Story
**willing to have her spayed prior to adoption** Arya was surrendered to us by a neighbor that was unable to care for her anymore. My husband and I agreed to foster her and find her a new home because she is extremely loving and clearly displays what a good dog she is. She is roughly 1.5 years old, house trained, and knows commands like sit and come. Previous owner sent her to obedience classes as a puppy so she does listen to an extent. She is gentle, loving, and energetic. She is loyal and a complete goof ball. She loves to play and is easily trainable due to her intelligence. She does not show aggression towards people but is reactive towards other dogs due to lack of socialization but it is something we are working on with her. We are unable to keep her beyond fostering because we are both military and gone too often to give her the life she deserves.

Story
Turtle is such a good boy, he’s loving and sweet. He’s so gentle despite his size. He loves meeting new people and going places. He’s completely potty trained and will listen to what you say. Super food motivated. Does not like to be confined but does well on his own if left loose in the home. He is not crate trained and gets anxiety if confined. He is great with cats, has limited experience with children but hasn’t had any problems so far. He doesn’t know he’s big so he does jump on people. He will follow you around and is just a great companion. Does get car sick so may need something to contain any mess while being transported. He is an indoor dog, does not like to spend much time outdoors alone, he’s fine if you’re with him though. He loved to play, anything that squeaks and rope toys. He’s also perfectly content just hanging out and sleeping all day. He’s happy to play or happy to nap.

Story
Biscuit is a gentle, loving, hyper, timid young dog. I've had her since 6-7weeks old and she is now 2yrs old. I am going through a housing issue and can not keep her. She is fixed and chipped. I believe all shots are up to date. Old Stage road veterinarian is who's been seeing her. The reason I can't take her with me is that she is a little destructive when bored and alone. My job keeps me away for 12+ hrs a day ad I've come home to torn up furniture and a bathroom door. If you are with her or give her stuff to keep busy she is absolutely a doll. Good with kids and other animals. Potty trained for outside and not food aggressive.

Story
Diane is almost 2 years old and weighs about 70 lbs. Beautiful Diana is being bullied in her home so we are seeking a foster or adopter for this gentle submissive girl. Her foster writes, "Diana is a princess who is bullied a lot. She is submissive, timid and will try to hide when an intimidating dog comes near her. She isn’t very good at defending herself. " This sweet girl amuses herself by collecting items from the laundry basket and putting them into her safe places .She likes to play, to snuggle and cuddle and she likes to hang out around her humans. She even knows the command "give hugs" and if she sees her humans hugging she will immediately come and join in. "She follows commands extremely well, loves treats and all meals but needs a high flat fenced yard since she will jump! She doesn’t like car rides as she will shiver in fear and drool the whole time in the car yet she likes to go for walks . Diana loves to be silly and will tell you by a talky bark when she wants sometime or to go out." She would be the perfect companion for anyone . This dog is available and everything we know about this dog is included in the dog's description. We are only able to respond to questions once a completed application is received https://crisisdogsnc.org/dog-adoption/. We do not respond to questions about our dogs sent through email or social media. Excellent vet references and a virtual home visit required. Your prior or current dog must be on year-round heartworm prevention. We transport by land or air whenever possible. Unless there is definitive documentation our breed and age assessments are based on visual appearances.April 23, 2024, 8:46 am

Story
This goofy handsome boy was thrown from a moving car but has retained his sweet good nature. Goose loves meal time and playing with toys and always wants to be first in line for treats. He does guard his crate or dog bed from dominant dogs and his bark is a strong one, but he is not aggressive . In fact Goose is bullied by the foster's resident dog and that is why we must find him a peaceful caring new foster or new home. Goose likes to be center of attention but if you ignore him for a few minutes he will settle down and play in his bed with his toys. This is a very sweet dog! His foster writes, "Goose likes to snuggle, doesn't mind baths and loves to play in the water bucket. He loves a water hose and swimming pool in the summer. He will play fetch with most any item and bring it back. He always has a smile on his face even when he doesn't feel great. He knows how to sit, lay down and get his toys (he has one in particular we call Goose’s baby) and knows 'night night' means time to sleep. He is for the most part house trained and crate trained and will let you know when he has to go out." He is extremely inquisitive and has learned to open cabinets, go into closets and showers looking to see what is inside them. His foster says, "Goose is extremely funny to be around His favorite past time is trying to help wash dishes or if you leave the bathroom door open he will get into the shower with you as he loves to play in water!" Goose will need to live with a submissive dog if you have already have dog since we don't want him bullied. No young kids since he will herd them. Now for the medical details: Goose has hereditary bilateral hip dysplasia that is and anal paralysis due to being thrown, but he is bowl trained if kept on a lower protein low fat diet; we can discuss with you. He takes gabapetin, Galaprant and another long acting pain med daily but the vet says he is extremely healthy otherwise. We provide full medical records. He needs a fenced yard to avoid taking long walks and to be able to bask in the sun. Goose needs mental stimulation since he is highly intelligent. His foster will give you lost of suggestions. This is a lovely sweet dog for a special caring household. Apply at crisisdogsnc.org. We reply only to completed applications, no calls. Excellent vet references and a virtual home visit required. Your prior or current dog must be on year-round heartworm prevention. We prefer a fenced yard, but this is not required for all of our dogs. We transport by land or air whenever possible.April 23, 2024, 8:46 am
