Penny was dropped off at my mother-in-laws home back in late May. She is 96 years old and not able to care for Penny. The puppy picture in the listing was taken shortly after she arrived. I have had her in my care for a little over 2 months. She is a smart dog and very energetic. She has quickly taken to fetching and will bring back the ball most of the time until she tires. She is about six months old based on assuming she was about 6-8 weeks old when she showed up. I want to keep her but my wife is not in agreement. We are nearing retirement and want to do some traveling which makes keeping her problematic. I will not surrender her to a shelter or rescue for rehoming as I have to be sure that she finds a loving home. She would be an ideal pet for someone who wants an active dog for outdoor activities, and I believe she would be excellent in agility skills, etc.

Meet Matthias. He's a German Shepherd mix who weighs about about 92 pounds. His vet estimated year of birth is 2019. He is named after Matthias Jabs, the lead guitarist for the German band the Scorpions. And just like his namesake our Matthias is sure to be a rock star! Matthias is a great dog! He needs a 6ft fence. Good with most other dogs but likes to play and can be overwhelming for all but the highest energy dogs. He would be fine as an only dog with a very active family. Empress is a 92-pound German Shepherd, and at 8 years old, she’s ready for a home where she can enjoy her senior years. Empress came to us as a timid girl, but it didn’t take long for her to warm up and start seeking attention from the people caring for her. She can still be a little shy at times, but she’s a gentle, affectionate girl who enjoys being handled and is perfectly content to settle down and rest at your feet. Empress walks well on leash, though she can pull occasionally when something catches her interest. She appears to be house trained and already knows sit and stay. She’s also done well meeting other dogs at the shelter! Cats, however, are not her thing, so she’ll need a feline-free home. Thankfully, Empress is currently in foster care, where she’s getting comfortable and enjoying some time away from the shelter. She’s a lovely senior who still has plenty of love to give, and we’d love to see her find a family who can appreciate both her affectionate side and her quieter moments. As always, we strongly recommend that resident dogs meet any new potential canine family members. If bringing a resident dog for a dog to dog test, please bring proof of Rabies, DHPP, and Bordetella vaccines. We rescued Luna from a rough situation a few years ago. She spent most of her brief life locked on a small porch. We took her in and got her shots, worming and spaying. She adores people and tolerates other dogs. We paid for 6 weeks of intensive obedience school, which helped. She does okay with dogs and people, but unfortunately; her prey drive focuses on cats. She is nervous about storms, but has improved. Luna loves balls and chew toys and curling up with people. She is protective of her family, but not to an extreme. She will stand by my side when I answer the door, but does not growl or bark. Once she understands you are hers she obeys commands such as sit, stay and come. She would be wonderful in a house without felines.
