Story
Introducing St. Lucia, the sweetest German Shepherd/Lab Mix with the cutest ears and a love for belly scratches! While she’s curious and eager to explore, St. Lucia can be a bit timid at times. She does best with another dog to guide her and show her the ropes. She absolutely adores kids and would thrive in a home with at least one child and a patient dog sibling to love and learn from. St. Lucia is almost fully potty trained, though she might get a bit too excited when she sees her people and leave a tiny piddle behind. She’s sleeping nearly through the night in her crate but would much rather snuggle up in a big, comfy bed. Her foster mom says this intelligent puppy is eager to please and would be perfect for an active family who will continue her training, take her on walks, and keep her busy mind stimulated. She’s playful, loving, and cuddly, with a big heart ready to bond with a forever family. If you think St. Lucia would be a perfect addition to your home, please apply on our website to meet this special girl at https://luckychancerescue.com/adoption-applicationSeptember 30, 2024, 12:10 pm

Story
We adopted Pip as a puppy from Stray Paws Rescue, and she’s now two years old. From the very beginning, she has been incredibly loving and affectionate toward people that she’s familiar with. She’s often wary of strangers but is open to meeting and interacting with them. She is a bit stubborn but very intelligent, and it’s so easy to play and be goofy with her. She loves to snuggle, and she is happy doing anything together. One of her favorite activities is playing hide and seek (and she’s good at it!). When it comes to other dogs, she does great with dogs she’s familiar with as well as at the dog park. However, in public (on walks, in the yard, in the car, at any public place where she needs to be leashed) she’s very reactive and aggressive toward unfamiliar dogs. We now have a baby daughter, and there are times that it’s dangerous to have Pip around her due to these behavioral issues. Pip deserves a family with the time and ability to help her work through them.

All of our dogs start their journey in Memphis, Tennessee where they remain in loving foster families until they are adopted. Once adopted, some pups stay local in Memphis. Many others travel via one of our transport partners to their new forever homes. We use Pet Express Transport (https://petexpresstupelo.wordpress.com) for our Nashville, Knoxville and New England adoptions. For our Midwest adopters, we have our own private transport. Breed selection is done in conjunction with two local vets and is not to be considered a guarantee but rather a well-educated decision from well qualified staff. Due to the extremely high volume of inquiries we receive, we ask that you request, complete, and submit an application before asking additional questions. We try very hard to include all pertinent information in our bios. We are excited to help you find your new family member. However, Woof River is 100% volunteer operated. We want to spend our time saving dogs and assisting those adopters who have taken the time to complete an application. Thank you for understanding. Please LIKE Woof River on Facebook! Story
Meet Raven, a spirited 1-year-old German Shepherd who was found as a stray on 9/24/24. This energetic pup is looking for a home with German Shepherd experience, where she can get the exercise and mental stimulation she needs.Initially, Raven was quite high-energy, jumping up to greet us. But after a quick potty break, she calmed down. She absolutely loves playing with balls and does pretty well on a leash. When she spotted Goldie on the other side of the fence, she had her hackles up but was otherwise relaxed, even helicopter tailing. They soon started running the fence together, showing her playful side.Raven also met Bryan and immediately tried to engage him in play.Raven would thrive in a home with other playful dogs. When introduced to a cat, Raven was curious but cautious. After a cat hissed and charged at her, she quickly retreated, indicating she may do well with cats given proper introductions.Due to her size and tendency to jump, Raven would be best suited for a home with older kids. Come meet her!

Story
Meet Gia, a stunning 3-year-old White German Shepherd with a heart as pure as her snowy coat. Gia was found wandering as a stray in St. Paul on 9/27/24, and she`s been looking for a loving, patient home ever since.Gia is a bit of a nervous Nellie, especially around new people and men. Her kennel doesn`t do her justice, so please don`t judge her based on her behavior there. She`s a sensitive soul who needs time and gentle encouragement to come out of her shell.Gia is best suited for an adult-only family experienced with German Shepherds. She thrives in a calm, understanding environment where she can feel safe and secure. Once Gia feels comfortable, she walks beautifully on a leash and loves to explore her surroundings at her own pace. She`s a curious girl who enjoys investigating new things, but always on her terms.Gia is looking for a special home where she can build trust and blossom into the confident, loving companion she was meant to be. Could you be the patient, experienced family that Gia needs?
