and love a good game of fetch. I’m a big boy with a soft heart and a playful side. If you’re into tall, dark, and incredibly handsome boys with just enough mystery to keep things interesting, I might be your perfect match. I’m looking for a patient, experienced adopter who understands leash sensitivity and is ready to help me keep to grow into the best version of myself. I’m waiting in Danville and I’d really love to meet you. You like this dog...now what? Story
Hi hi hiiiii! I’m Thor — yes, that Thor — mighty, brilliant, and currently accepting applications for Very Fun Humans Only. They call me a mal GSD and I look like a mal. I know, handsome. But I am not the crazy mal that everyone thinks a mal is. I am a pet dog first and foremost and I love to take naps,  but I also like an active family because I am very nosey.  I’m the lucky brother to Delilah, and let’s just say… the brains in this operation? Also me. Super duper smart. Like, “problem-solving genius trapped in a puppy body” smart. My pluses: I do no For example: there was coffee on the patio table. I wanted to investigate. So I climbed onto the chair. When my human moved the coffee higher? Please. I simply recalculated, relocated, and found it again. Mission accomplished. A crumb rolled under the cabinet? Gone. Retrieved. You’re welcome. I consider myself part explorer, part detective, part professional climber. If there’s a way up, I will find it. If there’s a mystery to solve, I’m already on it. When I’m not advancing my research career, I’m busy being an excellent house guest. I ride great in the car (adventures? Yes, please). I sleep quietly in my crate all night like the angelic genius that I am. And when it’s playtime? Ohhh, it’s on. I love to play tug with my sister Delilah and I’m a big fan of a good chase game. Zoomies are best when shared. I’m: • Active and ready to roll• Curious about literally everything• A great eater (fueling my big brain)• A fun, playful guy who does great with playmates• Always looking for the next adventure I am also quite the snuggler in training. I know I am getting bigger but still huggable in your lap.  I’m looking for hiking buddies, training sessions, puzzle toys, dog sports, backyard zoomies, maybe even agility or scent work (but only for fun). My foster Mom says I am great with my nose especially sniffing out treats. I want to do things. I want to learn things. I want to conquer things (mostly in adorable ways). If you’re ready for a clever, climbing, crumb-detecting sidekick who will keep you laughing and on your toes, I’m your guy. Let’s go explore the world. I’ll bring the brains — you bring the snacks. Story
Hi! I’m Ari — my friends call me R-Dog. I'm a 3 year old German Shepherd with just a sprinkle of Doberman — the perfect combo if you ask me! It's what gives me my sleek black coat, svelte shape, and tan-tipped toes (which I think are very fancy). Oh, and these ginormous ears? They’re my best feature! I think I’m pretty cute, don’t you? I'm a very playful girl and can get quite silly. My friends are always laughing when we play and I love being the center of my person's attention! One of favorite things is getting brushed, my nails done, a nice bath - you know, spa day. I'm a very affectionate young girl and would love to spend my days with you just being friends. I just love being with my people. Whether we’re hanging out at home or playing in the yard, I’m in. If you happen to have a pond or even a wading pool, my life is complete. Maybe add a little fetch time and watch me bounce the ball..... If we do go on walks, I mostly mind my own business. I am not the social butterfly some dogs are and prefer to just walk along with my person, smelling all the wonderful smells my nose can absorb. If there happens to be water nearby, hold on, I will need to soak my feet and maybe just take a quick dip. I LOVE water, even mud puddles can be fun for me. And squirrels and rabbits - were they not put on this world for me to chase? I sound like the perfect girl, don't I? Well, I do have some things we need to talk about. I can have a little stranger danger. Not always but it's there. I'm not quite sure why as I've never been hurt but some people just scare me and I bark at them. You see, I didn't have the best first year. The family that adopted me lost interest when the babies came and my dad had to travel for work. I wasn't adored anymore and was left alone in the back yard with my cat friend. It was really hard for me as I wanted to be a social girl, go on walks, meet people and see new things. When my rescue finally got me back at a year old, I was a bit confused and really had no idea what to do in the world. I do try really hard to be my best dog self and if we are buds we are buds for life. If you do have strangers over, just give me a safe place to hang out until they leave and I'm fine. So we are clear, I'm NOT an aggressive girl. I have NEVER even thought about nipping a person. Because I wasn't socialized during that first year when it's really important it can be hard for me to be with other dogs. I really LOVE to play with other dogs but when I get really excited, I don't quite know what to do and my dog language is often misunderstood. If the other dog tries to tell me "enough", I can take it wrong and that's not my best feature. I can easily be with other dog friends on leash though, as long as my person is controlling the situation. I usually don't pay much attention to stranger dogs walking by but if one happens to give me the hairy eyeball or too much sass, I get defensive and might bark and carry on a bit — I’m working on it!  I have to admit there are some noises that make me nervous, too, like those really big trucks and those beeping sounds they make. Loud booms (bird cannons) scare me to and I just want to go to my crate and be safe. I love my crate!  I do like going for car rides but still get a bit nervous at times and want to curl up on the front seat or floor. If you have a crate in your car, I’m just as happy riding that way too. I don't really want to bark at anyone or other dogs but I can't help it sometimes. I really do try hard and I'm a smart girl. I LOVE my people friends and love hanging out with them. I'm looking for that special person that wants a life long companion and a best friend. Someone to go on quiet walks, maybe has a yard we can do some gardening in and I can play ball a bit. Someone that understands I love water and will buy me a wading pool. Someone that understands I get scared sometimes and will have my back. A place I can feel safe and go to when things get scary. A gentle soul, like me. If you are still reading this and think I may be just what you need, come meet me. I know you are out there somewhere and I will be here until we find each other.    You like this dog...now what? Please take 3-4 minutes and complete our application form at:  https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/42179/generic.  Our adoption team will quickly contact you by phone or email (watch your spam please) to see if it's a match!.  If you are already approved to adopt, please contact your Adoption Counselor and they will help you set up a meeting.  You can also sponsor Ari by clicking here. Story
Hi, I’m Buddy! I’m a big, handsome 3 year old guy and weigh about 80 lbs. My current friends think I'm most likely a GSD/Malinois combo. I'm not Malinois working dog crazy energy but I do have a good amount to burn and will need lots of walks, runs, hikes, play, adventures and car rides, I love car rides. I walk fairly well on leash, but I do pull pretty hard at times, especially when I need to smell that perfect tree or bush or blade of grass—I’m working on it!  I'm pretty cool around other dogs. I do occasionally bark at another dog but I don't get carried away. I’m a pretty friendly boy and have been meeting lots of new people HOWEVER, I do kind of prefer girl humans. For reasons unknown, boy humans make me just a bit nervous when I'm asked to meet them. I'm ok once I get to know them though. I do great going into stores, walking through people (girls and boys), taking treats, traffic isn't scarey, etc.  I would prefer a gentle but confident leader—someone who can guide me firmly without being too harsh. I'm a big, active boy but I am also kind of sensitive. I've been ok around kids but not sure how I would be around really young carpet crawlers. When we are playing and I get a little rambunctious, I can get just a little mouthy (it's the maligator thing) but it's just because I'm having so much fun. This is not a behavior for little ones, though.  I am a TOTAL squirrel fiend—chasing them is my favorite sport! If I spot one, I want to chase, I can't help it. If I could climb a tree I think I would. That said, I’m definitely not a cat or small critter guy! Small dogs have been ok but the prey drive is definitely there.  I’m a smart boy and already know my basics. My recall still needs work, but don’t worry—I’m not a runner. What I really want is to bond deeply with my person or family. I’ll be loyal and devoted, and the bestest boy. It’s important that my new family helps me learn and likes to train smart dogs like me. I will be an epic companion but I"m not the best fit for someone that doesn't want to teach me!!! You can also sponsor Buddy by clicking here.
