Story
Meet Matthias. He's a German Shepherd mix who weighs about about 92 pounds. His vet estimated year of birth is 2019. He is named after Matthias Jabs, the lead guitarist for the German band the Scorpions. And just like his namesake our Matthias is sure to be a rock star! Matthias is a great dog! He needs a 6ft fence. Good with most other dogs but likes to play and can be overwhelming for all but the highest energy dogs. He would be fine as an only dog with a very active family. He is good on a leash. His ideal family would have dog experience and be willing to work with him on exercise and daily training.   ~Adoption donation $250. All vetting is up to date. Microchipped and neutered. Also on flea/tick and heartworm preventative. Visit www.ruffloverescue.com/adoption to make this pup a member of your family. December 30, 2025, 2:06 pm

Story
Apollo is a great dog, he deserves someone that can give him the attention he needs! He loves his toys (rubber chicken is his favorite). He loves the outdoors and he is a great dog to work with. He is very curious, and he is a working class dog. He needs proper and firm guidance from someone, and as much outside time as he can get! He is 3 years old. He is fixed, microchipped, however his shots are not up to date, he recently did get a check up about a month ago and he has been diagnosed with allergies as he has been rubbing badly on his snout and around his eyes. You will need to monitor this. I want to find him a loving family along with the proper guidance his breed requires. He is iffy with other people. He has been around kids and other dogs, he has never bit someone and I don’t think that will be an issue, he does have anxiety and he will need to be trained in certain areas; I feel he will fit in great with another family, and be that best friend someone needs.

Story
Mac is the biggest pup of his litter, but don’t let his size fool you—this handsome guy is a laid-back sweetheart most of the time. He absolutely loves outings where he can soak up attention and charm everyone he meets. Mac is a social butterfly who’s always up for making new friends! At home, he’s a playful goofball who keeps us laughing with his antics—especially when he grabs his sister Macy’s tail and takes off! Mac plays hard with his siblings and lives life with a fun-loving, adventurous spirit. Mac is also a special needs pup—we believe he is most likely deaf or at least significantly hard of hearing. He’ll need a patient, experienced adopter who understands the importance of structure, boundaries, and ongoing training. While he can be a bit of a challenge at times, he is absolutely trainable and will thrive with a strong, confident handler who can help guide him. A full hearing and sight evaluation is recommended to better understand his needs and help set him up for success. If you’re ready to open your heart and home to a joyful, smart, and uniquely lovable pup, Mac might just be your perfect match. Apply to adopt at hsdavie.org/dogs and help Mac find the home—and the leader—he deserves.
