Flaca was unfortunately left to fend for herself for about a month on the streets of Redlands in Miami, Florida after her owner became ill and had to leave his farm—and several dogs—behind. During that time, Flaca escaped her enclosure and was later spotted on trail cameras visiting a local rescuer’s feeding station. Now safe with PLAY! K9 Rescue, Flaca is beginning to settle in as we get to know her personality and needs. She is a dominant female but does wonderful in a pack. While she does enjoy doggie friends she would do great as an only dog as well. She does not do well in a home with small children that invade her space. She has bitten a child that invaded her crate space, which is not her fault, but we want to be transparent. Bruno is a fabulous high drive puppy. He has lots of energy and is willing to work anytime of the day. He loves to snuggle with you on the couch but can also be put up in a crate and he’ll chill. We believe he lived outside and we found him right as they were about to dump him. So where I am getting at is he had no manners or personal space when I got him. Since I have had him I have been working on just that as well as his basic obedience. He is a super quick learner. Bruno needs a handler who knows the breed and understands they talk back and they can be little sharks and that is willing to use these tools he has for proper use. Nellie is a beautiful working line German Shepherd pulled from a local shelter in Pinellas County, Florida. Foster describes her as being very nice and very shy upon first meeting. At the same time very energetic. Knows her crate, listens to a command to go there especially when it’s the time to eat or go to bed. No problem staying in the crate the whole night. Had only one toilet incident at home. Currently being fostered with a resident male husky. She takes well to him correcting her from time to time, but she tries to lick his face. Great kisser. She does very well on leash walks. Maintains tension but does not “pull”. Shes a leaner and likes to lean against her person when leashes and idle- watering plants or standing around. Attempted to cat test her but a busy house made for many distractions. Was in a house with several cats for 4 days and did not seem phased when walking by.
