Story

LOLA1 came into the rescue  on 11/16/22 after being relinquished by her original owner. She was immediately adopted out by a second owner who also became ill and can no longer care for her they way she needs to be cared for. She is an active dog and needs to run and play and the second owner, like the first,  can no longer do that. She wants what is best for Lola1 and has decided to relinquish her again.  She has been with her for almost 2 years.  Lola1 is now a 6 year old spayed female sable GSD. She has all shots UTD and she is HW Neg.  She will be chipped by us upon adoption.  Lola1 loves the outside but she enjoys being petted and loved more than anything. She is barely trained in basic obedience commands but she is an affectionate engaged sweet calm dog. She was running with her bro's who were hounds so she does like to play but while I saw her, and worked her with Farley, she was calm, eager to be petted and very social with people and dogs.  She is housebroken and more of a lapdog than most sheps her age.  She is available immediately. ##1579734##

Oscar is a soft dog. Meek and stand-off-ish at first and extremely dog friendly. He takes 15 minutes to trust you and after that he is fine.  He is somewhat trained and was discarded from a family in the street. He remained there way too long before being discovered, and during that time developed demodex which caused his fur to fall out and for him to require antibiotics to get well. He has had everything he needed, and his fur is 95% back in, and his conditions are all being addressed in their final stages by the meds we are giving him. He weighs about 76 pounds and he is otherwise healthy with good hips, utd on shots, HW Neg and ready to be adopted. He is conventional black and tan with a defined saddle. He is crate trained and will go in, albeit reluctantly, but he still goes in and lays down.  He needs a family or a person who can go slow with him and be there for him, love him and spend time with him so he can once again trust humans to be good to him.  ##2042717##

PUPPY LYRA is a Liver Female German Shepherd dog. These dogs are quite rare and are only possible when the mother and father have the unique gene to produce one. She was found on the street with what apears to be a healing cut (not at all major) on her right side. It has all but healed and she is not in any distress from it or the trauma of being on the street or in the shelter. She will be released to us on the 15th of May and we currently need a foster and possible a foster to adopt. She is very cute, super social and very people and dog friendly. She weighs about 16 pounds and wil have all shoits, spay, chip etc when we get her on the 15th. ##2051429##

SPIRIT NEEDS A NEDW HOME AND FAMILY SPIRIT came into the rescue today after being trapped behind the Elks Club in Deep Creek. He was out there for quite some time, but the kind folks in the neighborhood fed him and gave him water. Somehow he survived cars, people and the area for months.He is a 76 pound black and tan male GSD. He is a powerful dog, but quite calm and easily managed with some basic skills training. He is not phased by other barking dogs but as not yet been approved by Farley, since he has not had his shots. We do not see that as an issue, which is why I am posting him before i actually receive him. He is a nice boy who likes to be petted and human contact. He was someone's dog for sure, and they did not ever look for him. He seems housebroken as he waited from yesterday to come out to pee and poop outside. He obviously doesn't have a name he knows, and this name of Spirit isn't at all known to him, so the adopter can name him anything they desire. He definitely needs basic obedience training and even though he is beyond the age of requiring a bond, we will select an adopter that regards training as the most important element of this adoption. He has not yet been heartworm tested. ##2052546##
