Story
We arent sure what breed she was but was told she is a german Shepard mix but she is small. She is in between a small and medium dog. She plays fetch really well! It's fun to throw to her as she catches it usually, even if you throw long distance! She is really nice to people just tries to bully other dogs. Not good with young kids because she gets excited and accidentally knocks them over frequently or steps on them. We have 2 small kids and are a growing family. We have to separate her and the toddlers a lot so we thought she would be better off with someone who could give her the attention she needs. She would be great with older kids as though.

Story
Nala is half German Shepherd, 1/4 Husky, and 1/4 Great Pyrenees. She has a big heart and lots of energy. She’s a bit anxious and might take a minute to warm up, but once she does she is super loving. For the most part she gets along with other dogs but tends to be toy aggressive. A fenced in yard is a must, as she will take off. She enjoys chewing on Nyla bones and playing fetch. We are looking for an active owner who can give her the attention and exercise she craves.

Story
Meet Midnight! She was picked up as a stray on March 16 in Carlinville. Although her picture was seen by over 9500 people, no one claimed her. To get to know her better, we sent her with a trainer for a couple of days, and here's what she said: "Midnight is a high-energy dog who is anxious to please. She listens well and will sit on command without a treat, although she is very food motivated! This girl has a high prey drive and will play fetch for at least 10 minutes without getting tired. Midnight will be an excellent dog for any type of dog sport: such as fly ball, agility, nose work, etc. She would ALSO be an amazing working dog, such as a herding dog, drug dog or tracking dog. Her enthusiasm, athletic abilities and smaller size makes her a perfect working dog. PLUS, she rides very well in the car, becoming relaxed and at ease. Midnight showed signs of separation anxiety if left alone. BUT, in the company of our other dog, she was totally at ease when left in a garage room and didn't damage one thing. So, another dog in the household is important. It appears that Midnight had not had a lot of experience in living in a home, but she is very smart. With consistent training and an outlet to exercise, Midnight will be a loving companion. Her energy just needs to be funneled." Midnight has been with kids and infants, and shows absolutely no aggression. She has been very outgoing and friendly to all people she meets. If you are looking for a smart, active dog that loves to please and play, Midnight is the perfect choice! ........... We do ADOPTIONS BY APPOINTMENT ONLY, on a first-come/first serve basis. Story
Good girl needs a good home. My beloved dog needs a good home to spend her last years in. I am unable to take care of her anymore. She needs more exercise than I can give her. I am not financially able to take her to a vet. But she's always been healthy. she is around 10. I want to make sure that she will be living her best life. I've had her for 6 and it is extremely difficult to say goodbye. She needs training. Easily trained. Food motivated. I can't remember the commands and I can see her frustration with me. Playing and fighting are easily confusing for her and she will revert to fighting. She has had minimal socialization, but better than she used to be. Ok with gentle kids, cats, and dogs Never been in a shelter i would like to keep it that way. Great guard dog. Not a lap dog. Loves being outside and car rides. She has never really been alone . Not crate trained. Parents have always been at home during the day.

Story
Hi my name is Ace! I’m about 8 months old and around 45 pounds. I love playing ball and hanging out with my brother Jack. I love being loved and will cuddle you all day. I sleep in my kennel and I’m doing great with potty training. When you meet me, I’ll be shy at first but overtime will warm up to you. I haven’t had the best of luck with humans, so I may take my time but I’m worth it. Can’t wait to be with you for forever. I love other dogs and will need a dog friend in my forever home.IMPORTANT: Please read all below, especially if you live outside of Texas, which is where our rescue is located.Apply to adopt on our website: https://www.charmingpetrescue.org/adoptAll of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or an additional fee varying by location for cats. If you are seeing our pets posted in your state, that's because you live near a transport stop, they are not currently at that location. Petfinder lists our pets as 'Out of Town' pets at other locations, and Adopt-a-Pet lists our location as a Transport stop. Those are currently the only options they offer to make this clear, so we put this description we've put at the bottom to explain it. You can read more about transport here: www.charmingpetrescue.org/transportWe understand transport is not an option for everyone, but we offer it at the cost we pay the transport company for those who wish to adopt from us.April 26, 2024, 11:54 am
