Story
Chase is a lovable, loyal, and adventurous 7-year-old pup weighing 73 pounds. He’s the perfect mix of gentle companion and curious explorer, always ready to join you on whatever the day brings. Chase is an experienced car rider who eagerly hops in and settles down for the trip—he even sneaks in a few kisses from the back seat to show his affection. On the trail, he’s a dream walking partner, easy on leash and happily sniffing his way through every adventure. The only time he pulls with any real strength is when he spots another dog. He doesn’t bark, just whines softly as if hoping for a friendly meet and greet. This smart boy already knows “sit,” takes treats gently, and seems to know his name. He’s both treat- and people-motivated, making him a wonderful candidate for continued training. Chase is also housetrained and attentive, always wanting to please his people. Chase has a clever side, too—he’s known to be quite the escape artist! His future family should make sure doors and gates are secure, and a 6-foot privacy fence would be ideal for keeping him safe. With his affectionate nature and loyal heart, Chase is ready to bring love and joy to his forever home. Come meet him at Guilford County Animal Services and see why this sweet adventurer might be the perfect match for you. Chase is selective about the dogs he likes to keep company with. As always, we strongly recommend that resident dogs meet any new potential canine family members. If bringing a resident dog for a dog to dog test, please bring proof of Rabies, DHPP, and Bordetella vaccines. To meet your new pet, come to Guilford County Animal Services between 12 and 4 any day except Tuesday!

Story
Meet Aleera 💕 Gentle • Loyal • Low-Key Companion Aleera is a sweet, soft-natured girl looking for a calm and loving forever home. She’s house and crate trained, low energy, and happiest when she’s relaxing beside her favorite person. Aleera can be a bit timid at first, but once she feels safe, her affectionate and loyal personality shines through. She’s treat motivated and enjoys gentle praise and encouragement. Walks are one of her favorite activities—she’s a great walker with lovely leash manners and enjoys taking her time to explore the world at her own pace. Because Aleera prefers a quiet, predictable routine, she would do best in an adult-only home where she can feel secure and loved. Aleera is spayed, heartworm negative, and up to date on her care. She has had many teeth removed, so she’ll need to eat wet food only to keep her comfortable and healthy. If you’re looking for a calm, gentle soul to share your home and heart, Aleera is ready to meet you. 🐾 Come meet Aleera and see how special she is—she’s ready to love and be loved. To learn more about Aleera or to meet her in person, please contact her foster Pawrent at 336-451-4159

Story
We found Bella about 3 years ago. We took her in, got her vet care, and have had her ever since. Bella is a sweet girl that is terrified of the world and everything in it. She is riddled with anxiety, but loves to love her people. I hate to rehome her but I recently got custody of my infant nephew and, while she is great with older kids, she is not doing well with the baby. She also has to stay separated from our 3 year old niece because she has growled at her a few times during excited play time. Never made contact, although she could have if she wanted to, but its still a risk. I know it is anxiety making her react this way, but the uncertainty is still unsafe. We unfortunately do not know what Bella’s life was like before we found her, but we are pretty sure that is what causes her anxiety and fear. Bella would thrive in an environment that is quiet and filled with love and constant attention. Even though the world terrifies her, she loves to be outside and loves to play.

Story
Apollo is a great dog, he deserves someone that can give him the attention he needs! He loves his toys (rubber chicken is his favorite). He loves the outdoors and he is a great dog to work with. He is very curious, and he is a working class dog. He needs proper and firm guidance from someone, and as much outside time as he can get! He is 3 years old. He is fixed, microchipped, however his shots are not up to date, he recently did get a check up about a month ago and he has been diagnosed with allergies as he has been rubbing badly on his snout and around his eyes. You will need to monitor this. I want to find him a loving family along with the proper guidance his breed requires. He is iffy with other people. He has been around kids and other dogs, he has never bit someone and I don’t think that will be an issue, he does have anxiety and he will need to be trained in certain areas; I feel he will fit in great with another family, and be that best friend someone needs.
