Story
Meet Matthias. He's a German Shepherd mix who weighs about about 92 pounds. His vet estimated year of birth is 2019. He is named after Matthias Jabs, the lead guitarist for the German band the Scorpions. And just like his namesake our Matthias is sure to be a rock star! Matthias is a great dog! He needs a 6ft fence. Good with most other dogs but likes to play and can be overwhelming for all but the highest energy dogs. He would be fine as an only dog with a very active family. He is good on a leash. His ideal family would have dog experience and be willing to work with him on exercise and daily training.   ~Adoption donation $250. All vetting is up to date. Microchipped and neutered. Also on flea/tick and heartworm preventative. Visit www.ruffloverescue.com/adoption to make this pup a member of your family. April 26, 2024, 7:22 pm

Story
Mom was a chihuahua/terrier mix of about 30# and dad was a GSD. They all look like their dad and have the personalities of mom. This is Barney! He loves attention and being front and center of everything! He is nosey and wants to be tagging along with his new family, wherever the adventure begins! He loves people and kids and playing with his siblings. He has not been exposed to cats, but we have no doubt that he will be great with them too! Barney is not housetrained, but working on it. Barney has had his first vet exam, been dewormed, and had all his puppy vaccines. He will get his rabies in another 3 weeks, at 16 weeks of age. He can still be adopted and his rabies can be done at your personal vet and we will pay for that. It's covered under your adoption fee. Our vet guesses that Barney will be around 50# full grown. If interested in a meet n greet and adoption, please complete an application below: https://acfrescue.weebly.com/forms.html Adoption fee is $80. This fee covers the initial vet exam, vaccines, spay/neuter and microchip.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.GRACIE ~3 years old.  Good with dogs. Good with older considerate kids. Cats TBD. Needs a companion animal. GSRA adopts to residents of VA, NC, and SC only Do you remember the song ‘Girls Just Want To Have Fun’?  The name of the song fits this sweet little pumpkin pie, Gracie.  She is a smaller size pup, weighing about 50 lbs but she can hang with the best of them.  This sweet girl loves playing with her fur sisters and brothers.  Just check out her videos. If a pup wants to play, Gracie is ready to go but she can also chill with the best of them. She also loves to play with toys. She is house and crate trained and rides well in the car.   Gracie is a little love bug. She loves to be close to you and will cuddle in your lap, if you let her, or snuggle on the couch. She has so much love to give and has been waiting patiently for a wonderful family to see how special she is.     Gracie was picked up as a stray when she was about 6 months old.  When she first came to the rescue, she was shy and uncomfortable around people and new places. I hate to think of what must have happened to her during that time to make her that way. But that's in the past and with the help and guidance of her amazing foster mom and a wonderful trainer to show her that people and new places weren’t that scary, she is a different girl. Gracie would love a family who would be willing to be a little patient in the beginning.  Just to give her a chance to know that she is in a safe place filled with love.  The love you will get back will be never ending.  She will need a playful companion and a fenced yard so they can run and have fun. Do you think this sweet girl might be the one you have been searching for? Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.For more information on our adoptable pet list please visit: Adoptable Pet List Please join us at our next Event(s): Current Scheduled Events:         April 26, 2024, 1:46 pm

A cuddly teddy bear of a 55 lb dog who had been on his own for more than two months when rescued   Forrest is a German Shepherd/Husky mix. The vet estimates that he’s about eight years old but he acts like a puppy! Forrest gets along well with small dogs and cats, and all people gentle with him  He is very gentle and super smart. He yearns for a human companion or two. He is house-trained and well- behaved; neutered, on heartworm preventatives, current on vaccines, and takes a small dose of Fluoxetine to curb anxiety, which he has with loud noises and car rides.  He is crate trained and prefers to be in his crate next to his humans in their bed at night.  Please consider opening your heart and home to this wonderful dog. Please note that he is not athletic, fearful of noises, and will never be a guard dog. He likes to walk outside on a leash several times a day, but does not enjoy being outside.
